We don't have much in the way of public parks in Lexington; so when people want to see some green space that isn't a soccer pitch or a horse farm, they come to the Lexington Cemetery. It's about as beautiful as a cemetery can get, and ALMOST makes up for the lack of parks.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

The first photos from a very special, hard to get and almost unknown camera:
Olympus Auto electro-set (1958 - 1959)
1958
was the appearance year of the Olympus Auto electro-set
Olympus wrote in the manual:
This camera is the result of the gained experience.
That means, this camera is very special.
To me this is the very beginning of the Olympus 35 coupled exposure meter rangefinder cameras, but with many special details that no other Olympus rangefinder camera ever had again. Its incredible that this camera is so unkown even by Olympus fans.
In 1958 the Olympus Auto was then the only camera in the world with coupled exposure meter that when the shutter speed dial was rotated, the aperture was also changed to maintain the same light value, but when the aperture dial was rotated, only the aperture setting was changed.
At that time Olympus made history many times, and this one was the only with this kind of versatility.
Based on the ACE body an amazing camera was developed by engineers with no limits.
Again supplied with a fixed lens (E. Zuiko 1:1,8 f = 4,2 cm) the camera had got a coupled Selenium light meter with a hinged cover over the meter cell.
A buster-cell* could be connected for better measurements. The plug was on the front right under the meter cell.
The round ASA scale window was on the back, the ASA setting was done by pressing a lever and rotating the aperture ring.
For exact exposure, the shutter speed must preset and the aperture ring, according to the meter reading, turned.
Multi exposure* was possible by pushing a small lever at the back.
If the camera was loaded, the film transport could be watched in a small window* next to the viewfinder.
Rewind knob and camera back safety was placed at the base plate and luxuriously constructed.
The large viewfinder window with bright frame, combined with the coupled rangefinder with parallax compensation* for the best possible picture sharpness. A lever at the distance ring made focusing easier.
There was a special connection for fixing the carrying belt.
* The only Olympus rangefinder camera that had these features, and it was from 1958! Not even the 35 SP have them and the build quality of this camera.

Bags Bunny - creation of NibblahFrog & CelticRanger
A demented stuffed animal monster, Bags is essentially a giant puffy sack made entirely of a spandex and plush. Playful and energetic, Bags lives to share her bouncy outlook on life, and will try to play with anyone she meets, even if they don't want it. If they aren't fun enough for her, she will use her ears like whips to smack them around like they are nothing more than playthings to her.
When Bags catches someone, she will try to feed them a carrot - a special carrot she makes that makes whoever eats them uncontrollably bouncy and giddy, and hungry for more. Like a drug addict they will do anything for another carrot, unaware that they start to warp the victims' mind and prepares them for eventual absorption.
A giant zipper runs down Bags' belly, and another zipper keeps her mouth closed. Bags has a sweet tooth for humans, and once she is done playing she will either swallow the person down or just zip open her belly and stuff them in. Once inside, the soft plush interior makes a cozy home. Bags feeds on kinetic energy, so once trapped she makes her victims more and more bouncy, creating and special zipper so the person can stick their head out so Bags can feed them more of the energizing carrots. The more carrots they eat, the bouncier they are, the more power Bags gets and the closer they become to being turned into plump pink bunnies and finally absorbed into her plush.
Bags also chooses special victims to put into her womb, a special pouch between her legs. Once chosen, her paws secrete a spandex webbing that encases the victim inside a giant carrot-shaped cocoon. Then opening her pouch, she slowly presses them in and seals them shut. Over a week Bags rubs and caresses her prey, the cocoon pumped with carrot puree as the constant rush warps their mind and body. When done, Bags opens her pouch to reveal a new Bags Bunny, powerful yet obedient to the original.
C&EI GP-35 257 (29650 9/64) 1966 leads nb freight @ Terre Haute IN on a hazy early spring day in 1966.
While I am not normally a fan of black and white paint jobs (sorry PC or N&W fans), C&EI was an exception. Those safety stripes sure were attention-getting and the engine numbers could be read by the most myopic railfan-or towerman.
but what do we mean by nature? the distinction between artificial and natural is so hazy... people often think of green fields as natural, and cities as artificial. but compared to virgin rainforest the green fields are about as artificial as it gets...
and then there is 'nature' as reinstated by diggers and JCBs, (almost) complete with impossibly fluffy clouds and flora and fauna that can only survive when tended carefully by a host of caretakers... this cartoon picture of nature can sometimes feel more natural than 'nature' itself... i suppose.
well... anyway, there is a big bit of construction equipment being used to dig foundations for a building behind this wall. It seemed strange to hear building noises in this otherwise organic environment.

