Okay, so this one is really about how long Grace's hair is getting. And it's getting a lot of red in it, though it doesn't show up well in the pictures.
This is my first post after my visit in Goa. Its such a beautiful state and it is very similar to Kerala in all respects. It was off season visit with lots of rains in Goa and i just love that place because of the architecture.
There are a number of churches in Goa built by the Portuguese. Many magnificent churches were built by them in Old Goa which is well known for its churches.
This is shot in Basilica of Bom Jesus which is famous of all the churches in Old Goa. I had to re-shoot this the second time when i found that when i shot the first time the lens was set to manual focus. Some of the rules that you might have to know when shooting in Goa Churches are you cannot use Tripod and second you cannot have your friends or relatives in photos when you photography the church.

TheDiet Chronicles Documents an example of healthy eating or rather mindful eating. An idea of a way one "could" eat as a means to eat healthy and enjoy the process. As black belts and martial artist we are aware that Heart Disease is the number one cause of death among Americans and 1 out of 3 people will develop Type 2 Diabetes. It only makes sense then to make Healthy Eating a part of any self-defense program. Statistics show more people will be hurt by what's on their plate than they ever will be by a punch, kick, throw, or grappling match. Learning martial art techniques is important but where it stops the self-discipline of eating healthy and mindfully begins. Just an idea we explore and one that I ask my students to explore as well.

