At the moment I'm still processing and scanning the films used during our summer holiday roadtrip through the Netherlands. Those will follow soon but for now
A few older ones (05-2020) We love to go out for a hike when we have some time left.
We decided to visit one of our favorite areas at National Park Dwingelderveld.
Followed parts of different hiking trails and enjoyed the time spend at the NP.
As we do almost every time we took some of our analog gear with us.
One of our Canon Eos 3 cameras was used, decided to use some of the original Fuji Acros 100
We still had some of the original version not the new Acros II. These rolls are from the last batch they produced before canceling it with an expiry date 10-2019.
Developing is as always done with our Caffenol recipe, Caffenol-C-L at 22c and stand developing for 50 minutes

Much attention is paid to the crashing waves and giant haystack rocks that dot the Oregon Coast, and rightly so, but one can also get lost looking down to the textures and forms underfoot.
While Sarah was walking up and down the beach, enjoying the sun and surf, I was mesmerized by this partially hidden piece of driftwood and the sand patterns that formed around it. Depending on the winds, it's possible this wasn't here the day before, or maybe it was gone the day after. Regardless, this scene caught my eye and the attention of my lens, resulting in one my favorite images from the trip.

Summer doesn't technically start for another nine days, but the temps are already climbing. Yesterday was unseasonably warm and today is slated to reach 97 here in Portland. It's days like this I miss the snowy wind blown slopes of Mt. Hood.
There's a loop trail that heads out from near Timberline Lodge with lots of cool trees and views over the valley below, but getting off trail is where it's at. It's fun to trudge around in the deep stuff, but at times it's hard to know where the elevation changes lie. Snow blends into snow, and on an overcast day the clouds can blend in pretty seamlessly too. On this day there was just enough sky peaking through to tell the difference. Sarah also helps to provide a little perspective.

Some early morning fog on a walk along the river. Word on the web is that Fuji will be reintroducing Acros film later this year as Acros II. Counted me as excited. Some of my all-time favorite black and white films are the Fujis: Neopan 400, then Neopan 1600 and last but not least, Acros. Acros was the last man standing and while I don't think we'll ever see Neopan 400 or 1600 again, Acros is a more than worthy consolation prize.

winter's day. empty frame.
velvia 50, nikon fg-20, 28mm, f/8 - i think ... did not make a note.
color true and desaturated slightly - velvia produces very saturated colors ... good for some scenes. not always the best, though.)
good example (i think) of dynamic range available with a careful exposure. this film is not very forgiving.

A short while ago, like most weekends we do have some time left for a hike.
The weather forecast for the weekend made us decide to go for the Saturday as the best option.
We woke up and we were greeted by some light rain, almost decided to stay at home, but after some tea and coffee we went to the Dalerpeel area, a raised bog area that was used in the past for peat cutting. Nowadays it's a nature reserve.
Followed the hiking trail maintained by the Drentslandschap. A nice trail only the small part that follows a local road is not that nice.
Even for a local road there is a lot of traffic
And used one of our Canon Eos 3 cameras again. The camera was loaded with our last Fujifilm Acros100
This was our last original version not the new II with an expiry date 10-2019.
Developing is as always done with our Caffenol recipe, Caffenol-C-L at 22c and stand developing for 50 minutes this time.
The original Acros does like Caffenol, the results are nice again