Now I'm not expecting you to get any kind of identifying information from the photo as it is a terrible shot (though I welcome any enhancement anybody might be able to provide) and the only one I was able to get... and I took it through my binoculars as my camera has no zoom close to capable of capturing tiny lorikeets in the top of a Norfolk Island Pine. ;-)
These guys, a flock of about 25, flew into a Pine I can see from my lounge room window and immediately caught my notice because their calls were not those of the Rainbow Lorikeets that are so prevalent in my area. My initial 'gut' reaction to the call was Purple-crowned Lorikeets which I have heard before, but only the once, and only far down south around Augusta. I don't know if they occur in the Perth suburbs as such. They were definitely smaller than Rainbow Lorikeets and had a much sweeter, softer call but still quite metallic "tziet, tziet" like that of Purple-crowns. They eventually flew right over my house and while they did fly "straight" like lorikeets do, they did have a slight wheel and bob as they went.
They landed in a smaller Pine in my street and I went outside with binocs and camera and got the shot pictured. They were generally uniform appley-olively green with a distinct bright orange band immediately above the beak though I couldn't pick up any purple band above that or orange patches to the cheeks which are other diagnostic features of Purple-crowned Lorikeets. But that may have just been due to them being strongly silhouetted against the sky... and immature birds can lack the purple band. Wherever they landed they would all bundle up close to each other and almost pile on top of each other where branches came together at the trunk. Eventhough it was the middle of the day and more than 38°C.
So, there were definite superficial and "gut" ID's for Purple-crowns, but I don't know if they are found this far from Eucalypt forests and they didn't seem dusky enough in colouration... I almost got a Lovebird vibe from them, and as I said they were ever so slightly closer to apple green than olive/blue-green. But I don't know anything about Lovebirds, or whether we have feral populations of them in the Western Suburbs. Whatever they were, I have never seen them in Cottesloe before... and it was quite exciting. =)
So what do people think? Anybody with experience with Purple-crowns or Lovebirds like to weigh in?
Cottesloe, January 2011.
This series complements my award-winning guidebook, Chicago in Stone and Clay: A Guide to the Windy City's Architectural Geology. Henceforth I'll just call it CSC.
The CSC section and page reference for the building featured here: 5.7; pp. 47-50.
Looking at a planter along the sidewalk just west of the main-entrance plaza of 1 Prudential Plaza ("One Pru").
This photo is featured in black-and-white form in CSC. Here it complements the Part 8 and Part 9 images. Those shots and their accompanying descriptions feature this notable granitoid rock type, the Silurian-period Støren Trondhjemite, where it's mounted on a vertical wall facing the entrance. I invite you to read their descriptions, which provide a good overview of how the stone was delivered to Chicago, and how, according to a leading hypothesis, it formed in the first place.
Here, however, the Støren forms the rim of a planter that contained, on this particular autumn day, cold-tolerant purple-leaved Ornamental Kales (Brassica oleracea Acephala Group cv.) and Miniature Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum × morifolium cv.). I like the way one of the little Mini-Mum heads is sticking out among its big neighbors to see what's going on.
This particular batch of the Støren Trondhjemite is particularly significant because it, unlike the stone on the wall already shown, has very distinct flow banding. This pattern is superficially similar to foliation, but here no metamorphism is involved. Flow banding is often observed in extrusive lavas, but in this case, where the igneous rock is intrusive, it's caused by currents within the subterranean magma body or by different minerals separating out in a process known as fractionation.
In the geological literature, this sort of intrusive flow banding is sometimes referred to as fluxion banding instead.
For more on this site, get and read Chicago in Stone and Clay, described at its Cornell University Press webpage.
The other photos and discussions in this series can be found in my "Chicago in Stone and Clay" Companion album. In addition, you'll find other relevant images and descriptions in my Architectural Geology: Chicago album.

