I hope to catch up with you tonight, HMM, Everyone and always stay safe and healthy!

Galette, or crêpe, préparation was central to food preparation in Brittany. Here is the corner reserved just for the crêpes.

In my childhood, I tasted galettes made on such plaques and cooked over a wooden fire. I have never been able to find that taste again - it was so good!

Thank you for your visit, comment or fave. All are much appreciated.

Each May the little town of Camogli on Italy's Ligurian coast holds a fish festival. It's dedicated to St Fortunato, the patron saint of fishermen. Several tonnes of fish are fried in this huge pan 4m in diameter and holding 3,000 litres of oil.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Today’s Smile on Saturdays theme is to portray the name of a music band.

I have chosen the internationally (!!!!) known group of The Cosmic Sausages. They are a six piece party band comprising violin, double base, accordion, mandolin, guitar and harmonica. They have a repertoire of over 70 songs, melodies and theme tunes. They give unusual and hilarious twists to well known songs.

Feel free to google them.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Smile on Saturday 😀.....

For a brunch at Kurt&Kurt Edna enjoyed a meat platter (flic.kr/p/2gwwAvm). But of course that didn‘t stop her from snatching from the other dishes, whatever she found delicious.

No photo trickery, this is how it turned out. Naturally I had to take a pic, as you do. Uploading to celebrate National Egg Day nationaldaycalendar.com/national-egg-day-june-3rd/

A former work colleague bought is a Samuel Groves pan, it's really rather nice. Scene is just under 3 inches. HMM

snapshot from my garden,an old frying pan now serves as a bathtub for the birds

I always loved this shot. A variation of this one was used in my first book, "The Secret Life of Squirrels"

This is the same tower I took a shot of from inside of the top here. This was taken near the bottom looking up.

Decía la patata...

Pues eso, patatas fritas o mas bien friéndose

Esto me pasa cuando ya no se me ocurre nada de nada y ando falta de ideas...

This is the last shot I'll share of the Fryingpan Mountain fire tower. I previously shared images from inside the top (here) and looking up from underneath (here). This was shot partway up the steps looking out at the mountains the tower was designed to protect from forest fires.

#52 Weeks: the 2025 edition

#Week 10: In the kitchen

The road from Hayle to Portreath ( B3301 ) runs at sea level until Gwithian and Godrevy Lighthouse and then at a cliff top level before dropping down into Portreath . Along the road as it goes along the cliff top has a number of pull-ins ( some big enough for a coach or two ) and for some reason we call them the Frying Pans , probably as from a narrow entrance they open out into the unsurfaced parking places . Thus here is a view from one of these pull-ins looking back west in the direction of Hayle . The views are magnificent on a day like this and in the other direction one can see the golf ball installation on the old Nancekuke airfield - that is another story including whatever has been buried deep in the old mine shafts under the airfield !!

My only regret with this shot is how the horizon on the sea matches up with the cliff tops on the left , would have liked a step in the levels there !!

This is a view from inside the lookout tower on Fryingpan Mountain. It was erected by the US Forest Service in 1941 to watch for forest fires and was used until the early 90's before being decommissioned. It's the tallest such tower in western North Carolina.

Little Tahoma and Fryingpan glacier flank Mt. Rainier on the right as seen from the Summerland section on the Wonderland Trail.

Replacement for the photo before in my stream, as it was not close enough to something egg.

Sorry, but i' m crazy !

(301/366) Especially for Paul Fraser, when you run out of ideas for your daily picture then your dinner will suffice! Usually I steam Asparagus but our old bamboo steamer went in the skip prior to moving & we hadn't got around to buying a new one so I pan fried these spears in locally produced Rapeseed oil. Very tasty they were too. Catching up with my One photo a day project.

A pillar, about 12 feet tall, stuck up in the middle of a wide shelf below the Frying Pan trail. The top of the pillar has a small, almost circular arch. This area sports many interesting rock formations.

Brats and Kielbasa looking good. Moved to Goebel Park on the west of the Main Strauss.
