My wife's endurance training coach held a workshop to help people figure out if they were prone to certain injuries based on weakness of certain muscle groups. I think they were trying to do squats while holding the PVC pipe over there head. That's actually pretty hard unless you have good flexibility.

Cedarlore Forge is the mythopoetically inspired work of Swordsmith and Artist, David DelaGardelle. David crafts one-of-a-kind fully functional swords and fine art.

Biography:

David was the co-founder and former owner of the smithy "Mad Dwarf Workshop".

Cedarlore Forge is David's serious artistic exploration of the Northern European mythopoetic tradition, in the form of uniquely hand forged swords and artwork. He attempts to embody the ideology that Professor J.R.R. Tolkien spoke of in his poem "Mythopoeia" when he wrote of the creation of art as a transcendent truth that can glorify and praise our own Creator.

David crafts each piece with meaning and purpose, a mythic story to tell, and a truth to be known. He works with the raw materials as closely as they would have been used thousands of years ago by historical swordsmiths. Also, he is inspired by both the classical and legendary works of old writers and folktales. The natural environments of his childhood shaped his imagination into the craftsman he is today.

Experience in HIPAA compliance with Web applications

The most basic risk factor in secure software applications is cost, and the second is fear. Fear is a cost based threat - fear of lawsuits either by the government for not adhering to the HIPAA regulations or by private party class action suits when private information becomes public.

Planning and building secure environments is expensive, and generally does not add to the functionality of a site. Explaining the costs along with the risks helps engage senior management to make excellent decisions concerning the privacy of customers, and to secure confidential information -- for example an insurance agent's book of business.

There are a couple of different aspects when considering the security of secure sites, and to replace fear with appropriate risk management. Many people understand Web authentication software, a component of Web access control, for example a login with password and userID to control access to secure sites, because they are familiar themselves with using secure sites, and even with common Internet technology such as cookies.

What is less well understood is the backend side of secure business sites which includes both software and hardware. The hardware includes the Web application server, other application servers, database servers, networking equipment, and the software that runs them, along with Web access control software already mentioned.

Because they require certain functionality on a specific timeline many senior and middle managers make decisions solely based on cost without concern for the constant need to evaluate and ensure security, especially as new applications, Web sites, portals, and functionality are deployed.

IT departments generally build what is requested, and like an old house added to over several generations, the result can be what gets built may have no focus on how it can be secured.

As more complex networking and applications are added to a overworked, aged, poorly networked, or patched together environment organized in such a way that it can not be secured -- the higher the risks become -- not just in terms of intentional attacks but also due to simple technical failure, such as unpatched software with published security flaws or other security oversights.

When IT and security managers request funds to cover the higher costs associated with re-organizing, updating and securing hardware and software in networked environments, often management will not agree to the use of resources nor provide funds for the networking hardware / software, qualified techs, network designers, and programmers, and the time needed to secure backend environments, test, and audit them, in preference to other apparently more demanding needs, especially those they believe will enable the company to increase earnings.

It follows that management needs to understand the risks and will then be more willing to invest the money to plan and secure the environment. This includes providing appropriate secure access control both to the resident software applications and information exchange (such as email and back office data transfer including between 3rd parties), especially via the Internet.

In building secure Web-based applications, obtaining management buy-in is based on explaining the risk factors and costs, so management clearly understands what is at stake for their customers and required. Within the medical industry these laws include data security; specifically the 1996 Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, also known as HIPAA or Title II.

HIPAA regulations address the security and privacy of health data; they specify national standards for electronic health care transactions. They are expected to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the nation's health care system by standardizing the use of electronic data within health care administration, via Web-based and networked systems that individuals, providers, employers, and insurers have access to.

Each group will have secure access to differing components or varying degrees of private information.

As a program manager our job is explain the risk and obtain management approval and department co-operation in creating a secure application based on a secure environment. With a new application, a technically competent program/project manager can not make the assumption that the hosting environment is secure -- you need proof. A 3rd party security audit provides proof.

Working with a Northwest medical insurance firm (which has offices in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon) to develop their first true Web application, we drafted an executive summary on security, which could be applied to the firm's ongoing Internet, Intranet, Extranet, and Portal based software. We presented the idea of Web-based application and software environmental security to the company leadership and proposed hiring a 3rd party security firm to perform an audit.

