I've been making hedgehogs for a little while now, and while I've received requests for other animals, I honestly hadn't really considered making them.
However, I had a dream recently that literal clay raccoons found there way into my last apartment. Normally when I find animals where they shouldn't be I do my best to relocate them --I'm so glad that snapping turtles can reach back only so far with their necks, or I might be throwing in a different way-- Sorry for the digression, in this dream I had tried to shoo two clay raccoons back out of the apartment and down the three story fire escape.
My attempts at being gentle resulted in one of the raccoons getting punted out the door and down three stories, and the other getting squished by the door. Apparently these clay raccoons had very convincing clay guts.

probably the most functional change we made to the original plan was moving the laundry room upstairs. first of all this made the mudroom area into a more functional usable space and second of all, now the laundry is on the same floor as all the bedrooms which is a huge plus. it's a little less wide in the left right axis than the original laundry room, but it's wider in the front to back axis (basically it's a square instead of a rectangle) so it will feel a little roomier with the doors open moving clothes around. we also found a way to get a tiny laundry sink in the little bumped out area to the right just by the stairs.

The red coloration on the handle is heat shrink tubing I got from Boeing Surplus some years ago.
I miss Boeing Surplus...
The overall length is 6', which sounds long, but I'm 6'2" myself, so it fits well. The extra length enables the spade end to get into otherwise inaccessible places, like under vehicles behind or in front of tires.
This was the longest section of heat shrink I had, I might paint the bare metal, or add more heat shrink and just paint the spade plate.
An additional section of heat shrink would inevitably leave a lump or gap at the junction of the two pieces. Decisions, decisions...
As with the gullwing doors on the original 300SL racing coupe, these side vents were originally a purely functional addition to solve a practical problem: how to get heated air out from under the hood at high speed. (Even the road cars were capable of 150+ mph, and the racing cars were topping out at 175.) But the solution was so beautiful that it was adopted, even in non-functional form, on many other sports cars of the Fifties.
