I enjoy my homemade vegetarian chili and creamy polenta while Mike sucks on his fast.

NOM NOM PIZZA. One with sausage, olives, onions, red & green peppers, one with proscuttio, artichoke hearts, onions and white sauce, and a barbecue one, full of manly ingredients. (aka meat.)

Whisking is hard work!! It was taking the cream forever to thicken up.

I couldn't handle the circular whipping motion any more so I just started doing this. It was working!

with the frozen blueberries, that is, from last year

I was told this car was built from scratch from the ground up. Wasn't done in time for last years race season.

Homemade banana nut bread, still warm from the oven and slathered with butter. And a cup of milk. It just doesn't get much better than this...

For less than $3.79 you get the same amount of everything. I put the spices out in the jars to show what I used in the dish, but they're all actually included in that little bowl on the left

Fresh from the oven waiting for cream cheese icing.

Basket #3

This was my first attempt at making a basket from scratch, from a pattern called "Amy's Basket". I'm starting to notice a trend that getting the basket started is the easy part! The top half of this design in particular was really a challenge, largely because the handle is built into the entire basket, meaning that the weave must conform to the shape of the handle. The handle for this basket tapers considerably from the base all the way up. Things got a little scary near the end; I had my first try at trimming down the stakes as I neared the top (to keep the vertical spacing somewhat more consistent), so that was pretty intimidating. But, I survived...and finished it halfway through the night :-)

Despite my tribulations, it is a very nice, sturdy basket, suited well for carrying any number of items from point A to B.

Dimensions: 8" x 8" x 8" (12", including the handle)
