This blanket is a generous size at 35inx34in. It is made from acrylic yarn in various colors that is very soft and also easy to wash. It is lightweight but very warm. The colors are bright white, purple, pink, green, blue and yellow. The body of the blanket is knit with a crochet edging.

This is a bright and fun design that would be beautiful for any baby. This was such fun to make because the blanket was always changing!

Machine wash cold, preferably in a zippered bag or pillowcase. This prevents pulls in the yarn. Machine dry low or air. Also can be hand washed and lay flat to dry.

At the Elizabeth Board of Education meeting of May 10 at Juan Pablo Duarte - José Julián Martí School No. 28, Taneka Bowles presented Elizabeth Public Schools with a very generous donation of $25,000 on behalf of Taneka and Todd Bowles for Elizabeth’s Special Olympics program. This marks the fourth straight year the Bowles family has supported the district’s Special Olympics program, raising the total to $100,000 in donations.

The evening also took on a multicultural theme as the Board recognized the Cuban, Haitian, and Portuguese heritages.

In honor of Cuban heritage, Juan Pablo Duarte - José Julián Martí School No. 28 Kindergarten students performed “Mambo numero 8” by Damaso Perez and “Mi Tierra” by Gloria Estefan and community members Julio Sabater, Miguel Socarras, and Marita De Varona were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community.

In honor of Haitian heritage, John E. Dwyer Technology Academy student Kerline Francois performed a lyrical solo to "Human" Written by Christine Perry and the Dwyer Technology Academy Haitian Club was recognized for its commitment to promoting the beauty of the Haitian culture through educational and social opportunities available within the school environment.

In honor of Portuguese heritage, Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy students Karina Almeida and Tiago Matos performed “Vira do Minho”, Danca E Cantares De Portugal from the Portuguese Instructive Social Club performed a Portuguese folklore dance, Portuguese world language teachers were recognized for their outstanding efforts to instill the passion of the Portuguese culture into our students, and the Elizabeth Portugal Day Pageant 2018-2019 Royal Family was recognized for their contributions to the Elizabeth community.

Juan Pablo Duarte - José Julián Martí School No. 28 Principal Evelyn Rodriguez-Salcedo presented to the Board the approach she has taken to be able to address various issues that resulted in School No. 28 being designated a Focus School by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE). In April 2012, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s administration announced the final list of Priority, Focus, and Reward Schools as part of its new statewide accountability system, which included 183 Focus Schools. A Focus School is a school that has room for improvement in areas that are specific to the school. As part of the process, Focus Schools receive targeted and tailored solutions to meet the school’s unique needs. The types of Focus schools include those with low graduation rates, largest within-school gaps, and lowest subgroup performance.

As a result of this approach by Rodriguez-Salcedo and the team members of School No. 28, the NJDOE has announced that School No. 28 will be exiting Focus School status in June 2018.

During the meeting, the Board celebrated and recognized excellent achievements of members of the Elizabeth Public Schools Professional Learning Community and the greater Elizabeth community.

I had a terrific day playing for Little Munden at Thundridge in Division 6 of the Essex and Herts Cricket League. Both teams played with a great spirit.

Unfortunately, this is our score (87 runs for 5 wickets, off 27 overs). We were chasing 209 off 45 overs. We were all out for 137.

Here's Kathy (pippaandpom)'s little girl. Just chilling with Baby Hedgehog in her new tomato outfit & strawberry hat. Ready for the Toronto Spooky Meet.

Too lazy to drive to the mountains to take part in an incredible morel season, I was very happy when a pile arrived by mail today. Lucky I have talented and generous friends!

Thank you to all participants of and generous donors at the ESCP Europe Bicentenary Fundraising Gala. A fabulous €200,000 was raised in the 200th year of ESCP Europe, contributing to the School's Scholarship Programme.

100 guests gathered this year at the Four Seasons Park Lane for a wonderful evening sponsored by 17Capital and Accuracy. A cocktail reception with champagne premier cru Frerejean Freres was followed by an absolutely delicious dinner.

Adrian Biddell hosted the live auction of impressive lots, kindly donated by Pierre Guénant (Class of 72), Erwan Faiveley (Class of 03), Cartier, Claudie Haignere and W. Salamoon & Sons.

After an address by Christian Mouillon, President of the ESCP Europe Foundation, and testimonials from two Bachelor in Management (BSc) scholarship students, Julia Fladrich and Maya Caroti, around 20 alumni pledged their support to the ESCP Europe Scholarship Programme for close to €100k.

