Mount Kyllini or Mount Cyllene (/sɪˈliːniː/; Ancient Greek: Κυλλήνη [kylˈlːɛːnɛː], Greek pronunciation: [ciˈlini]), also

known as Mount Ziria (Ζήρεια, Modern Greek: [ˈzirja]), is a mountain on the Peloponnese in Greece famous for its association with the god Hermes. It rises to 2,376 m (7,795 ft) above sea level, making it the second highest point on the peninsula. It is located near the border between the historic regions of Arcadia and Achaea—in the northeast of Arcadia, and entirely within modern Corinthia. It is located west of Corinth, northwest of Stymfalia, north of Tripoli, and south of Derveni. Several modern places are also named Kyllini.

Much of the mountain is barren and rocky, although the area below 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) is largely forested. There is an observatory at 908 metres (2,979 ft), at 22.67 east longitude and 37.97 north latitude. From the top a large portion of northeastern Peloponnesus is visible, including the eastern part of Achaia and Chelmos, the Gulf of Corinth and most of Corinthia, the southern part of Corinthia and parts of northeastern Arcadia. The nearest mountain ranges are Oligyrtos to the south and Chelmos/Aroania to the west. Roads pass near the southern and western slopes, but there are not many on the mountain itself, as much of the mountain is part of a park. The municipal boundary of Stymfalia–Feneos–Evrostini and Xylokastro passes through the mountain.

With clouds. The first full moon in January has often been referred to as the Wolf Moon for centuries. Its origin comes from Native Americans who often heard wolves howling during cold winter nights at this time of year.

It's astonishing to me, the texture that can be caught on this beautiful lens, of the nature around us, that cannot be seen with a naked eye.

These flowers are almost chewable, better looking than all the best Christmas cakes (maybe not the taste-wise, haven't tried)

We began our climb to Poon Hill well before dawn. The world around us was wrapped in fog and thick clouds— even the sunlight couldn’t pierce through. Dhaulagiri was nowhere to be seen; only a grey silence lingered in the cold air scented with pine. We thought perhaps we would miss it today.

Then, with a sudden gust of wind, the clouds began to drift away. Slowly, Dhaulagiri emerged—majestic, silent, yet alive. Its snow-covered peak glimmered in a soft, pale light, like a quiet dream cradled in the arms of the sky. Everyone stood speechless; in that moment, nature revealed itself in all its splendour, wearing the serene beauty of eternity.

Mesmerized by this little guardian of the forest ✨ Perched gracefully on a lichen-covered branch, this small owl locks eyes with the camera, its piercing yellow gaze telling tales of the wild. Fluffy, round, and adorned in a mix of brown and white feathers, it’s a perfect blend of softness and strength. The blurred, muted background draws you into its world, where calm meets alertness. A fleeting moment of nature’s magic, frozen in time. 🌿 Another happy client! 😊

April tours are fully booked. However, limited spots are still available from May through July. To secure your place, please text or call 510-467-2107. Don’t miss this chance to witness one of nature’s most charming predators in its natural habitat. 💖

This is a candid shot from inside a local camera store...I was trying out the 135/1.8, which is about the best lens I've ever had the pleasure of using. Only downsides? Price and size! 😂

Alfa Romeo is an Italian car brand I always loved.

This Wristwatch factory makes watches with logos for the most famous/popular cars, and customers can have their names printed on the face of the Watch.

I do NOT intend to wear it, instead, it will be modified to be fitted as the (Center Horn Button) of the Sports Leather Steering Wheel to replace the older one!

Chronograph extra buttons will not appear anyway!

My photos are never intentionally political. In a sense, this was a sort of experiment in that I know politics is unavoidable for many people viewing this flag ... it is just another carefully made photo ....

one awesome kid recently called me 'leptirko' which means a little butterfly. This is for him.

Golden Grevillea robusta Silky Oak brush flower. For Definitely Dreaming week 49 theme of full-frame.

These beautiful flowers come out in December to provide bright gold colours. The tree is large and well suited to our local climate and bird life!

Poon Hill — a small ridge near the village of Ghorepani in Nepal’s Annapurna region, yet at dawn, it feels as though you’re standing on the very edge of the sky.

Before sunrise, trekkers begin their climb from the quiet village, walking through misty, moonlit trails. The forest is hushed, stars glimmer above, and every step feels like a silent promise. But all that waiting is rewarded when the first light touches the snowy peaks — Machapuchare, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and countless others.

As the sun rises, the mountains seem to wear molten gold — glowing silently in the crisp, cold air. Witnessing this moment, so close to the Himalayas, is not just a sight for the eyes; it’s something that settles deep in the soul.

A Poon Hill sunrise isn’t just for taking pictures — it’s a quiet awakening, a moment to meet the stillness within.
