Spent all day in another session of Deacon School over in Gulf Breeze, long day but went well. During our lnch break their was another group also using the parish hall and one of them had this five-month old black lab that is in training to be an assistance dog. Neat thing is that this dog is being raised in a prison as an inmate project, she gets picked up on weekends just for socialization skills. I was fascinated by the project, and this really was a well behaved dog.
They only use black labs and golden retrievers because of their ability to learn and their personalites. That part didn't really surprise me!
Wow, what a great first event with Green Business in focus, our forests and soil for a sustainable future.

Widnes Warth Nature Reserve
The sculpture has 120 metallic petals that flutter in the wind and are illuminated by 60 low powered LEDs in various shades of red.
The flower was designed by award-winning architects Tonkin Liu as part of an international design competition and funded by the NWDA
Anna Liu, director of Tonkin Liu, said: “It is great for us to see the Future Flower rising out of the river bank halfway between industry and nature.
“The view of the Mersey with the Silver Jubilee Bridge in the distance with the wind-blown reeds in the foreground make a beautiful location.
“We designed the giant flower to draw people to the waterfront.
“During the day the silver flower will reflect the ever-changing light of the expansive sky and as the sky darkens the flower will glow red to herald the power of the wind.
“The future flower celebrates the regeneration of the area and encourages visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the Widnes Waterfront.”

Temple to the future// 12.09.2011
The Temple to the Future (aka The Saddleblankets Project) is a public art project that is inspired by the social issues related to the drug wars and the segregation between the sister cities of Juarez,MX and El Paso, TX . This project intends to look positively towards the future of our region, to give the community a different perspective on how we view ourselves and the world around us, and to inspire others to take another look at the vibrancy of our cities.
Over two dozen artists from both sides of the border donated their time, materials and ideas to make art on a city-owned abandoned structure that stood near the heart of downtown El Paso which was set for demolition, The Saddleblankets Building. Over the six day process, two stationary cameras took photos every 60 seconds, and a small crew created a short film documenting and educating people about the significance of the project and the context of the Juarez-El Paso bi-national region.
Even though the building will one day be gone, our message will continue to spread.
The Temple of the Future was organized by The El Paso Transnational Trolley Project in collaboration with Ltl Monster & Fusion Magazine.
Special thanks to the City of El Paso, The Downtown Management District, and the Art Center of El Paso.
