The Milky Way (and airglow!) emerge from the sky as astronomical twilight fades into the night. Vertical panorama taken with a full-spectrum Canon 6D, taken in eastern Oregon in July of this year.

There is no need to swap the R & B channels to get this result, but the white balance is hard to perform.
In IR B&W (~850nm), the wrack is white.
I just had a full spectrum camera body conversion. I took it out for a test in the backyard and this is what I got pretty much straight out of the camera using an IR chrome filter (essentially this is how Aerochrome sees the world). All the green from the chlorophyll goes red. (The plastic green lawn chair in the background stayed green).
Alright, so this happend in early April, snow had melted away already, but the day after that, a whole boatload of snow came down, I know that cause I planted some yew trees and wasn't really sure what I was shoveling, earth or snow (the ground of course isn't frozen anymore at this time of the year)?!
Anyway, I feel this is one of those where it looks like as if the air has been sucked away, or something. I don't know, it's so clear and three-dimansional, like a vacuum.
Am I stupid and the only one seeing this? Sure my fellow IR-peeps must know what I mean?
★ Also, as a note on the side: This is from last year, I developed it back then but couldn't help but redo it now again. I don't want to sound hybristic, but there is a huge difference! So it seems that all the small refinements, and tweaks 'n hacks that evolve over time, by just doing it, are really paying off in terms of the final outcome! I'm much more satisfied with what I can do now, than a year ago.
Which is both, good and fun in itself, but also, and that is perhaps what I want to get across here, significant improvements can and do happen, even if you use the same old gear. I'm still using my old shit, my beginner setup!
So if your IR photos look like a blue mess, with a nasty monotonic blue color cast everywhere after the channel swap, don't just leave it at that. My 720nm photos certainly looked like that, and not only in the beginning!
But I see quite a few of these on Flickr. Sure, tastes differ, I'm not saying your images should look like mine, no!, but that can't be satisfying, can it? Just keep playing around with it, and things will invariably evolve in a direction you would like to see.. ❤
Technically this a standard-ish focal length singlerow IR panorama consisting of 6 shots in portrait orientation, trimmed and cropped to 14039 x 4260px, 59,8MP.

4x objective on a microscope with a full spectrum camera. The microscope light source has a hot mirror to block heat but the outside light may have caused the coloring.

Taken on a miserable rainy day from under an umbrella with a full spectrum converted Lumix DMC-GF3 fitted with a 590nm infrared filter on the lens.
The lakes were flowing through heavily with the amount of water coming off the surrounding land.
Two beautiful sunsets in a row as it was raining on and off during the day, with clouds scattering at night.
Fuji X-T1 converted for full-spectrum photography with a 750nm IR filter. Was out scouting for bluebells for a planned outing Sunday morning when overcast conditions are forecast. The light might have been too harsh for bluebell photography this afternoon but it suited infrared work.

Across the south, major two lane arteries have been replaced over the last 50 years by great streaming ribbons of concrete, rushing us all to God knows where. In a parallel universe, these old cast aside roadways carry on, a hundred yards or maybe a mile to one side or the other. Alongside them are the crumbling remains of what once were bustling motels, stores and gas stations, bypassed by the modern age.

J'ai retiré le filtre IR d'un Sony NEX-3 usagé. Cela se fait sans soudure. S'agit d'être patient et de ne pas trop trembler. Il n'est pas non plus nécessaire d'ajuster la mise au point, qui se fait directement sur le senseur.
Pour l'IR conventionnel, je mets un filtre sur l'objectif.
I removed the IR filter from a used Sony NEX-3. There is no soldering to do. There is no need to adjust the focus either, because it is done directly on the sensor. What is needed, apart from small screwdrivers, is patience and no shaking.
For standard IR photography, you put a filter on the lens.

This was a test shot to show what a 470 mn infrared filter looks like. I took a series of shots all from the same position, each one using a different lens filter on a full-spectrum converted Sony A55. They were taken behind my apartment on a walking trail bridge that leads to a park.
This image was taken in RAW and processed in Linux using RawTherapee.

Sony NEX-5N plein spectre + filtre Vivitar Cromo Blend Rouge - Bleu + pas mal d'édition
Ce filtre "vintage" polarise les couleurs bleu et rouge, et mieux encore, il transmet l'infrarouge!
