This is our newly moved diagnostic station, and AJU station. They were previously in the back of the Precinct and we felt this let agents hide in the back to check on systems. Now they have to be up front and can easily see if backup is need when a new suspect is brought in for interrogation.
This pretty much captures my uber-geekdom of freshman year. And below super nerd, is her trusty sidekick super polar bear, her true friend.

Union-Tribune illustration for a story on "geek heroes," everyday people with no special powers except their obsession with a facet of pop culture or society. IIRC, the Subtitler is an obsessive film-studies major. For this series I deliberately swiped/paid homage to other comic artists (this one: Frank Miller). Pencil, then brush and ink. Colors were laid in FreeHand using Marvel Comics' Silver Age color palette (64 colors), printed using a coarse screen (40dpi), then each color plate (cyan, magenta, yellow) pulled into a corresponding color channel in Photoshop.