Pictures from a visit to the Skegness Natureland & Seal Sanctuary during March 2024. The organisation rescue beached and seals needing treatment and provide treatment in the purpose built seal hospital. This is in my opinion worthy of all the support they can get and well worth a visit,
Dr Prunel is an eye doctor who traveled to Kenya to volunteer and treat patients for eye care. Upon his trips he noticed the need for hats for people constant exposed to the sun of Kenya. he also observed that the people of the villages he visited used bunched up rags as soccer balls. Wanting to make a difference cathy brought this project to TheDOJO and where we collected 20 soccer balls and 100 hats which Dr Prunel brought with him to Kenya and distributed to the patients. House of the Teutonic Order
The House of the Teutonic Order was as a Viennese commandry of the in 1198 in Acre founded Teutonic Order under Duke Leopold VI in the early years of the 13th Century built. The German Order was next to the Hospitallers and the Templars the third major order of knights of the Middle Ages. Duke Leopold gave him the large area between Stephansplatz, Churhausgasse, Singerstraße and blood alley (Blutgasse). Documentarily proven is the existence of the house from 1222. Here resided the Landkomtur (province commanders) of the Bailiwick of Austria, to which the commandries Vienna, Wiener Neustadt, Graz, Friesach and Groß-Sonntag (Krain) belonged. In the great fire of 1258 all the religious buildings except the church tower burned down. In the Middle Ages the complex of the German monastic house was limited to the area along the Singerstraße and Blutgasse. 1309 exchanged the Order part of the land that was needed for the extension of Stephen's cemetery against a neighboring area. The sprawling building had in its, the Stephansplatz adjacent part a large farm yard, which was surrounded by stables. Since 1526 the Head of the Order bore the title "Grand and German master (Hoch- und Deutschmeister)". The famous Viennese house regiment of the same name by the way in 1696 emerged from those Truppenkontigenten (contigent of troops) which the Order for the Turkish war had provided. After the first Turkish siege of Vienna, numerous residents of the suburbs whose houses had been burned were housed here. From 1667 the already dilapidated buildings were torn down with the exception of the church under the Landkomtur (province commander) Gottfried Freiherr von Lambert and provided by Carlo Canevale with three-storey new buildings. As plasterers Jacob Schlag and Simon Alio were mentioned. 1679/82 increased Canevale and Johann Bernhard Ceresola the complex.
Sala terrena. In the years 1720-1725 the German religious house under the Landkomtur Guidobald Starhemberg by Anton Erhard Martinelli was further extended and baroquised. In 1785 it received under Landkomtur Alois Graf Harrach by placing a fourth storey its present shape. In the 18th Century several fires caused major damages. Especially those of 1735 raged for three days, because the urban fighting personnel the entry was denied by the German Order of Knights. Among the prominent residents of the German religious house, which in the 18th and 19th century first also as a guest house of the Order served and then was largely rented, included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1781), Johannes Brahms (1863 - 1865) and the comedy writer Cornelius Hermann Paul von Ayrenhoff. At the beginning of the 19th Century on Stephansplatz the German Order Cellar (Deutschordenskeller) was opened. Was in its place in the second half of the 20th Century the Restaurant "Deutsches Haus". Since 1809 the German religious house is the residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. Until then, this one resided in Mergentheim (Baden-Württemberg). From 1864 the Landkomtur Eugen Graf von Haugwitz the church by the cathedral architect from Gran, Josef Lippert, partially had re-gothicised. At that time at the gable above the church windows the already damaged pinnacles and figures were removed. Only the Grand Master coat of arms was left. 1929 the community of the German Teutonic Knights was transformed into a purely religious order. It is one of the very few religious institutions whose top management is not located in Rome. First Grand Master living in Vienna was Archduke Anton Viktor (1804 - 1835).
Church - interior. The House of the Teutonic Order is now a sprawling complex of buildings, grouped around two courtyards. The façade at the Blutgasse is the oldest. Those at the Singerstraße stems from the 17th Century. It represents today the face side of the building. The structuring of the façade by high Baroque inonic giant pilasters followed around 1720. The ground floor is grooved. The two early-Baroque round-arched portals are framed with Tuscan pilasters. The simple façades of the courtyards are held in the style of the 17th Century. On the west side of the pentagonal courtyard on the ground floor walled arched arcades as well as glazed Pawlatschen (access galleries) from the 19th Century on the first floor can be seen. In the courts were various, in 1903 discovered grave plates placed. The ground floor rooms are vaulted, early Baroque lunette barrels and groin vaults prevailing. Among them is the Sala terrene, a with a flat dome vaulted central room which is decorated with illusionistic wall paintings of the late 18th Century. The wall and ceiling frescoes depict mythological scenes and figural ornaments. The hall was once opened to the garden through a portal, but this was later reworked into a window. The tract between Stephansplatz and Blutgasse encloses two two-aisled halls. While the cross vault of the first ones is resting on sturdy pillars is those of the other ones supported by Tuscan columns. In the partially with Rococo and Neoclassical stucco ceilings provided rooms of the first floor are located the library and archives of the Order with documents and books dating back to the 12th Century. Some beautifully crafted wood cabinets were personally manufactured by the Grand and Deutschmeister Archduke Eugen. In the treasure chamber on the second floor are in addition to religious insignias and paintings, inter alia, parts of the Kunstkammer (Art chamber) of the Grand Master Archduke Maximilian III of Austria from the time about 1600 exposed.
Church - Empore. Attention getter and center of the tract at the Singerstraße are the three tall lancet windows of the church of the Teutonic Order. The first chapel already in 1258 fell victim to a town fire. From 1326 it was replaced by Jörg von Schiffering by a new building yet today the core of the Church of the Teutonic Order forming. At that time this one was still but free on three sides. In 1375 it was dedicated to St. Elizabeth. Guidobald Starhemberg 1720/22 the Chapel had remodelled in the Baroque style and flanked at both longitudinal sides by newly built religious houses, by which the three stained glass windows became the central projection of the House of the Teutonic Order. Presumably Anton Erhard Martinelli also was involved in the planning. The quite gothical appearing church facade is a beautiful example of the baroque tinge of the time after the Gothic period of 18th Century, unique in Austria. In the neo-Gothic restoration of 1864/68 the Baroque dome of the narrow and high tower was replaced by a pointed Gothic helmet. After the church was severely damaged in 1945 by bomb hits, followed its restoration 1946/47. Its vaults possess Gothic stucco decorations. In the Baroque reconstruction in the corners eight galleries were built-in, which are accessible from the apartments situated behind. The Dutch polyptych (1520) comes from Mechelen, but was until 1864 in the St. Mary's Church of Danzig. The altarpiece was created in 1667 by Tobias Pock. In the four corners of the room Evangelists Statues by Johann Hutter (1864) replace the missing sculptures by Giovanni Giuliani from the year 1721. On the walls hang several grave slabs, including an epitaph of the scholar Johannes Cuspinian (1515) and the by Jacob Schletterer created grave monument of the Landkomtur Josef Philipp Graf Harrach. Most of the more than eighty coats of arms of German knights, covering the upper part of the walls were designed by Johann Andreas Frank 1722.