OpenGroupware.org is an Open Source collaborative software (groupware) server for multiple clients. It is mostly written in Objective C and uses PostgreSQL and Apache. OpenGroupware.org is built on code released in 2003 by SKYRIX Software AG, it represents a product that has been under development since 1996.
OpenGroupware.org differs from many other groupware offerings in that it is not only a suite of bundled collaboration applications but focuses on providing a platform for groupware solutions through the use of standard protocols and XML based APIs. Accordingly projects to support clients such as Kontact and Novell Evolution via GroupDAV, are either complete or underway. Synchronization of mobile devices is supported via BionicMessages' GroupDAV connector for the Funambol DS server. The zOGI XML-RPC API enables easy integration with existing custom applications. OpenGroupware.org has been used as groupware platform to build CRM and scheduling solutions in conjunction with other Open Source software including LAMP and Mono.
Development of the Novell Evolution connector was arranged by Toltech Solutions.

OGO (Outdoor Gravity Orb) is the latest adventure activity to hit the United States. The OGO is a ten foot ball with a six foot interior ball that is used to ride down hills. If you close your eyes and imagine being in a hampser ball sized for humans you will now have a good mental image of The OGO. There are two ways to Ride The OGO;
First, you can ride the H2OGO. The H2OGO has five to ten gallons of water added to the interior ball, up to three people dive into the ball and ride down the hill for one of the craziest experiences ever. It has been described like being in a washing machine and a roller coaster at the same time. The great part about the H2OGO is that all family members can enjoy the ride. Mom, Dad, and a kid; Mom and two kids, everyone of all ages have the same emotional journey of laughter and exileration. To see some crazy video footage from inside The OGO and meet the man behind the company.[1]
The second way to ride the OGO is to get strapped into a harness that centralizes the weight and flip head over heals, seeing grass, sky, grass, sky as you ride down hill. The single harness OGO is called the IGO and consists of a seven point harness system, securing both feet, shoulders, waist, and grips for both hands. Considered by many to be as close to orbiting in space as you can get. And if that sounds crazy, don't just ride by yourself, ride with a friend the in the first 7 point double harness which is called the WEGO.
To get a better handle or idea of the latest adventure activity for all the family, go to the Outdoor Gravity website. The first OGO Park in the United States has been constructed and is currently open just north of Boston in Massachusetts, at The Amesbury Sports Park.
The kids are in charge of getting and serving the lunches at school. They did this with no fuss or adult input.
Rare, if not unique, photo of me in my brief acting days in an improvisational theater company in the Bronx. About as off-Broadway as you can get and still be in New York. Early 1980's.
Pacino, De Niro, and Travolta had little to worry about.

I took this shot on a Saturday so the area was clear of people, it was taken at the Diamond Exchange area in Ramat Gan Israel, its a great place to take photos of with some amazing reflections from all the buildings around and lots of geometric shapes. My wide angle had a ball, and got some flare going from pointing directly at the sun.
How it was shot:
* Tripod
* 5 exposures (-4, -2, 0, +2, +4 EV,) autobracketed and merged to get and HDR
* Camera: Nikon D7000
* Lens: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED DX (shot at 10mm)
Steps Taken
* Preparation: developed the raw files with Adobe Camera Raw (CA + Lens Corrections)
* Resulting images (5x TIFF) + Topaz Denoise on each TIFF, then imported to Photomatix
* Tone-mapping: Photomatix Pro 4.1.1
Photoshop Post Processing Steps:
* Topaz Adjust
* Topaz DeNoise
* Selective Sharpening using Topaz Remask + in focus
* Selective Saturation & Levels to Sky, Blocks, Water, Buildings
* Global saturation layer
* Global curves layer

