The pond area in the lovely Horniman Museum gardens

Rainy gloomy day didn't stop me from enjoying these beautiful spring gardens.

The last flower of the season in our flower beds ... ;)

Em viagem, meus amigos. Volto em setembro, beijos

For me, the swallowtail is the king of butterflies. One is currently flying endless rounds in my garden every afternoon. It's wonderful to watch it gliding and it seemingly enjoying itself. Every now and then a second one comes by and they fly away together. But a short time later, "mine" comes back to do its rounds again. I wonder how long it will keep coming...

Singapore Botanic Gardens are an oasis of natural beauty and tranquility in a highly urbanized city. The Gardens were established in 1859, and retain the same layout and historical buildings until today.

The Gardens are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and are a global center for plant research, development, and conservation. This was a key institution involved with the introduction of rubber trees in South East Asia, which became a major cash crop for the region.

The greening of Singapore is a direct result of the Gardens' efforts, which devoted their expertise and resources to transform Singapore into the Garden City that it has now become.

The National Orchid Garden has the world's largest display of orchids, and is part of Singapore Botanical Gardens' orchid breeding program, with a repository of one thousand species and two thousand hybrids.

Bedding roses in full bloom, hydrangeas will open in next few days, weeds high.......

A bit of a Mary Poppins type shot here but instead of the rooftops of London it is the rooftops of St Ives. I have shot this view from the passenger seat through the open passenger car door window many times. It is a well known beautiful view whenever you are taking the outbound road from St Ives towards Carbis Bay. On this particular day I was stretching my neck as usual to 'grab ' a shot when Jonathan spotted a gap on the road and pulled in and parked for just a couple of minutes. I was enchanted by the little garden foreground left, that being below the view from the car window I had never spotted before and was enchanted by both that and the wonderful view from that vantage point…..

St Ives is a town in Cornwall, England, known for its surf beaches, like Porthmeor, and its art scene. The seafront Tate St Ives gallery has rotating modern art exhibitions, focusing on British artists. Nearby, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, in the modernist artist’s former studio, displays her bronzes and other works. Boat trips go to Seal Island, just west of town, to see the seal colony….

The large Tower belongs to St Ia's Church, St Ives, is a parish church in the Church of England in St Ives, Cornwall, UK. It is dedicated to Ia of Cornwall, a 5th- or 6th-century Irish saint, and is a Grade I listed building..

While we were doing a cycling trip in Vietnam in 2014, we went by this large garden. I added a texture for the sky ( Thanks to Jerry Jones).

I made two visits to this fantastic garden over the bluebell period. One quite by chance as I was passing. Hardly anyone there, and the flowers at their peak. A truly remarkable site to see acres of bluebells in an open field like this. The light was perfect, soft but with some strength. Making images is a bit tricky as for good reason, you are not allowed to move through the flowers.

(My thoughts are with those caught up in the terrible situation in Manchester today)
