First you pick up some garbage from hotels, shops and houses and then you top it with some seaweed from the beach.. I wonder what happens to such mix when that little truck drives out of town? Of all the places I have visited I think Las Terrenas was the one with most litter and that made me sad. Nature don't need that and I am sure that the people living there would enjoy a cleaner enviroment too. Big pieces of glass from bottles are not very healthy on the beach either; I picked up all I could find.

These young Palestinian children are building kites from colored garbage bags, wood, and staples. They are participating in a kite-building workshop in the Wihdat refugee camp sponsored by a local NGO.
The Wihdat (Wehdat) refugee camp, which was established in Amman in 1948, is home to over 54,000 Palestinian refugees who were displaced from their homes in Palestine in 1948. Officially referred to as the "Amman Camp", Wihdat is currently under the authority of the United Nations Refugee Works Agency (UNRWA) which provides its people with basic education and healthcare. Notwithstanding the aid provided by UNRWA, Wihdat, like other Palestinian refugee camps throughout the Middle East, is impoverished with its citizens often forced to contend with the daily torments that accompany poverty. Although Palestinians living in the Wihdat camp are provided Jordanian citizenship, the stigma of being born in a refugee camp and, therefore labelled "ibn al mukhayam" (son of the refugee camp), leads to discrimination and, often, lack of equal opportunities for both men and women from the camp. Furthermore, the local municipality in Amman does not provide basic infrastructural or civic services to any of the refugee camps in Jordan. Thus, in the absence of sanitation services, many of the Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan have garbage-strewn allies, overground sewage, and little if any access to electricity. In light of these as well as other issues stemming from the lack of civic services, places Palestinian residents of these camps at risk of serious harm (in terms of health, economic prospects, and access to quality education and healthcare)
I swear to God that I found the skirt in the Garbage Bin in my building. And well may you say, 'It looks like you did'. Actually, it had another layer of material over the top, but I cut it off.
The Roses shirt was thrifted. So were the 'Nordstrom' shoes.

As you can see, the inside of this thing was very rusty. It didn't smell too bad, and there wasn't too much food residue, but it was really quite rusted.
Abandoned shopping carts used to bring bottles to the depot for deposit. It's great that the bottles and cans are coming back, but why not recycle the carts back to the stores.
Treasure for the stores - these things are expensive.
Do you remember the Garbage Gobbler? Created in the 1950s and placed across the province in B.C. Parks and at points along BC highways in order to “Keep Beautiful British Columbia, Clean and Beautiful,” Garbage Gobblers were a truly cool piece of transportation history. Sadly, Garbage Gobblers proved to be as popular with bears as they were with people and eventually they had to be replaced in favour of bear proof cans (which were not as artsy, but much more practical). Even though Garbage Gobblers disappeared from BC roadways, our love for them lives on in treasured family road trip photos and in retrospective discussions of days gone by. (Heck, the gobbler was so loved – he even has his own Facebook page!)
Well, he’s baaaaack. (And he’s hungry!)
We are thrilled to announce that the Garbage Gobbler has been re-imagined and re-introduced to a handful of rest areas across the province as part of our Rest Area Improvement Program.