House of the Teutonic Order
The House of the Teutonic Order was as a Viennese commandry of the in 1198 in Acre founded Teutonic Order under Duke Leopold VI in the early years of the 13th Century built. The German Order was next to the Hospitallers and the Templars the third major order of knights of the Middle Ages. Duke Leopold gave him the large area between Stephansplatz, Churhausgasse, Singerstraße and blood alley (Blutgasse). Documentarily proven is the existence of the house from 1222. Here resided the Landkomtur (province commanders) of the Bailiwick of Austria, to which the commandries Vienna, Wiener Neustadt, Graz, Friesach and Groß-Sonntag (Krain) belonged. In the great fire of 1258 all the religious buildings except the church tower burned down. In the Middle Ages the complex of the German monastic house was limited to the area along the Singerstraße and Blutgasse. 1309 exchanged the Order part of the land that was needed for the extension of Stephen's cemetery against a neighboring area. The sprawling building had in its, the Stephansplatz adjacent part a large farm yard, which was surrounded by stables. Since 1526 the Head of the Order bore the title "Grand and German master (Hoch- und Deutschmeister)". The famous Viennese house regiment of the same name by the way in 1696 emerged from those Truppenkontigenten (contigent of troops) which the Order for the Turkish war had provided. After the first Turkish siege of Vienna, numerous residents of the suburbs whose houses had been burned were housed here. From 1667 the already dilapidated buildings were torn down with the exception of the church under the Landkomtur (province commander) Gottfried Freiherr von Lambert and provided by Carlo Canevale with three-storey new buildings. As plasterers Jacob Schlag and Simon Alio were mentioned. 1679/82 increased Canevale and Johann Bernhard Ceresola the complex.
Sala terrena. In the years 1720-1725 the German religious house under the Landkomtur Guidobald Starhemberg by Anton Erhard Martinelli was further extended and baroquised. In 1785 it received under Landkomtur Alois Graf Harrach by placing a fourth storey its present shape. In the 18th Century several fires caused major damages. Especially those of 1735 raged for three days, because the urban fighting personnel the entry was denied by the German Order of Knights. Among the prominent residents of the German religious house, which in the 18th and 19th century first also as a guest house of the Order served and then was largely rented, included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1781), Johannes Brahms (1863 - 1865) and the comedy writer Cornelius Hermann Paul von Ayrenhoff. At the beginning of the 19th Century on Stephansplatz the German Order Cellar (Deutschordenskeller) was opened. Was in its place in the second half of the 20th Century the Restaurant "Deutsches Haus". Since 1809 the German religious house is the residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. Until then, this one resided in Mergentheim (Baden-Württemberg). From 1864 the Landkomtur Eugen Graf von Haugwitz the church by the cathedral architect from Gran, Josef Lippert, partially had re-gothicised. At that time at the gable above the church windows the already damaged pinnacles and figures were removed. Only the Grand Master coat of arms was left. 1929 the community of the German Teutonic Knights was transformed into a purely religious order. It is one of the very few religious institutions whose top management is not located in Rome. First Grand Master living in Vienna was Archduke Anton Viktor (1804 - 1835).
Church - interior. The House of the Teutonic Order is now a sprawling complex of buildings, grouped around two courtyards. The façade at the Blutgasse is the oldest. Those at the Singerstraße stems from the 17th Century. It represents today the face side of the building. The structuring of the façade by high Baroque inonic giant pilasters followed around 1720. The ground floor is grooved. The two early-Baroque round-arched portals are framed with Tuscan pilasters. The simple façades of the courtyards are held in the style of the 17th Century. On the west side of the pentagonal courtyard on the ground floor walled arched arcades as well as glazed Pawlatschen (access galleries) from the 19th Century on the first floor can be seen. In the courts were various, in 1903 discovered grave plates placed. The ground floor rooms are vaulted, early Baroque lunette barrels and groin vaults prevailing. Among them is the Sala terrene, a with a flat dome vaulted central room which is decorated with illusionistic wall paintings of the late 18th Century. The wall and ceiling frescoes depict mythological scenes and figural ornaments. The hall was once opened to the garden through a portal, but this was later reworked into a window. The tract between Stephansplatz and Blutgasse encloses two two-aisled halls. While the cross vault of the first ones is resting on sturdy pillars is those of the other ones supported by Tuscan columns. In the partially with Rococo and Neoclassical stucco ceilings provided rooms of the first floor are located the library and archives of the Order with documents and books dating back to the 12th Century. Some beautifully crafted wood cabinets were personally manufactured by the Grand and Deutschmeister Archduke Eugen. In the treasure chamber on the second floor are in addition to religious insignias and paintings, inter alia, parts of the Kunstkammer (Art chamber) of the Grand Master Archduke Maximilian III of Austria from the time about 1600 exposed.
Church - Empore. Attention getter and center of the tract at the Singerstraße are the three tall lancet windows of the church of the Teutonic Order. The first chapel already in 1258 fell victim to a town fire. From 1326 it was replaced by Jörg von Schiffering by a new building yet today the core of the Church of the Teutonic Order forming. At that time this one was still but free on three sides. In 1375 it was dedicated to St. Elizabeth. Guidobald Starhemberg 1720/22 the Chapel had remodelled in the Baroque style and flanked at both longitudinal sides by newly built religious houses, by which the three stained glass windows became the central projection of the House of the Teutonic Order. Presumably Anton Erhard Martinelli also was involved in the planning. The quite gothical appearing church facade is a beautiful example of the baroque tinge of the time after the Gothic period of 18th Century, unique in Austria. In the neo-Gothic restoration of 1864/68 the Baroque dome of the narrow and high tower was replaced by a pointed Gothic helmet. After the church was severely damaged in 1945 by bomb hits, followed its restoration 1946/47. Its vaults possess Gothic stucco decorations. In the Baroque reconstruction in the corners eight galleries were built-in, which are accessible from the apartments situated behind. The Dutch polyptych (1520) comes from Mechelen, but was until 1864 in the St. Mary's Church of Danzig. The altarpiece was created in 1667 by Tobias Pock. In the four corners of the room Evangelists Statues by Johann Hutter (1864) replace the missing sculptures by Giovanni Giuliani from the year 1721. On the walls hang several grave slabs, including an epitaph of the scholar Johannes Cuspinian (1515) and the by Jacob Schletterer created grave monument of the Landkomtur Josef Philipp Graf Harrach. Most of the more than eighty coats of arms of German knights, covering the upper part of the walls were designed by Johann Andreas Frank 1722.