We researched security companies; contacting a member of the Board of Directors, he referred the same security firm which we had already identified. We contracted with the firm to perform a technical security audit.

Setting a new standard for the company, we included the department managers and staff from Audit, Data Security, and Legal on the proposal, planning, meetings, execution, findings, and results of the process for the beta pilot and Go Live versions of the product to launch.

In financial firms Internal Audit holds power; therefore it is crucial to involve Audit as early as possible. Auditors know that if they must they can call any senior management or officer, and ask many difficult and pointed questions on the behalf of their constituency.

We obtained, reviewed, and reviewed and edited proposed legal contacts. We planned and arranged for all meetings and technical access (using encrypted communications with public keys), and followed each security detail up with the development team, and Q/A for final approval.

There was some hands on: to verify changes made by development and verified by Q/A, we retested some functions, checking off the highest level security bugs.

To assure user centric design of the Web-based product we managed the company's relationship with a user interface design and testing firm, to advise on developing an excellent user focused function and design for the product. We also requested legal documentation be created and written for the site, making "Terms of Use", "Conditions of Use", and a "Security Policy Statement" a standard for ongoing sites.

In advocating the use of 3rd parties for a variety of legal and security factors, our primary concern is the privacy of end-users, those the site is intended to serve. However, it is not a small matter that substantial fines are possible when a firm is found responsible for ignoring business standards regarding individual and group privacy of medical information. Of these two things, customer's privacy verses the cost of failure, the second may hold the most interest when communicating risk with management who must in the course of their jobs pay strict attention to the bottom line.

Effective and direct communication, backed up with Audits, cost estimates, and an analysis of real life ("in the past this system was broken into by such and such a person and this particular information was exposed, misused, or sabotaged) and potential risk factors ("if we don't fix this in X amount of time, the risks climb"), and even cite examples of successful lawsuits for similar privacy infractions.

Clearly if a secure site is compromised, regardless of intent, and the company is using standard e-Business security practices for any Operating System to protect the site, the company is not likely to be fined in a court of law. We describe security "Lockdown" (used regarding server hardware) to describe a number of business issues combined with technical issues:

"Security investment requires creating a secure environment both for the people involved and for the software and hardware. This means secure access control throughout the hosting environment, resident software applications, with regular audits, and rigorous follow up with software updates -- as well as excellent communication between IT, Data Security, and senior management."

A future is approaching very swiftly in which, if a system was compromised and your security practices do not measure up, your firm is responsible. That is where the finger pointing begins, and lawyers take over. The same approach holds for data loss as well, such as PII (Personally Identifiable Information).

This kind of responsibility for trust and security, not only for individual secure sites, but also for national security sites, can mean that companies responsible for the secure application software and its configuration on hardware, such as Microsoft, and consultants, as well as other firms become likely to be successfully sued for breaches of data security, and accompanying aspects of reliability, trust, and confidence. This is especially true for financial and medical businesses.

Encouraging the use of qualified 3rd parties to audit security on secure medical and other private sites will enable it to become a standard throughout the medical insurance industry as they engage HIPAA regulations in the interim between current softer standards, and those which also pass data through verification and enumeration hardware (chips) on individual devices.

Program Managers and Project Managers can sleep more soundly when a site is complete and locked down, knowing they have advocated the best advice and alternatives possible in providing secure HIPAA sites.

Questions & Answers on Security Standards for HIPAA Regulations

"Linda, I read one of your articles dating back to June of 2002 titled Security for Secure Sites. I am doing some research for a client of mine and was trying to figure out something that perhaps you could answer.

I've done a lot of internal and file transfer work that falls under HIPAA regulation, but I haven't really gone into the arena of displaying health information over web-sites.

I understand the issues that fall on the backend of a web-app, such as the database server, network structure, etc., but I haven't found information on any regulations that require a site itself to be secured.

In other words, can a password protected site that has 128-bit encryption under SSL suffice? Is there a standard that governs how a query must be structured from a web-site and how the returned data must be presented?"

CEO from a Midwest Tech Firm

July 16, 2004

"You and your client must be sure the medical data is secure. Security investment requires creating a secure environment both for the people involved and for the software and hardware.

This means secure access control throughout the hosting environment, resident software applications, with regular audits, and rigorous follow up with software updates -- as well as excellent communication between IT, Data Security, and senior management.