The perfect example of an idea you get and you forgot the main idea....
That's right, this is an 18 wheeler and the officials at the Wyoming Port of Entry are about to learn of his payload for those who haven't already suspected. It's my opinion that Wyoming could use a heck-ofa batch of really good dirt that would grow SOMETHING! You guessed it, we were out on I-25 obviously heading toward Cheyenne with the windows open - no peace for us. Sometimes advertising can be counter-productive! Such as in this instance. But here I am relegated to shooting through the windshield at Eduardo's behest like an indentured servant. It took me ages to try to get the windshield tint/cast from this scene and obtain a decent snapshot. All I can say is this is as good as it will ever get, and 10-4 Eleanor, good buddy. I suppose that you could find out if he will haul your load over at [www.dirtt.net] like it says. I don't know if your goods will be clean on arrival, though.
Well I appreciate a good joke now and then and I happen to be with a prime example: Eddie! I also have a picture of his altered-ego just posted. Is this what they call "going postal?" Must be. Does he have to be licensed to carry this payload and I don't know if I've taken enough license myself. By many words, even Eddie's wit is exhausted. AndI'monacampaigntoneverwasteelctronswithspaces.
The sky was still devoid of anything so this marks yet another time I had to point the camera elsewhere for a shot. Useless as it may be. Lately, I prefer to modulate great clouds that I find. All along, we looked for any ole' picture and this must be that one. HaHaHaHaHa. Any sport in a storm I say. And not bad for a "moving" picture, I'd say.

I cut it up and heated it with my heat gun in a well ventilated area. It's amazing how soft the card gets and then back to it's original hardness. (I was trying to avoid having to talk about soft and then hard again, but it just couldn't be avoided!)
I actually really like this and am planning to make a whole series with a huge stack of old credit cards I have. RAD packs are inspiring! Thanks, Sara!
Freaking awesome! Chris has, in my humble estimation, another Capcon winner on his hands.
I chose this picture because it specifically shows some of his fine modeling and painting. Look at the dive brakes, which are plastic and not photo etch. And check out the markings, he painted them on! They look about as real as you get, and flawless.
This big beast took a while, but he is pleased.

In the Middle Ages the complex of the German monastic house was limited to the area along the Singerstraße and Blutgasse. 1309 exchanged the Order part of the land that was needed for the extension of Stephen's cemetery against a neighboring area. The ground floor is grooved. The two early-Baroque round-arched portals are framed with Tuscan pilasters. The simple façades of the courtyards are held in the style of the 17th Century. On the west side of the pentagonal courtyard on the ground floor walled arched arcades as well as glazed Pawlatschen (access galleries) from the 19th Century on the first floor can be seen. In the courts were various, in 1903 discovered grave plates placed. The ground floor rooms are vaulted, early Baroque lunette barrels and groin vaults prevailing. Among them is the Sala terrene, a with a flat dome vaulted central room which is decorated with illusionistic wall paintings of the late 18th Century. The wall and ceiling frescoes depict mythological scenes and figural ornaments. The hall was once opened to the garden through a portal, but this was later reworked into a window. After the church was severely damaged in 1945 by bomb hits, followed its restoration 1946/47. Its vaults possess Gothic stucco decorations. In the Baroque reconstruction in the corners eight galleries were built-in, which are accessible from the apartments situated behind. She just wanted fries, but I still ended up having a very expensive evening - BUT, I went somewhere that wasn't home or office, and I did a thing!

