I used a brush and sponge to create the mottled pattern seen — the colors were inspired by the many fallen leaves covering my walking path this past autumn.

Wheel thrown and made of stoneware. Glazes prepared by me using oxides for color. Fired in oxidation.

Diameter of plate is 10 inches.

An abstract of an abstract, this free-form metal chair is seen from a 90 degree angle. The seat of a chair created from metal plates cut to shape and assembled by stacking them. Milwaukee Art Museum. It's also its own monochrome.

Here is a very special piece, a jar created in January for a friend — a cancer survivor. She had seen my Hope Vessels made earlier in 2020 and wanted one for herself. This jar is inscribed with the words that bring her hope everyday “There’s no place like hope.”

This fern impression reminds me of a plant fossil pattern. :)

Ferns and leaves were impressed into slabs of stoneware and then shaped to create two decorative forms.

Barcelona, Spain

The above is a photo that I had posted earlier (more or less in order) with my Spain pics. But the photo didn't do justice to my perspective (so much to learn about photo-taking!).

What you see is a sidewalk view (looking up!) of an apartment balcony at night. I took the photo because it's rare to see this level of architectural detail in the United States (although we have some phenomenal architecture and really i'm much more of a minimalist) and it's so lovely and overwhelming. Everywhere you look in old cities around the world, perhaps particularly in Europe (though I may not be well-traveled enough to say such a euro-centric statement!), you see this kind of eye-candy, functional art, the idea that our basic living structures can be works of art in and of themselves that are designed to last for centuries.

Luxury without waste. A gift of art and aesthetic to the future. I love that. I love this balcony. So I re-worked the photo using Picnik and the fun new tools in the "Sandbox" and voilá!

A book box is a box that is made to look like a book when it is closed. This is one that I have decorated with a polymer clay cover of my own design.

This is a blank journal that I decorated with a polymer clay design of my own creation. It is blends of Premo peacock pearl and bright green pearl clay. Pretty colors! I've included a piece of turquoise and glass gems.

Two more previously unpublished images of Lake Biwa, the blank drawing / writing paper, and the Japanese book marker built into the spine.

Found some fun little cork covered journals and decorated the front of this one using scrap clay and a nifty "found object". (not sure what it is lol). I tried to mimic the rough texture of the cork with various stamps. fabric and I even rolled a bumpy twig across the surface. haha!

This is a journal cover that I created for my sister for her birthday. She loves purple, sparkles and angels. I think she'll like it. :) It is made of purple polymer clay blended with pearl with gives it a wonderful subtle shimmer. I stained it to deepen the texture and then highlighted some of the raised areas with metallic silver. I also added sparkly Swarovski crystals and a gorgeous faceted glass gem.

One of a kind hand-made and glazed ceramic bowl that kozy created for our exhibition "End of Summer Never Ends" at Giant Robot in Los Angeles. 4 inches tall by 13 inches diameter.

I made these pieces last autumn. I love the blue background here. I used a large piece of two-toned blue poster board outside on my patio with late afternoon lighting.

These bowls were wheel thrown and made of stoneware. I glazed these in the colors I saw on my autumn walks. Glazes were prepared by me using oxides for colorants. Fired in oxidation.

I am revamping an old chair of mine as a fun art project. I have collaged the seat and the back rest parts of the chair with magazine images, and the rungs and legs are going to all be covered in old sewing pattern paper. This is my progress on the project thus far. I'm enjoying it, and i think it looks pretty good!

It's crunch time for our exhibition in Miami this year!

These handpainted goblets Sing with in the Light, even on candle light tables! The effect is like 'stained glass'. The glass itself is heavy and balanced 16 fluid ounces. Libbey manufactured; so extremely durable and cooked in a professional grade oven to control time and heat insuring color/design permanent durability and longevity. Dishwasher safe; but I always recommend handwashing anything handpainted. They are for sale on My Etsy Shoppe!
