Hannibal was a Carthaginian general and statesman who commanded the forces of Carthage in their battle against the Roman Republic during the Second Punic War. He became such a figure of terror that, whenever disaster threatened, Romans would exclaim "Hannibal ad portas" ("Hannibal is at the gates!") to emphasize the gravity of the emergency, a phrase still used in modern languages today.

“God has given to man no sharper spur to victory than contempt of death. I will either find a way, or I will make one.” - Hannibal

A few weeks ago, I got to spend some time up on the St. Joe Sub after a concert in Atchison, and when I saw the signals indicating a northbound on its way, I set up for a shot at the Platte River bridge near Farley, MO (flic.kr/p/2nTCLCn).

Much to my surprise, the northbound turned out to be a Warbonnet solo shot, the BNSF 717 leading a Siemens generator on a depressed-center flat car. This was the J-MEMOMA, and it was heading to a new CNG power plant in Omaha. From there, I chased it north to the East Leavenworth siding, hoping to get some SCREAMING afternoon sun on it. Alas, it had to wait on a (flic.kr/p/2nTDnZn) that took just long enough to let the sun set below the western horizon. Hhh... oh, well. I'm still happy to have shot this rare move.

Unsure if this is a '39 Ford Deluxe or a '40 Ford Standard. I don't really know the difference.

So at last I can reveal the shield generator! However I have a confession: It's only half a shield generator. And at that, the two rings I have built are only finished on one side. It will take many more Bricklink orders to complete. I added some flames to suggest the empire at in the middle of destroying it! I hope you enjoy what I've done so far. I'll be displaying it at a show in Ireland next weekend.

The Deep Dream Generator just added a Text 2 Dream tool. In this series of four images, I tried a few failed prompts from NightCafe. One turned out a lot better, one worse, and one about the same.

We got hammered pretty good with the white fluffy stuff over the weekend. With the plows not being able to keep up, as well as a few power outages, you can imagine that there where issues on the mainlines. CP had a slow order in for the Buckskin area do to the heavily packed snow at the CR17 crossing, and the last I heard CN was sending out a rescue crew for a dead 107 at Dock Siding at around 1730 (update: just heard they are still waiting at 1915). When I left home base sometime around 1pm (after dealing with my own snow issues) I had heard the 107 and VIA were still down at Brechin.

Another late-day scenario, but this time locally with the 113 between Medonte and Buckskin - where the foreman was firing up the generators. I was lucky to catch this train just prior to dusk, and with a Norfolk Southern EMD unit trailing. I would not have been happy watching that go by in the darkness! In addition I was able to capture an incoming snowblast close up which all combined really made my weekend.

Second day of our trip to my wife´s grandfathers. As we drove home we got this absolutly amazing look on the wind generators and sunset. It was hard to choose which image to show today, so I decided to put in two images once more.

Anyone who thinks he did not mean what he did is a fool...he has been supporting 'Nazi' style far right parties in the UK, Germany via X. Richest man on earth or not a Nazi is a Nazi and he needs to be boycotted, any company that deals with him should cut ties with him or face the same boycott. Trump needs to make a public address rebuking him, but he won't because he is the new Hitler. Proud boys marching through the streets of DC, the very city that trash attacked. What you saw on the 20th Jan 2025 was America taking the first steps to becoming a Fascist country. Next they will be telling you it's your duty to inform on your family members and neighbours if they are branded 'undesirable' for whatever reason. God help you all.

Just noticed this is a repeat but it still seems to draw a little interest so I'll leave it up.
