Most of the hedges in the Isle of Man are largely clothed in gorse and at this time of year the green fields are surrounded in the yellow of the gorse. Here is a larger area of gorse there are several areas like this.

This is an Amaryllis flower which we were given for Christmas, and which I've been documenting as it opens up with a beautiful flower. or flowers. In this image I just photographed the one entire plant with every flower that was completely open.
Lighting: The main light was a Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box positioned at camera right and just out of the frame. I used a hand mirror at camera left to bounce some light onto that part of the flower. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.
Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1900 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/
It was a very pleasant walk around the Japanese-style Garden 神苑at the Heian Shrine平安神宫, Kyoto, seeing the many weeping cherry trees, particularly when it was full bloom time. This photo was taken from the Bridge 泰平閣(橋殿), just across the pond inside the Higashi Shin’en (East Garden).
If the sun and the blue sky were there, it would have been perfect:-)
This is the brightly colored Castle in the corner (Sōryūrō) of the Heian Shrine, Kyoto, Japan, adorned with some unique colors of Spring.
Heian Shrine (平安神宮, Heian Jingū) has a relatively short history, dating back just over a hundred years to 1895. The shrine was built on the occasion of the 1100th anniversary of the capital's foundation in Kyoto and is dedicated to the spirits of the first and last emperors who reigned from the city, Emperor Kammu (737-806) and Emperor Komei (1831-1867). Heian is the former name of Kyoto. [Source: japan-guide.com]
Walking leisurely along the riverbanks of Kamo River was a pure joy, especially with the bonus of the charming cherry blossoms. This is probably the most famous and arguably the most popular river in Kyoto.
Taken at Kamo River (鴨川), Kyoto, Japan
Victoria has experienced a once in 50 years flood for the last few weeks. Banksia Park Cherry Grove, essentially a stone's throw distance from Yarra River, has been inundated by flood water. Access has been blocked off for 3 days.
The blossoming trees are Shogetsu. This was taken after the first flood. Another major flood recurred 2 weeks after this. Fingers crossed that the cherry trees can survive this severe test.
The weather was quite unstable, this was one the few moments when shifting clouds produced dramatic effects on this collection of 7 or 8 original 40 year old trees.
Anyone visiting Kyoto should not miss this unique 800-metre long path 『半木の道』(なからぎのみち) along the Kamo River (Kamogawa 鴨川), immediately adjacent to the Kyoto Botanic Garden. One would be dazzled by the surrounding beauty of the Cherry Blossoms.
Walking leisurely along the riverbanks of Kamo River (Kamogawa 鴨川) was a pure joy, especially with the bonus of the charming cherry blossoms. Many local people came here to have picnics, bicycle rides, and simply to admire the beauty of the surrounding scenery. This is probably the most famous and arguably the most popular river in Kyoto.
I was so happy to have decided to come to Kamo River on my last day in Kyoto, reflecting on the beautiful moments experienced during the entire stay here.
Would have liked this shot at a lower perspective, but I can’t get down on the ground, until I get maximum movement back in my ankle. Oh sure, I can get down there, but I would need assistance to get back up.
I've wanted more colour in my garden for a long time, so late last year I had some raised beds created and planted. It's been a joy to watch the new plants grow and flourish. Of course, now I wish I'd done it years ago! The bokeh colours come from a dwarf Buddleia and Helenium, which has matured from its early bright red to more autumnal hues.
The egret was staying on the branch of the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Assimilated into cherry blossoms, no one but me seemed to be aware of the bird there.
満開の桜の枝に白鷺。花に同化していて、私以外の人はその存在に気付いていませんでした。
Two seasons, one photo. While the Alps are still covered in Snow, trees and canola are in full bloom in the low lands.
Zwei Jahreszeiten, ein Bild. Die Alpen sind noch mit Schnee bedeckt, in tieferen Lagen sind die Obstbäume und der Raps am Blühen.
En pleine floraison, bien au chaud à l'intérieur !
In full bloom, nice and warm inside !