Your best option is to hire a third party Security Audit firm and obtain their advice. 128bit is highly secure. However userIDs, passwords and 128 bit encryption will not suffice if the server environment is not truly secure or if the doctor is careless with accessing confidential records. Most people can be more easily spoofed into security leaks through social tricks than the likelihood of breaking 128bit encryption.

Hire an expert, ask for recommendations locally, and talk with a couple of reputable software security companies to make your decision. Help medical personal establish policies and procedures to live by. Eliminating fear by promoting appropriate business practices is sound risk management.

In Security vernacular this is termed "lockdown."

Earth Designs Garden Design and Build were asked to created a landscape and propose garden design in Hackney, London*. Here are the details of the project

The Party Garden in Hackney, London E9

BRIEF:

This space was a completely blank canvas, with sound fences to the right and a high brick wall to the left.

The client requested a ‘wow’ garden, one that is funky and stylish yet also practical and inviting, with good provision for socialising and the possibility for the inclusion of a hot tub spa.

SOLUTION:

This design sought to transform the garden from an urban wasteland into a sub-tropical party oasis and split the garden into two distinct areas. At once elegant and stylish, playful and accommodating, the space would be equally suited to intimate dining or large-scale entertaining. The colour palette is aubergine, lime and sand.

The area directly outside the back door is designed to serve as a functional utility area, with a purpose built storage unit slotted into the gap to the left of the steps and space allowed to accommodate the client’s gas barbeque.

The first section of the garden consists of two areas of slate paving, split by a decked walkway that zig-zags down the space. To the left, running partway along the existing brick wall, is fixed bench seating comprising purple rendered concrete block walls and a deck board seat. The existing wall itself was rendered behind the seat and painted purple. A moveable decking table and decking cubes on castors were constructed in this area to provide a variety of al fresco dining possibilities.

Two large rectangular stainless steel planters planted with tall bamboo split the first section of the garden from the second. The second section consists of a large, partially sunken hot tub to the right and an area of decking to the left. A large purple rendered block wall serves to square off the bottom of the garden, providing a strong backdrop of colour to the space while an opening to the left of this wall allows access to a small, open-air storage area behind.

Planting is strong and simple. Big specimen architectural plants dominate, including plum leafed spiky phormiums and cordylines. Grasses give motion to the space. Dramatic ‘Black Parrot’ tulips and ‘Black Irises’ contrast with arum lilies to bring elegance and grace to the scheme. Agapanthus will take the stage once the spring flowers have died back and offset the sand grasses and strong plum foliage.

To compete the design, a variety of lighting was included to create a visual cornucopia when the sun goes down. The decking features sunken lights, strategically placed to light key areas. Spot lights in the main beds illuminate the architectural planting to its best advantage, while creating an overall wash to the garden. Finally, six stainless steel downlighters, three on the end wall and three on the side wall, provide effective illumination to the seating area and hot tub.

TESTIMONIAL:

"From the first time we met Kat we knew we had made the right choice. Kat very quickly determined what we wanted and more importantly, what we didn't. After a couple of iterations of design we came to an agreement and very quickly work started. We made it clear from the beginning that we needed Earth Designs to take care of every detail.

Neither of us had the time or the inclination to be involved in the process, other than discussions around design as the project progressed. Due to access restrictions, delivery of all materials and plants required the use of a crane and closure of the road. This included co-coordinating the delivery and installation of the hot tub with the manufacturer. The boys handled everything without issue.

During the construction, the whole team worked very hard in all weathers to get the job done. We gave them a key so we did not have to be around at any point and they could come and go as they pleased. Every day, we hardly knew they were there and each night, they cleaned up before they left.

They were completely trustworthy and always polite and considerate while in our home. The end result is fantastic and meets all our needs. We have a wonderful environment in which to entertain, one to relax in and a spa area to die for."

Using the polyphonic sound code from my electronic Dry Bones sprites along with the structural functionality of my illuminated mosaic Link portrait, I’ve combined both concepts. In this new portrait, I use a grid of flat LED panels fastened on to the rear door, with a 16 Ohm speaker attached as well. Controlling the whole circuit is a homemade circuit board with an Atmel ATmega328P as the central brain, containing an Arduino code for playing the music and activating the lights. The biggest technological feat for this project is how I successfully managed to control the 12V LED panels through a small 5.5V AVR, through the help of transistors.