Kathy’s Grandmother and Grandfather. Wow, the stories I have heard about these two are something else. They were very much in love and very much into having fun. A word I heard from a number of relatives including the wonderful daughter of the Grandmother is: he was the only one that made all the fun in the family. Every time you turned around he was the one that got the family up and having fun. Talk about memories; he must be responsible for all kinds of great memories for all the relatives and friends lucky enough to know him. I never had the privilege and I can tell you from the stories he was one great guy. She was no slouch either; they were a team that just never made it to the big screen. Little things, like the thought I just had and it was worth smiling over. Kathy’s Grandmother would allow her to take a spoon and the jar of peanut butter and walk around the house eating out of the jar; I doubt they told the other guests, but what the heck, it’s all family anyway; never hurt any of them; turned out just fine. You may remember Kathy’s Grandmother from another picture; the one where she is posing on the tree stump. They went to the lake and some would say she was just copying the kids as they posed; but I say oh, no; she was the leader of the pack. Grandma posed on the stump in a classic pin-up pose and then her daughters were hard pressed to keep up. Just because one of her daughters and Kathy’s mother posed in a grass skirt, and Kathy has posed in some rather great poses, doesn’t mean this type of thing runs in the family; but you can’t prove that by me. Heck they are all great looking and they know how to pose, well what do you expect. The fun is in the blood and it flows through the family. That’s what makes the memories the family gets and the kids have to live up to. I do think Grandma was a hard act to follow and not soon to be forgotten. My wife’s mother’s daughter’s Grandmother was a true lady and she was there for you. Gosh I know there are more great stories that need a little nudging, but it is something to work on as the right picture comes up to generate the right memory, and if it is fit to print maybe I will; after all, what good is a good memory if you don’t share it. Sharing is the caring that makes the world go round, and love and memories are the glue that holds it all together. Until I get another though, and by the way if you made it this far thanks for listening or reading as the case may be. Please enjoy the pictures and some of the memories; I know we do, and thanks.

Until then, visiting St Mary is probably as close as I'm going to get to the high life.
St Mary is not a big church; however, its restoration has left it cavernous, and it seems big inside. A long north aisle lies on the village side, and you step down into it from the north porch, a simple affair. It contains a memorial to Robert Hoy, who died at the age of 10 in 1811. It is charged with the sentimental piety one expects of the time. The artist was Charles Regnart, and Mortlock thought it not his best, pointing out that the awkwardly posed woman clasps an urn which she seems to have caught just in time; which rather endeared it to me, actually.
The churches in this part of Suffolk were, for the most part, enthusiastically scoured by the Victorians. Sometimes, the results were good; I think particularly of Great Wenham and Layham, where low-church restorations left us with fine, bright, neat interiors. It is harder to do this with a big church, and something similar was tried on a grander scale at East Bergholt, which is now rather gloomy, I'm afraid; but to be fair, Bergholt had already been seriously distressed by the Anglicans and Puritans in the 16th and 17th centuries. The other wing of the 19th century church was brought to bear at Stratford St Mary, which is internally indistinguishable from a thousand Tractarian temples from Coventry to Calcutta. Higham also underwent a Tractarian remodelling, and it was of good quality, as you'd expect for the clientèle. The chancel is a gorgeous confection of 1880s Anglo-catholic piety. It must have cost an absolute fortune - but then, they could probably afford it. The elaborate reredos is tiled in the manner of the 19th century churches of North London that Betjeman loved so much, and the high roof allows it to be full of light, otherwise it would be overpowering.
Indeed, the high chancel arch, a Victorian replacement in wood, saves this church from aesthetic suicide. It gives scale to the east end, and allows the nave to retain something of its former barn-like quality, despite the heavy 19th century furnishings. It gives proper scale to the stained glass, much of which is good, and I particularly liked Faith and Charity by Powell and Sons. This is as good as their early 20th Century glass gets, and there are earlier survivals - note the beautiful carvings on the capitals of the arcade, and the stone corbels beneath the roof also look medieval. Well, Mortlock thinks so, anyway.
Mortlock also indicated to me what appears, at first, to be a second font, but is in fact almost certainly an ancient holy water stoup, from the lost days of Catholic England. He wondered if it had come from the now-demolished south porch. It might seem awkward to us today that the main entrance of this church was once on the other side, but it is a good reminder that, however old the villages of Suffolk look, they are never as old as their parish churches, turned as they once were towards long-vanished communities.
I paid a visit to one of the famous water towns in Shanghai - Zhujiajiao (朱家角). This is a quaint idlyllic town as ancient as it could get, and frankly I was expecting a much lower hygiene level, but I was pleasantly surprised. While it was touristy, the town is still inhabited by local residents who breathe life into this 1,700 years old attraction. Wandering the narrow streets admist the many canals and connecting bridges took me back in time to ancient China. Zhujiajiao not exactly Venice, but pleasant enough for a half-day leisurely visit.

