Ten hours (+/- 1 minute) past full moon (9:11am local time this morning).
I have been busy trying to capture both new subjects and subjects that I have photographed in the past! This falls in the first category, I did try earlier this year to capture a bearded vulture, with no luck. I had good company this time and the weather was a bit more clement. So it was definitely easier to wait for this impressive scavenger to show up.

Ce n'est pas une photo de mon appareil, j'avais un full-frame à disposition et je m'en suis servie! En effet on voit nettement la différence avec mon petit K-x. On était en train d'attendre le choucher du soleil au Lac de Saint Front (Haute Loire), après la baignade.
This not a photo by my own camera, I had a full-frame in my hands once in a lifetime! Indeed the difference with my Pentax K-x is evident. We were waiting for sunset at the lake of Saint Front (Haute Loire, center of France), after swimming.

A second Great Blue Heron that I saw while photographing along the Stanley Park seawall and English Bay in Vancouver, BC. I nearly fell into the sea trying to get a good front shot of him.
