laundry room
probably the most functional change we made to the original plan was moving the laundry room upstairs. first of all this made the mudroom area into a more functional usable space and second of all, now the laundry is on the same floor as all the bedrooms which is a huge plus. it's a little less wide in the left right axis than the original laundry room, but it's wider in the front to back axis (basically it's a square instead of a rectangle) so it will feel a little roomier with the doors open moving clothes around. we also found a way to get a tiny laundry sink in the little bumped out area to the right just by the stairs.
