it has snowed all day, we only have afew heavy wet inches here but up on the hill there is a LOT more snow.
so... before bed I had to play with learning about tripods a little more.
They're like chocolate chip cookies with nuts. Except the nuts are made out of bacon.
I'm trying not to include the floor in this picture because I spilled cat food all over setting up a chair to stand on to take the picture.

frosting the carrot cake. as you can see it was a double layer cake AND i even put a crumb coat on it.
Making cinnamon rolls has become a weekly thing. Something E does on their own. Always making just one with more frosting which is their first to snag and eat.
Had some nice fog settle over the city for the last couple of days so had to come out to try to capture some scenery. Missed my chance the last time fog stayed around for a few days.

This is about when the feller arrived and was almost the cause of a complete breakdown. The 2nd frosting fail in 24 hours.
Frosting some better looking cookies (better looking than the unusually thick seafoam green batch of cookies I'd made just before these).
30 pound buckets of frosting waiting for cakes. The frosting is best to use when it has set over night for better uses. Easier to spread when some of the air deflates out of it due to the whipping process.

The tread (timing mechanism) is lasered into the plywood (~1mm deep) and the timing pulleys are coupled to the motor and walk up and down the tread.

My friend Vickie was celebrating her birthday and her sis made a homemade cake for the occasion. It was damn good, too!
I'm posting this recipe because while on a search for a coffee buttercream recipe, a simple one WITHOUT egg whites, a simple one that was NOT a SMBC, I could not find one! So here is just a simple regular coffee-flavored buttercream that anyone can make.
Craft project 3 was sugar skulls!
The conference was hosted in Southern California at the end of October near the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertes or Day of the Dead. This is the time of year families remember their loved ones and make offerings and altars with sugar skulls, marigolds and bits of shiny objects.
Henna Caravan lives in an area that is rich in Mexican heritage and culture so we decided to share this holiday with the conference.
Kendra made all the sugar skulls by hand. But the ladies had to help roll dozens and dozens of cones of bright colored frosting to decorate the sugar skulls.
The motifs and patterns caught on through out the weekend and Debi and Kim are now in full fledged warfare and sugar skull inspiration! rock on girls!
