My lockdown hobby continues to grow as my second alter ego (alter alter ego?) Vlad the Generator on YouTube. This is a video screenshot.
A snapshot from a walk around the local lanes recently.

The end is near as the demo crew strips the power house. Plans to redevelop the 750 acre site are moving ahead. For now it's a sad area to view especially during an overcast morning.
This DC generator (5.2 kW) features rotor that is positioned between the two poles of a horseshoe magnet.
The air-insulated commutator consists of iron sheets.

CN L580 slowly rolls by some residents in Hagersville, watching the unloading of transformations. A good surprise as GTW 6420 rolls into town.

A westbound BNSF wind turbine train is curving through Lombard Canyon west of Lombard, Montana, on September 9, 2011. A pair of turbine generators is loaded on each high-capacity, 8-axle, 70-foot KRL flatcar, with an empty flatcar or covered hopper separating each loaded car to spread the weight on the track structure. These loads must be heavy!
I saw these in southern Illinois while we were driving back from the car show in Rockford. We probably have these in Texas but not around Austin. So, they still look interesting to me. Plus, I liked the way the light was hitting them. We didn't stop, I was just shooting from the window.

The point generator took me to just outside the town of Omemee, the hometown of Neil Young (of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young). I did not see the flies when I shot this. This is SOOC.