TheDiet Chronicles Documents an example of healthy eating or rather mindful eating. An idea of a way one "could" eat as a means to eat healthy and enjoy the process. As black belts and martial artist we are aware that Heart Disease is the number one cause of death among Americans and 1 out of 3 people will develop Type 2 Diabetes. It only makes sense then to make Healthy Eating a part of any self-defense program. Statistics show more people will be hurt by what's on their plate than they ever will be by a punch, kick, throw, or grappling match. Learning martial art techniques is important but where it stops the self-discipline of eating healthy and mindfully begins. Just an idea we explore and one that I ask my students to explore as well.

I had to find something that I shot that was green. Found this in an out of the way park in the hills on the island of Kauai. It look familiar to what I’ve seen in stores and I call it “sensitive fern” or “touch-me-not”, I found the scientific name, Mimosa Pudica. I touched it and sure enough it did close up, it is quite small and delicate and flowers are beautiful. The wind was blowing so it was a hard shot to get and the plant wanted to close its leaves all the time.

Target has been getting some larger packs while other stores are getting single figures as their exclusives. The Target 3-Pack consists of Jyn Erso in her Jedha outfit. The people that went out and got her on Force Friday were not happy when the news came out a few days later that she would be included in this 3-pack with the exact same outfit and gun. Thankfully my Force Friday was more miss than hit, so I didn't find her, and was happy when the news came that she would be available in the 3-Pack. Along with her is Cassian Andor in his flight jacket. This is different than his first release in his cold-weather gear. He also comes with a very special weapon. Finally in the set comes the Imperial Death Trooper. They forgot to mention on the box that this is the Death Trooper Specialist. Similar to the very loved Sandtrooper, the Specialist comes with a pauldron over their right shoulder, and additional weaponry across the webbing. This version is missing the Long Range Blaster Rifle that we have seen in the previews, but more on that later. For now, let's bust this pack open and see what have to play with.
Jyn Erso:
Jyn is a fantastic figure. I have seen some problems with the eyes, though mine look up slightly, all three packs at my Target seemed to be okay. She comes in her head scarf. The gun is packed separately, but fits in to the holster on her hip. The holster has a strap to keep the gun securely in place.
The head scarf is removable to show Jyn with a bare head. She has her hair back in a low bun, but with parts hanging down on both sides of her face.
The gun is a nice little thing. It is well painted in black and silver.
For the fans that got her early, they will be a bit erked to have to buy her again to get the other two characters. And they have good reason to be bummed. There are many version of Jyn we could have seen, and I don't think we are done yet.
Captain Cassian Andor:
Thsi time around, we get Andor in his flight jacket. He matches Jyn with their stripes down the sleeves. The sculpting on this one continues to be great. He is not as heavily padded as he was in his cold-weather gear from the first release, so they had to do a little more work to make the sculpt work. And boy did it. The shirt has an open flap, a little similar to Luke's shirt flap. He has a low-slung belt holster. A strap goes around his leg to hold it in place. A really good look overall.
Cassian comes with the blaster he came with in the Eadu release, but this time it has a bit of something different going on. There is an extra tab on the back to let you know it does something special. And that special has something to do with the two extra gun parts that come in the box. There is a longer front and a stock for the back.
The parts are better molded than the usual E-11 Blaster Rifles we see every Imperial come with. They are usually a bit soft in the mold. Not this gun though. It is crisp, clean, and well painted. The parts fit snugly together to make a really well done blaster rifle.
This is a great team of Rebels. I am excited to see them on the big screen soon. But that is not all, there is one more guy in this box.
Imperial Death Trooper Specialist:
The Specialist is similar to the first release of the Death Trooper, but it has the pauldron with extra ammo, and grenades attached to the webbing. Is that enough to warrant getting this 3-pack?
For those that already got Jyn, I would say it is still worth it. This guy looks different enough from the other Death Trooper. He looks pretty hard core. He comes with the standard modified E-11 blaster rifle and the SE-14 blaster pistol, both molded in grey plastic.
I have already modified my two sets from the Death Troopers I have. I repainted them black and added silver scratches and scrapes as they appear in the movie.
I mentioned before the Long Range Blaster Rifle that the Specialists carry in the movie previews. I went ahead and built my own. I made two, since I figured it would be just as easy as making one, and who knew who was going to have to wield one of these? I made them out of scrap styrene and wire for the piping along the sides.
With the addition of K-2SO, this is a Rebel team that is coming together nicely. I think we are out of Rebels for now. I have some more Imperials coming in soon, and the battle is really going to heat up.
On the exterior side of the wall surrounding the Vegetable Garden at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, you can find these Bee Boles which date from about 1820-40. Bee Boles are vaulted chambers containing straw Skeps to house bees. These were the forerunner of modern beehives. Bees were very important to gardens as they pollinated the plants, supplied honey (which was for most people the only sweetener they could get), and beeswax which in the early part of the 19th century was important as a payment for taxation, especially to the church which used large quantities for candle making.
Like the idea of rotating the camera and getting and angled shot so thought of capturing this in such a way. I think it works.
On our way back from Christchurch to Wellington our bus stopped back in Kaikoura for 25 minutes. The day was as clear as it gets and we were able to get a good view of the marvelous mountains of the Kaikoura range. The sight is simply breath taking.
This was the first time I planned a panorama. (I hadn't planned my Wellington one.) I shot the frames manually to make sure I'd get an even exposition over the 5 frames. It turned pretty well I think, but in retrospect I should have used a smaller aperture.
I really recommend viewing the whole thing large to get all the tasty details.