Make up your Mind to Make a Difference
We’ve made up our mind to make a difference and unleashing human potential is our mission. Here’s how we do it…The Philanthropy of TheDOJO through Project Based Leadership Training. If someone is looking to make a difference in our world a simple start is performing an act of kindness for a child (most likely it will be remember throughout their life). Donate a toy with us this holiday season, see how below.
20,000 Smiles
Last year TheDOJO Toy Drive raised 230 toys for Toys for Tots, a military organization who distributes the toys to children who are without. Last year 20,000 toys were handed out, that equates to 20,000 smiles of children. What better way to instill a sense of hope in a child’s heart than through compassion? Toys for Tots also donates, all throughout the year, toys to children in our locality that are victims of disasters such as storms and house fires.

I finally said *bleep* it and ordered myself a Steam Powered Giraffe hoodie. I mean, with all the snow we’ve been getting and the sub-zero temps that seem to happen on the days it isn’t snowing, I felt that I needed something a little more substantial than my SPG T-shirt and bracelets. Luckily for me, SPG has hoodies!
And, luckily for me, they come in sizes up to 3XL. I’m plus-size. And by “plus-size”, I mean: VERY plus-size. Ordering a hoodie for myself is usually a hit-or-miss when it comes to sizes. But this 3XL zip-front hoodie is a perfect fit. [For the record- I wear a size 24W in jeans (for those of you who understand sizes) and I’m more comfortable in a 4XL shirt but my actual size is 2XL or 3XL (depending on manufacturer- and this hoodie has room in it on me).]
Not only am I gargantuan in my rotundness, I have a chronic pain illness (which contributes to the aforementioned rotundness) that sometimes flares up in ways that cause clothing to actually hurt my skin. Those are the days that I’d rather lay around naked under two fleece blankets and not deal with clothes at all. But this SPG hoodie is loose enough and so extremely soft that I could throw this on with a pair of yoga pants and join the Land of the Living downstairs in the living room instead of locking myself in my dimly-lit boudoir, lamenting how terrible I feel and that the pain meds aren’t working. By being able to put on soft, loose clothing, I can be in the parts of the house where other people dwell so when I whine about stuff, it gets heard. Well, it gets ignored, but I don’t feel like I’m completely losing my mind if I speak in a room where another person happens to be.
So, if you’ve been putting off getting yourself that Steam Powered Giraffe hoodie because you weren’t sure if it would fit on your massive rotundness, rest assured, it fits my mASSive ample-ness.
He was born on September 6th, 1926 and lived in the 15 mile/Rochester road area of Troy Michigan most of his life (until us kids came along) He left school before graduating and served in the army during WWII. He married his teenage sweetheart (my mom) and proceeded to make babies :) Six of us!
He was to me (and really, still is) in every way the perfect embodiment of what a good man/husband/father /friend and person should be. Time and time again, even when I didn't like it, he gave me and my sibling’s good examples of what was the right way to do things. Of how to step up. To be honest and take responsibility. To be a good provider and get up every day and go to work no matter how much his arthritis was hurting him so us six kids had clothes on our backs, food in our stomach’s and presents under our Christmas tree. He was there for his kids sporting events, school plays and parent teacher conferences. He worked all the overtime he could get and still made time to play catch or hockey with us. He let us help work on the car even though he could have done it much faster by himself. He did not like rock music but he still came to my first and many other early gigs. He and my uncles would get together and play harmonica and joke and laugh into the early hours on occasion. He helped me get a job where he worked and helped teach me a trade. He was a fair disciplinarian and an understanding confidant when needed. He had a wonderful sense of humor but could be dead serious when the time called for it. He never meddled in his adult kids’ lives but was always there with the right advice when asked. He was a great guy, a great dad and a great granddad too. (Really, all kids loved him) And he was taken from us far too soon. It’s been almost nine years now, though it seems much shorter. I think of him often and visit his resting place when I can. He is in the shade of a huge Elm tree with his favorite bird, the Cardinal on his stone. In his pocket is a harmonica I placed there at our last goodbye… I hope I hear him play it someday…
He was my dad and a great inspiration: Howard Worrell. I love and miss him. This is dedicated to his memory. Happy Father’s Day Dad :)