In layman’s terms, a small microcontroller like the ATmega328 is only capable of controlling circuits between 3-5.5V; anything else will burn out the chip. By using transistors attached to the digital outputs of the ATmega, I can control much larger loads, with the overall 12V input power being directed into the circuit via a voltage regulator. This new method allows me to control larger lights than simple LEDs, which opens new doors for potentially building more LEGO traffic lights and whatnot.

The physical LEGO portion was rather straightforward and didn’t have a lot of flaws. Towards the end of the construction, I had to slightly rebuild the project to use a small tactile button to activate the circuit. Originally I had a large momentary pushbutton installed near the bottom of the rear door: the button required too much pressure to push, which caused the structure to wobble and almost fall over when pressed.

Creating the circuit board and wiring the Arduino code was also rather simple, since I used the same functionality of the Dry Bones model. Unfortunately, when I was testing out the method of using transistors for controlling the LED panels, I accidentally loaded the 12V power into my Arduino Uno’s 5.5V input — thus frying it. After purchasing a new Arduino, I successfully did some breadboard experiments with TIP120 transistors to control the LED panels.

The LEGO structure opens like a book, and on the rear door are eight white SMD LED panels connected in parallel to three digital output pins of the ATmega — cathode to cathode, with the red positive wires being channeled into the positive terminal of the 12V power supply. For sound output, I created some makeshift speaker holes on the top right orange brick sprite: this was achieved by placing LEGO grille tiles over headlight pieces.

Earth Designs Garden Design and Build were asked to created a landscape and propose garden design in Balham, London*. Here are the details of the project

The Outside Room Garden in Balham, London SW12

BRIEF:

The space was formerly a double garage nestled between two houses. The roof had been removed, leaving behind a worn concrete and cobble floor, garage doors, and two rusted steel girders crossing the space. In creative terms, the brief was fairly open: to design a clean and contemporary space, suitable for entertaining yet functional enough to accommodate off-street parking for a family car.

SOLUTION:

The design was inspired by the strong sense of enclosure to the space, taking elements of a typical lounge to create something that was very much an exterior room. New railway sleepers, chosen for their clean look and contemporary feel, featured heavily as a construction material.

These were used to create raised beds around the boundaries, an integrated 'sofa' and coffee table, and a dresser-style shelving unit down one side of the space. Judicious lighting within the beds and shelving units served to create ambient lighting similar to that found in a well-planned drawing room.

The 'living room' theme was further enhanced by the inclusion of a bespoke wrought iron chandelier hanging from the cross-point of the girders. To allow for off-street parking, the existing garage doors were replaced with two large bespoke wooden gates, and pattern-imprinted concrete was laid to provide attractive and durable flooring. Planting was used to blur the linear appearance of the space, with architectural, spiky evergreens and lush, leafy climbers taking pride of place. A water feature constructed from a Heath Robinson-esque series of copper piping and funnels provided the finishing touch to the garden.

TESTIMONIAL:

"The phrase 'making a silk purse from a sow's ear' comes to mind! What we had grown used to fondly referring to as 'The Prison Yard' is now a tropical oasis that gets more use than any other "room" in the house. Katrina and her team interpreted our brief perfectly and delivered, through wind, rain, and on one notable occasion a violent thunderstorm, our perfect garden. We can't thank them enough for what is, as one old chap commented in passing, 'The most remarkable transformation I have ever seen'. Thank you. We love it!"

Not only will it hold your candle, but you can put your glasses in its eyes.

After my little accident involving a broken wrist joint out the gate, I restored some functionality to the figure and did a photoshoot. Still waiting for a response from Mondo, though I don't think it should be an issues getting things restored from their end.

So taking away the various Teela specific QC issues, what do we have? A pretty typical Mondo product - I like the overall sculpting job better than She Ran, which to be fair was their first female MOTU release. Definitely a much better shelf presence, and unlike She Ra, Teela actually attended Arm day. Of the three sculpts, the 200X is probably the best, though arguably speaking the only one that's not so great is the angry expression, which still works f you have the right conditions.

