The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1, the structure links the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937, and has become one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and of the United States. Despite its span length being surpassed by eight other bridges since its completion, it still has the second longest suspension bridge main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. It has been declared one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Frommers travel guide considers the Golden Gate Bridge "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world".

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California—the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula—to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. Me experimenting with spinning wool, I gave this shot a really dirty evil kind of edit, think it worked :)
Gate keeper butterfly taking nectar from a flower. These little brown/orange butterflies are a common site around our way at this time of year.
With over 200,000 photos of the Golden Gate Bridge on Flickr, I think many of us who take pictures of this bridge have second thoughts about adding ours to the masses.
As with any fine piece of architecture or engineering, The Bridge takes on different characteristics as the weather, water, and light all change around it.
In conclusion, there are not enough photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, so here is another one.
This is taken from Fort Baker, on the Marin side.
The Golden Gate Bridge at night. I've been meaning to get up to San Francisco and shoot this since moving to the area half a year ago. Was finally able to make it a priority. This city is slowly growing on me.
