Because Ry insists that all fuzzy ones are girls. Haha
I believe this is a Fall Webworm Caterpillar.
If you know me you know how I seem to find faces...
Taken during the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk #2 of 5
A gorgeous caterpillar Hayden found. I've never seen one like this and I was crazy about caterpillars as a young girl.
The other "image" even remotely attainable from an ancient roll of Kodak Verichrome Pan 120 film that came in a second hand Bakelite Wembley camera. Definitely can't tell what this is, but I know that the white line in the middle is where the film got folded after processing.
I also wonder if that vertical line in the middle is responsibile for the "pylons" in the previous image... will have to check the film again.
Found him in the oversized folio stacks, nibbling on a book. Decided to bring him up to my cube to keep me company, since I needed a minion.
This is a plant I'd never seen before. The leaves are very thick and fuzzy with reticulate venation which makes the plant a dicot.
The white fuzz not only looks like snow, it also increases the boundary layer of every leaf allowing it to retain more moisture within.
Each leaf is quite thick and leathery leading me to believe that it may have a double palisade cell layer. The cuticle may also be thick, though the leaf didn't feel waxy.
That's how pretty it looks without my glasses on and with a couple of glasses of Ale in me. Hooray for the Holidays...
Happy Baubles to you :-)
I might be uploading some stuff from my trip back to Malaysia in March. Bear with me. :)
A day after this.