Great work out the outfit itself. It's no more or less complicated than She Ra, I'd say, but I think it's probably more accurate to say the complication is all focused on the chest and arms. It's unfortunate that it appears that Teela does, for pretty much all her incarnations she really does wear boots that stop short of the knee, which is unfortunate as a higher boot could have really blocked those knees from view.

Similarly, some beautiful sculpting work was applied to the accessories.

Articulation wise, well, it's not a Hot Toy True Type body. By American figure standards, it's not too bad. Butterfly joints would probably too much of an ask, so I'd settle for at least better than a simple 90 degree elbow bend - this isn't the 1980's anymore. Between the choice of materials and built in articulation, at least I was able to get Teela to sit in a chair.

Paint work is an area that I feel was improved over She Ra. Ever so slightly. For starters, I didn't have any issues with lip stick on the wrong side of her face. Everything sees to be in place, relatively clean work and all. Skin tone matching is still an issue, though. There's the body and the unpainted joints, which is tolerable if you don't stare too hard. But there's a disrepency between the faces and the body, and on the non 200X heads, the red around the eyes is too strong. But again, all things considered and the source, it's not too bad.

Build Quality wise... I'm not even going to start. Widely documented all around. I will just add that the heads are a pain in the ass to get back on the ball joint, and pretty much all her accessories are warped, with the exception of the Sword/Sheath and the Shield - I'll even give credit to the Snake staff, as it's warped by nature and I can't actually tell. The Snake helmet thing is warped to one side, and you see very easily that the Spear is warped.

Like a sunburst wall decor, this unfinished 'bobo' fish trap is impressive as it is. The material is from a local plant called bamban.

Nelson Mandela once said that, “Education is the most powerful weapons which you can use to change the world.”

The Right To Education: A Selection of Posters from the Poster for Tomorrow organization is on view at the Stambaugh Studio Theatre Gallery from February 27—March 30, 2012 at Ohio Northern University. The exhibit showcases about 100 posters, representing several countries.

Every year, Poster for Tomorrow chooses a basic human right to draw attention to. Then, they invite the global design community to make posters on the theme that are exhibited around the world on International Human Rights Day, December 10th.

Ohio Northern is only one of two sites in the United States to host this international poster exhibit.

The competition was judged in two phases by a preselection committee and an international jury. During the first jury session, ONU graphic design professor Brit Rowe was selected to take part in the jurying process. “We short-listed the 3,000 entries to about 100,” said Rowe.

Poster for Tomorrow chose to fight for the right to education for all as they believe that education gives people across the whole world the chance to break the cycle of poverty; to live in a more equal world, without discrimination, where everybody has the same chance to learn the same skills and enjoy the same success. And that makes it the perfect subject for the design community to address.

Incredibly 121 million children worldwide are not in primary school, despite universal primary education being a right guaranteed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and being Goal 2 of the UN Millennium Development Goals. Illiteracy rates are staggeringly high even in countries where a child’s right to education is guaranteed.

According to the National Adult Literacy Survey, 42 million adult Americans can’t read (and current estimates have the number of functionally illiterate adults in the United States increasing by approximately 2,500,000 persons each year). In France illiteracy has become a “cause nationale” with 3.1 million people unable to read, write or count. The rate of illiteracy in the United Kingdom is unacceptably high according to Parliament.

In addition to the poster competition, this year, for the first time, Poster for Tomorrow organized a series of workshops across Africa to give young African designers the chance to work with some of the leading designers in the world. Poster for Tomorrow hosted workshops in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.

Poster for Tomorrow, in association with 4Tomorrow Association, is an independent, international, non-profit organization whose goal is to encourage people, both in and outside the design profession, to create posters to stimulate debate on issues that affect the global community.

For the last two years, Poster for Tomorrow has focused on a competition that has addressed the right to freedom of expression and fought for the universal abolition of the death penalty.

Statement of Significance

What is Significant?

The Harold Holt Swim Centre is a complex of indoor and outdoor public swimming pools and facilities. It was built in 1969 on the site of the original Malvern Swimming Baths. The then Malvern City Council decided to name the Centre in memory of Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt following his disappearance and presumed drowning at Portsea.

The swimming complex was designed by local architects Kevin Borland and Daryl Jackson and is one of the earliest buildings in Victoria of the Brutalist style.