“A concise poem about our work as stated elow
A place without being
a thought without thinking
creatively, two dimensions
suspended animation
possibly a perfect imitation
of what was then to see.
A frozen memory in synthetic colour
or black and white instead,
fantasy dreams in magazines
become imbedded inside my head.
Artistic views
surrealistic hues,
a photographer’s instinctive eye:
for he does as he pleases
up to that point he releases,
then develops a visual high.

Shannon Class Lifeboats
The 13.6m (44 ft 7 in) Shannon is the latest class to join the RNLI’s All-weather lifeboat fleet and is the first to be propelled by waterjets making it a very agile and manoeuvrable craft that has excellent shallow draft capabilities.
As a testament to Berthon’s build quality, the prototype vessel (RNLI 13-01 Jock and Annie Slater) was accepted into the relief fleet with only minor design changes. The build process, designed by Berthon, has allowed us to build up to 6 vessels a year using the latest lean management manufacturing techniques. This has been so successful it has been adopted by the RNLI to continue building the Shannon Class at the All-Weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole.
Charles Hunter-Pease, Chairman of the RNLI, talks here in a video about the Shannon build stating that “Every single person in Berthon gets involved and discharges their responsibility to ensure that we receive a world class product. It’s proof because the crews are very proud of the boats that they get and, so far, in the last 30 years, Berthon lifeboats have saved 584 lives. They’ve also brought ashore something like 20 times that number; so Berthon boats have saved the equivalent of the population of Lymington.”
For more detail on the work Berthon has performed with the RNLI on the Shannon Lifeboat please see the marine services case studies page.
A demonstration of the exceptional manoeuvrability of waterjet-driven yachts.
An RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat fitted with Hamilton HJ364 Waterjets combined with the power of 2 Scania Di13 12.7 litre engines with over 650 horsepower. This demonstration shows the slow speed agility as well as the controlled turn of pace given by the waterjet propulsion system.

This photo has been shared on the various websites and social networks a couple times since I took it back in Dec 2010. I keep returning to this photo and reworking it with new tools I get and with a new, and hopefully more experienced, eye. There's no getting around it; I love this photo. TheDiet Chronicles Documents an example of healthy eating or rather mindful eating. An idea of a way one "could" eat as a means to eat healthy and enjoy the process. As black belts and martial artist we are aware that Heart Disease is the number one cause of death among Americans and 1 out of 3 people will develop Type 2 Diabetes. It only makes sense then to make Healthy Eating a part of any self-defense program. Statistics show more people will be hurt by what's on their plate than they ever will be by a punch, kick, throw, or grappling match. Learning martial art techniques is important but where it stops the self-discipline of eating healthy and mindfully begins. Just an idea we explore and one that I ask my students to explore as well.
