This pretty much sums up my Super Bowl participation this year. Baking soft pretzels from scratch. That's game food right?
other than the pasta (recipe from the back of bob's red mill semolina flour), this is the ultimate in simplicity. a little italian sausage from pastaworks, sauteed in a little olive oil, a few onions chopped and sauteed well, then in dumped the rest of a can of tomatoes. salt, pepper, and drizzled with some good olive oil. then spoonfuls of ricotta, which was really a step in between ricotta and mozzarella.
I got this recipe from my Beard or Bread book. That guy is great. Although he is really heavy on the salt. Whatever he suggests for salt, I usually half, it not more. Somehow 1T is just too much. I go for 2 t. This is my first very successful loaf of white bread. yummy yum yum! I think I'll go have a sandwich!
I'm a lame pastmaker without a fair techinque, but I have fun a lot with my lovely Marcato Atlas 150. Here's a cute attempt to make tagliatelle with ground parsley

Picked up this set of crocks at a yard sale. Looking forward to using these in future fermentation experiments

Not my creation, though. We have a koi farmer renting out some of our ponds and his wife is a master of all things baked and sweet. This here is a black sesame doughnut with icing AND frosting. Ooooh!! Unfortunately I didn't get to try this one but I bet it was deeeelish. :o)
Lemon-Blueberry Yogurt Bread.
This bread is packed with lemon zest and fresh blueberries, drizzled with a tart lemon syrup, and finally drizzled with a lemon glaze.

Almost finished. Been peddling about on Jimmy wheels the last week. Just gotta change the brake cables for some white ones and put a fixed sprocket on the flip side of the hub
The baked pumpkin after being mashed. Later, once I mix it with the other ingredients, I usually blend everything to get it super smooth.
