I had this fence put in the summer after I moved into this house.. The old fence was a wreck.. No matter I wanted cedar anyway... Fappy Fence Friday, Everybody!!!

Significant snowfall has been so rare this winter that one is tempted to snatch up a front row seat to watch it.
Unfortunately out of focus, but I still like it!
With a few extension tubes, different adapters, a CCTV lens and some time on the lathe I've pimped up the 60mm macro a bit. Now only very little light reaches the sensor and the image is upside down, but insects are hardly disturbed by the small lens diameter of just a centimeter. With this setup incredibly interesting perspectives are possible, focusing properly is not easy with moving insects but If it was easy, it would not be fun.
Canandaigua Lake's pier is a gorgeous place to watch a sunrise. The herons, ducks and cormorants line up to watch it with you, while the seagulls fly over.
The White-fronted Tern are very active at Scarborough, Christchurch at present. Here is one of the flight shots I managed but with an artistic edit applied.
It was snowing for the first time today as I was taking this.
Well, the first time any snow actually stuck to the ground.
If you click "L" you can see some snow on my hat and jacket.
I slept all day today and woke up at 8pm..so I went to take pictures to distract myself.
I feel like I should've done some things differently today.
But what's done is done.
This is our "Hannukah Bush" as I call it.
It's just Christmas lights around a bush with blue and white ornaments, which remind me of Hannukah.
This is practically sooc btw.

A black skimmer viewed from the front while a laughing gull and royal tern watch from behind. There were 2 skimmers, 7 terns, and about 20 laughing gulls all hanging out together at Pensacola Beach.

I'm relatively new to bird photography; after I take a shot of a bird I often have to look them up on the computer when I get home to get an ID.
I knew these were swallows but not sure their name. This couple helped me out by displaying both the front and back. I think Barn Swallows are beautiful birds; the nice light here really made their colors pop.

Migrants from their tundra breeding grounds stop over in Missouri River refuge ahead of a winter storm. A Bald Eagle roused the geese with a lazy flyover.

If Lina wanted to go out for a comfort break, we had to let her out the front door, as it was more secure than the 'garden' at the back. It was pretty with the plants here, although rather overlooked by the neighbouring houses and people walking down the street to the shops!!

. . . The heart of the Traverse City downtown area on a snowy almost Christmas night! The community Christmas tree is just to the left in the middle of Cass Street, Expresso Bay is just to the right, and of course the famous State Theater sign lights the entire block.
