Any ideas? Another rainy weekend in Chicago and I’m thinking what better to do than to spend some time editing few images from the last few sunny days. This is St Regis Chicago wrapped in all the spring glory! What do you think?

The Milky Way in spring is very beautiful in Japan.

The Milky Way and Sakura look great.

Cherry blossoms on what used to be the walls of the old Fukuoka Castle on the Southern Japanese island of Kyushu. This place is famous for its cherry blossoms, and you probably can tell why. In fact, it was very crowded, even though it might not seem that way in this picture. Happy spring, everyone.

福岡城跡地の一部でもある舞鶴公園でライトアップされている桜です。ちょうど満開を迎えたところでした。屋台もたくさん並んでいましたし、人はかなり多かったのです。

A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. 34732

This garden locates in downtown Tokyo among Tokyo Dome and many skyscrapers. I do love the design of garden and shot the weeping sakura with reflection.

Cymbidium commonly known as boat orchids, is a genus of evergreen flowering plants in the orchid family Orchidaceae. They are among the oldest horticultural orchids in the world. They are among the most popular orchid genus. They're an important cut flower crop for florists and are widely cultivated as a grower's fancy. Commonly known as boat orchids, is a genus of evergreen flowering plants in the orchid family Orchidaceae. Orchids in this genus are epiphytic, lithophytic, terrestrial or rarely leafless saprophytic herbs usually with pseudobulbs. There are usually between three and twelve leaves arranged in two ranks on each pseudobulb or shoot and lasting for several years. From one to a large number of flowers are arranged on an unbranched flowering stem arising from the base of the pseudobulb. The sepals and petals are all free from and similar to each other. The labellum is significantly different from the other petals and the sepals and has three lobes. There are about fifty-five species and sixteen further natural hybrids occurring in the wild from tropical and subtropical Asia to Australia. Cymbidiums are well known in horticulture and many cultivars have been developed. Plants in the genus Cymbidium are epiphytic, lithophytic or terrestrial plants, or rarely leafless saprophytes. All are sympodial evergreen herbs. Some species have thin stems but in most species the stems are modified as pseudobulbs. When present, there are from three to twelve leaves arrange in two ranks and last for several years. The leaf bases remain after the leaf has withered, forming a sheath around the pseudobulb. The flowers are arranged on an unbranched flowering stem which arises from the base of the pseudobulb or rarely from a leaf axil. 11592

…… The big shower of petals is beginning to happen whilst I was washing the car today - so I thought I ought to take another shot for my #166 shot of the day. Some serious dead heading to be done shortly too, Jill’s favourite job! Taken on my Phone in Apple RAW and edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)

Camellia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae. Camellias are evergreen shrubs or small trees up to 20 m tall. They are found in eastern and southern Asia, from the Himalayas east to Japan and Indonesia. There are about 300 species and around 3,000 hybrids. Their flowers are usually large and conspicuous, one to 12 cm in diameter, with five to nine petals in naturally occurring species of camellias. The colors of the flowers vary from white through pink colours to red. Of economic importance in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent, leaves of C. sinensis are processed to create the popular beverage tea. The ornamental C. japonica, C. sasanqua and their hybrids are the source of hundreds of garden cultivars. C. oleifera produces tea seed oil, used in cooking and cosmetics. The various species of camellia plants are generally well-adapted to acid soils rich in humus, and most species do not grow well on chalky soil or other calcium-rich soils. Most species of camellias also require a large amount of water, either from natural rainfall or from irrigation, and the plants will not tolerate droughts. However, some of the more unusual camellias – typically species from karst soils in Vietnam – can grow without too much water. 36708

Whether one interprets the six days of Genesis as literal or typological intervals (the Church Fathers favored the latter), the narrative arc of creation is inherently temporal. It is rooted in sequence—a first, next, and last, with one creative act layered upon the next. The luminaries were ushered into being ahead of breathing creatures and given the vocation of marking time (Gen. 1: 14, 15), thus manifesting temporality in visible signs. The last layer of creation was unfurled when God, resting from His labors, “blessed the seventh day and sanctified it” (Gen. 2: 3). This final day of creation is a proxy not just for all subsequent Sabbaths, but for all of time on earth—the way it goes forth yet returns, always, to rest in the peace of eternity. When reading this narrative, it is difficult to see the baseness of time Plato and others lamented—in these first few scenes of Genesis, change is holy. Each new development brought about more life and beauty than before—making God’s love more manifest and capable of being encountered. Likewise, each addition to creation was beheld and blessed by its Maker before He moved to the next.