The Harold Holt Swim Centre originally consisted of two indoor pools and, outdoors, an Olympic-sized pool, diving pool with dive tower, wading pool and changing rooms. The indoor centre is a glass and concrete structure distinguished by its unpainted concrete block and off-form concrete construction in which the patterns created by the timber form-work are clearly seen. The principal components of the building's functional and structural system are emphasised as positive elements of the building's form, in particular the circulation elements including concrete pedestrian ramps and semi-circular stair. There is a transparency through the entire site and natural light is maximised by glass walls on the indoor pool complex, enabling a clear line of sight from the diving pool on the northern boundary through the pool complex to High Street on the southern boundary.

In response to changing needs and continued functioning of the Centre, there have been several alterations to the original design. In 1988 multifunction rooms, offices and spa were added, the enclosure of part of the mezzanine concrete access ramp and the addition of an indoor therapeutic pool. In 1998 the original laminated timber truss members and ceiling of the indoor complex were replaced by painted steel decking and a small light tower was added to the main chamber. In 1999 the plant room was enlarged and painted. Alterations to the building have generally been sympathetic, although the addition of offices on the mezzanine level has restricted access around the indoor centre, interrupting the intended pattern of movement. There has been some loss of original texture, colour scheme, and transparency through the building due to alterations to the ceiling and plant room. These changes have to some extent compromised the original design of the building, however the intention of the design is still easily read in the external concrete forms and internal spaces. Unlike many Brutalist buildings, much of the off-form concrete remains unpainted leaving the imprint of the form-work clearly visible in the finished concrete

Kevin Borland is noted for his co-design of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Pool, and the inventive Clyde Cameron College (1977). Daryl Jackson is considered an important proponent of Brutalism in Victoria. The Harold Holt Swim Centre is the earliest of Jackson's Brutalist designs and pre-dates other early Brutalist buildings in Victoria, notably the important Plumber and Gasfitters Union Building designed by Graeme Gunn (1970). Jackson continued his use of massed off-form concrete forms with function dictating design in such structures as the Princes Hill Secondary College (1972) and the M.L.C. Resources Building, Kew (1973).

The garden setting for the pool complex retains a number of plantings from the earlier Malvern Swimming Pool gardens, including Bhutan Cyprus (Cupressus torulosa), Canary Island Date Palm (Phoenix canariensis) and Canadian Poplar (Populus canescens).

The Harold Holt Swim Centre was awarded a Citation, Recreation Category, Victorian Chapter of the R.A.I.A. Architectural Awards in 1969.

How is it Significant?

The Harold Hold Swim Centre is of architectural significance to the State of Victoria.

Why is it Significant?

The Harold Hold Swim Centre is architecturally significant, being amongst the most notable, expressive, early and intact examples of the Brutalist movement that emerged in Victoria in the late-1960s. It represents the aesthetic, as well as ethical imperatives of the Brutalist style. The bold articulation of forms in textured off-form concrete and concrete blocks and glass, provides a sculptural imagery which is fundamental to Brutalist architecture. The heavy forms are balanced with focused transparency through the site, achieved by extensive use of natural lighting and the careful planning of the interior spaces.

Brutalism's ethical concern with social responsiveness is expressed through the expression of the construction materials as finished surfaces and the centrality of the user in the design of the building. This is clearly evident in the emphasis on circulation elements (the use of expressed ramps and stairs) and the articulation of the functional systems (ramps, skylights, service ducts, mezzanine observation deck and in the overall clarity and integration of the building, pools and gardens).

The Harold Hold Swim Centre is architecturally significant as the work of two important Victorian architects, Kevin Borland and Daryl Jackson. The design of the Centre reflects the development of architecture in Victoria through the 1970s, including the purposeful arrangement of masses and voids; the expression of the materials of construction as finished surfaces; the expression of structural form; and transparency for the user through directional internal planning.

The Harold Holt Swim Centre is of some historical and social significance as a memorial to the local member and then incumbent Australian Prime Minister, Harold Holt who disappeared, presumed drowned at Cheviot beach near Portsea, prior to the opening of the complex.

At the local level, the site is important for the provision of aquatic recreation for the people of the south-eastern suburbs from the construction of the original Malvern Baths in 1926 to the present. The place retains the planted banks of the earlier pool, as well as the square of parkland fronting High Street."
