Absolutely stunning little bird popped out of no-where along the Spruce Bog boardwalk in full frame range of my A7r II - although that sensor is getting dated it can still take a shot filled with jaw dropping detail.

Day 4 of our recent UP Michigan Trip started out foggy and misty (same as Day 3), the weather pattern varied as we traversed west, from cloudy to blue sky with puffy clouds back to overcast.
We arrived at Black River Harbor at 5pm LOCAL TIME (!!!), and I totally missed the nearby Rainbow Waterfall because I didn't know of its existence until just now, ugh!
"From the parking lot, follow the paved trail over a 210-foot suspension bridge -— built by the CCC from 1938 to 1939 — to the east side of the Black River.
From there, you can follow a trail to a beach along Lake Superior or hike about 3/4 of a mile south along the North Country Trail for a better view of Rainbow Falls. After the waterfall the trail turns east, so you’ll need to retrace your steps back to your car at the harbor."
Once we crossed the bridge, we headed to the beach (left), never knowing there was a trail on the right!
I shall explain why I emphasized "local time" in a later post.