On behalf of the scholarship students and all the ESCP Europe community, THANK YOU!

Thanks to the generous donation of a tree and decorations by Support Our American Recruits, the 401st has a Christmas Tree. It's been a popular place to pose for photos and taking a minute away from the job.

About the 401st:

The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.

Feeling incredibly grateful for a casual hike I got to take today with family. It's the last "real" hike I'll probably get in before knee surgery in less than a week, which will immobilize me for a while. First time I got out to Buddy's Grave this season and the wildflowers up there are amazing. Oh, and the mountain views, of course.

A big thank you to the participants and generous donors of the first ESCP Europe Fundraising Gala in London last week. An impressive £220,000 was raised which will contribute greatly to the ESCP Europe Scholarship Programme.

Over 100 guests gathered at the Four Seasons Park Lane for a wonderful evening sponsored by Ondra Partners and New End Associates. A cocktail reception was offered, serving champagne premier cru Frerejean Freres, and was followed by a gourmet autumn dinner.

The auction, led by Adrian Biddell, spurred great interest for the wonderful lots donated by Pierre Guénant (72), Olivia de Posson (06), Jean-Pierre Raffarin (72), Christian Marti (93), and W. Salamoon & Sons.

Around 15 alumni pledged their support to the ESCP Europe Scholarship Programme for the equivalent of eight years of study or a total amount of £120,000.

This unprecedented mobilisation demonstrates the unity and dynamism of the ESCP Europe alumni network. It also shows its commitment to support the School's growing momentum, forging a path to become the number one business school in Europe with a truly global reach.

On behalf of the scholarship students and all the ESCP Europe community, thank you!

My lovely, generous husband bought me a new pair of running shoes. I think he's trying to tell me something. He also kindly took me for a run tonight. It's been years since I went for a run but I managed a comfortable 22 minutes. Something tells me I'll struggle to get out of bed tomorrow morning.

The official pictures from the RSA's 2013 Benjamin Franklin Medal ceremony - presented to Walter Isaacson in New York City.

The award dinner was made possible in part by the generosity of members of the Benjamin Franklin Medal Committee.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the RSA-US Challenge Fund and RSA-US Student Design Awards Program, two foundation blocks of the core initiatives of the RSA in the United States. Both of these programs are going into their second year, and both have an impressive track record of inspiring and empowering young social innovators – perhaps among them a future Benjamin Franklin Medalist.

The Benjamin Franklin Medal has a rich history dating back to its inaugural year of 1956, the 250th anniversary of Franklin’s birth and the 200th anniversary of his membership to the RSA. It is awarded to individuals, groups and organizations who have made profound efforts to forward social progress in areas closely linked to the RSA’s agenda. Winners over the years have included General Colin Powell, Senator George Mitchell, Dame Judi Dench, Peter Ustinov, Margot Fonteyn, and David Attenborough. Long time Fellows will remember the Medal presentation to William Hewlett under the stars at Menlo College; or the moving speech given by UK Ambassador to the UN Sir Jeremy Greenstock at the event honoring Phil Lader just a few weeks after 9/11.

Each celebration is unique, and every medalist inspires us in a different way.

UN Women, through generous support from the Government of Japan through the Japan Supplementary Budget, is currently implementing the multi-country project “Women’s Leadership, Empowerment, Access & Protection in Crisis Response (LEAP) -South Sudan Displacement and Refugee Crisis”.

The one-year project is part of a regional response that is being implemented by UN Women offices in Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan, which are currently hosting refugees estimated at 537,504 (Ethiopia: 422,240, Kenya: 115,264) and internally displaced persons (IDPs). According to the South Sudan 2018 Humanitarian Needs Overview, there are around 1.9 million IDPs in the country, 210,000 persons in protection of civilian sites (PoC) and an estimated 2.1 refugees in neighboring countries.

The overall goal of this project is to ensure that women and girls affected by the South Sudan displacement and refugee crisis lead, participate in, are empowered by and benefit from response and recovery efforts.

UN Women Kenya, through the Government of Japan, is responding to the needs of women and girls in humanitarian crisis by contextualizing the UN Women global LEAP flagship programme to promote resilience, restore dignity and provide durable solutions to women and girls within the humanitarian- development nexus in Kenya.
