Many thanks to my man Dave for commissioning this amazing bike. He has good style and allowed for us at Old World Bicycle to make some suggestions to give this machine is particular patina.
Dave works with CPS while they reinsert recess into the school day agenda. Dave we say thank you for educating Chicago's youth about the importance of being active and athletic. We are proud to have put this bike together for him & to do so to his specs with what we salvaged scraped, & gathered together to provide the most fashionable transport this city will allow. We hope to help inspire the good old fashion American spirit chalked full of hard work, elbow grease and a particular stubbornness that arose from our ancestors desire to build a better tomorrow at any cost. We were wrong a lot but kept growing, innovating, & evolving regardless of the obstacles that may arise. Because that is exactly what it took to bring this 40 + years old french road bike to its current state.
Details:
--Mid to early 1970's Motobecane road frame 54c
--700c mismatched fixed/flip flop Wheelset
--The frame was wire wheeled to bare metal and gun blued (gum bluing is a chemical process used to prevent corrosion on a variety of guns, mostly shot guns and rifles)
--Worn Brooks Saddle
--Aluminum stem and drop bars w/ signature OWB rubber tube wrap kept tight as the grips.
--exposed old chain Saddle retainer to ward petty thieves away from that beautiful saddle
This tough bicycle drips of cool and simply chuckles at the notion that it is anymore than what it is. Keep throwing challenges our way folks we put out great bikes over here and we thank you for the guidance.
Thanks to the crew.
Scottie “the out of work mechanic" for wire wheeling that ancient European paint off this well made and timeless hunk of high tensil steel. "Bubba" for hand sanding and applying the first two coats of Gun Blue. "Dick" for finalizing the gun bluing process and oiling the frame. I also want to say thanks to our neighbor bike shops for stocking what we need during our development stages.
With pleasure,

The Drill Hall is approximately 200
by 300 feet and one of the largest unobstructed interiors in New York City. It has the oldest extant “balloon shed” (a barrel vaulted roof supported on visible arch trusses or ribs) in America, and is
considered one of the first buildings in the United States to incorporate this structural system. The room features eleven elliptical wrought iron arches,
designed by consulting engineer Charles Macdonald (president of the Delaware Bridge Company, a subsidiary
of the important iron-and-steel-producing
Cooper, Hewitt & Co.). Over the last 130 years, the soaring hall has hosted a range of epic events including the inaugural May Music Festival in 1881 with an orchestra of 500 and a chorus of 1,200 conducted by Leopold Damrosch; a full Wagner program conducted by Theodore Thomas; a slew of fantastically themed balls (the Martian Ball, the Bovine Ball, the Commonwealth
Society Ball attended by a young Queen Elizabeth II); the lying-in-state of Louis Armstrong; Merce Cunningham’s “Events”; Luciano Pavarotti in a re-creation of Ancient Rome inside the hall designed by Valentino; and most
recently, the extraordinary production of Zimmerman’s opera Die Soldaten, where the audience moved on rails
“through the music.”
Driftwood has bracket fungi floating on it, and the water-blue enameled hardwood base sits on a set of polished beach stones. Table brings the natural beauty of ocean, and forest, into any interior! Table measures 60" diameter x 29" high.

The calm before the storm Pic #2 at "Unlock the Art of Basketball" last Thursday, December 1. Right before our private preview. Presented by SushiSamba's Graffiti Gone Global and Sponsored by Premiere Beverage. Let the madness begin! Super Size Me!

These glasses were so FUN to paint! The original design was all in red/yellow, but a very creative customer asked me to paint each in a different color! GREAT idea! Sure makes it easy to keep track of your own glass. :-)
They are high quality 20 ounce (591 ml) wine glasses that measure 8.5 inches and are individually freehand painted on the outside of the glass with a multi colored fiery design.
I have painted other coordinating items in this same design such as plates, tumblers, pitchers and decanters.
One of my favorites, for sure!

I was asked why I didn't make any cat leash holders and my reactions was that cats don't need leashes, right? Apparently I was wrong. Some kitties take walks with their parents just like dogs do. However, I'm going to stick to calling this a key, hat, scarf and coat hanger to avoid peope thinking I lost it altogether. I attached white metal hook for durable hanging and two strong metal hooks in the back to easily hang on any wall. I added a real bell to his collar to add an little something extra to his character.
As with all my creations, this is a handmade, one-of-a-kind key hanger that can be copied, but not duplicated. Each piece is lovingly hand formed, as well as hand glazed with three to six coats to achieve the best color enhancement.