House of the Teutonic Order
The House of the Teutonic Order was as a Viennese commandry of the in 1198 in Acre founded Teutonic Order under Duke Leopold VI in the early years of the 13th Century built. The German Order was next to the Hospitallers and the Templars the third major order of knights of the Middle Ages. Duke Leopold gave him the large area between Stephansplatz, Churhausgasse, Singerstraße and blood alley (Blutgasse). Documentarily proven is the existence of the house from 1222. Here resided the Landkomtur (province commanders) of the Bailiwick of Austria, to which the commandries Vienna, Wiener Neustadt, Graz, Friesach and Groß-Sonntag (Krain) belonged. In the great fire of 1258 all the religious buildings except the church tower burned down. In the Middle Ages the complex of the German monastic house was limited to the area along the Singerstraße and Blutgasse. 1309 exchanged the Order part of the land that was needed for the extension of Stephen's cemetery against a neighboring area. The sprawling building had in its, the Stephansplatz adjacent part a large farm yard, which was surrounded by stables. Since 1526 the Head of the Order bore the title "Grand and German master (Hoch- und Deutschmeister)". The famous Viennese house regiment of the same name by the way in 1696 emerged from those Truppenkontigenten (contigent of troops) which the Order for the Turkish war had provided. After the first Turkish siege of Vienna, numerous residents of the suburbs whose houses had been burned were housed here. From 1667 the already dilapidated buildings were torn down with the exception of the church under the Landkomtur (province commander) Gottfried Freiherr von Lambert and provided by Carlo Canevale with three-storey new buildings. As plasterers Jacob Schlag and Simon Alio were mentioned. 1679/82 increased Canevale and Johann Bernhard Ceresola the complex.
Sala terrena. In the years 1720-1725 the German religious house under the Landkomtur Guidobald Starhemberg by Anton Erhard Martinelli was further extended and baroquised. In 1785 it received under Landkomtur Alois Graf Harrach by placing a fourth storey its present shape. In the 18th Century several fires caused major damages. Especially those of 1735 raged for three days, because the urban fighting personnel the entry was denied by the German Order of Knights. Among the prominent residents of the German religious house, which in the 18th and 19th century first also as a guest house of the Order served and then was largely rented, included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1781), Johannes Brahms (1863 - 1865) and the comedy writer Cornelius Hermann Paul von Ayrenhoff. At the beginning of the 19th Century on Stephansplatz the German Order Cellar (Deutschordenskeller) was opened. Was in its place in the second half of the 20th Century the Restaurant "Deutsches Haus". Since 1809 the German religious house is the residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. Until then, this one resided in Mergentheim (Baden-Württemberg). From 1864 the Landkomtur Eugen Graf von Haugwitz the church by the cathedral architect from Gran, Josef Lippert, partially had re-gothicised. At that time at the gable above the church windows the already damaged pinnacles and figures were removed. Only the Grand Master coat of arms was left. 1929 the community of the German Teutonic Knights was transformed into a purely religious order. It is one of the very few religious institutions whose top management is not located in Rome. First Grand Master living in Vienna was Archduke Anton Viktor (1804 - 1835).
Church - interior. The House of the Teutonic Order is now a sprawling complex of buildings, grouped around two courtyards. The façade at the Blutgasse is the oldest. Those at the Singerstraße stems from the 17th Century. It represents today the face side of the building. The structuring of the façade by high Baroque inonic giant pilasters followed around 1720. The ground floor is grooved. The two early-Baroque round-arched portals are framed with Tuscan pilasters. The simple façades of the courtyards are held in the style of the 17th Century. On the west side of the pentagonal courtyard on the ground floor walled arched arcades as well as glazed Pawlatschen (access galleries) from the 19th Century on the first floor can be seen. In the courts were various, in 1903 discovered grave plates placed. The ground floor rooms are vaulted, early Baroque lunette barrels and groin vaults prevailing. Among them is the Sala terrene, a with a flat dome vaulted central room which is decorated with illusionistic wall paintings of the late 18th Century. The wall and ceiling frescoes depict mythological scenes and figural ornaments. The hall was once opened to the garden through a portal, but this was later reworked into a window. Presumably Anton Erhard Martinelli also was involved in the planning. The quite gothical appearing church facade is a beautiful example of the baroque tinge of the time after the Gothic period of 18th Century, unique in Austria. In the neo-Gothic restoration of 1864/68 the Baroque dome of the narrow and high tower was replaced by a pointed Gothic helmet. After the church was severely damaged in 1945 by bomb hits, followed its restoration 1946/47. Its vaults possess Gothic stucco decorations. In the Baroque reconstruction in the corners eight galleries were built-in, which are accessible from the apartments situated behind. The Dutch polyptych (1520) comes from Mechelen, but was until 1864 in the St. Mary's Church of Danzig. The altarpiece was created in 1667 by Tobias Pock. In the four corners of the room Evangelists Statues by Johann Hutter (1864) replace the missing sculptures by Giovanni Giuliani from the year 1721. On the walls hang several grave slabs, including an epitaph of the scholar Johannes Cuspinian (1515) and the by Jacob Schletterer created grave monument of the Landkomtur Josef Philipp Graf Harrach. Most of the more than eighty coats of arms of German knights, covering the upper part of the walls were designed by Johann Andreas Frank 1722.

