I'm not sure how one goes about getting cholera, but i'm pretty sure it's available in this puddle of garbage. What you can't see is that the surface of this pile is knee-level, in a cinder-block 'pool'.
I don't believe how little respect people have for the garbage collectors. They throw anything imaginable out on garbage day.

shot in Beijing, May, 2011. those are garbage collectors common in Beijing, they gather those sellable cardboards, ironwork, wasted electronics then sell them to garbage station or some kind of garbage black market (not for sure, mates).