This is the picture of the day for Friday, 2 days ago. I'm sorry I'm hella late on the upload but I had this idea and I really wanted to do it.
On Friday it was the DECA districts awards ceremony. Unfortunately Ryan and myself did not win this year :/ A lot of my friends did and now they move on to State competition and I feel lame as heck being a loser and not winning.
but anyways, after a long talk with my dad the next day, I realized a lot. I have no one to blame for losing but myself (and maybe Ryan haha). We honestly didn't put our hardest effort into the paper. We met up like once and then did the rest in class from time to time. admittedly our paper this year was pretty much a dummed down version of last years paper.
In this picture that is what I tried to show. Part of me really wanted to go, the business deca part of me. But another part of me, the regular sometimes (most the time) lazy part of me held me back from getting the trophy (that is mine and Ryan's trophy from last year btw).
I got a really big head in DECA from all the love that I get. and this loss really put things into perspective. Ryan and I were the success stories of last year. and honestly, we tried but its not like we killed ourselves writing the paper last year. We tried taking the same relaxed just getting by road this year too, but it didn't work out. But i'm glad it didn't, cause if it had worked out, I probably woulda continued to have that same attitude in other future projects.
This loss made me realize that even though I didn't win, I always have the potential to and it is up to me to showcase it.

House of the Teutonic Order
The House of the Teutonic Order was as a Viennese commandry of the in 1198 in Acre founded Teutonic Order under Duke Leopold VI in the early years of the 13th Century built. The German Order was next to the Hospitallers and the Templars the third major order of knights of the Middle Ages. Duke Leopold gave him the large area between Stephansplatz, Churhausgasse, Singerstraße and blood alley (Blutgasse). Documentarily proven is the existence of the house from 1222. From 1667 the already dilapidated buildings were torn down with the exception of the church under the Landkomtur (province commander) Gottfried Freiherr von Lambert and provided by Carlo Canevale with three-storey new buildings. As plasterers Jacob Schlag and Simon Alio were mentioned. 1679/82 increased Canevale and Johann Bernhard Ceresola the complex.
