Grilled chicken breast, crisp romaine lettuce and from scratch eggless Ceasar dressing. Crunchy croutons made from the bakeries artisan bread.
I totally fucked up writing "Happy Birthday" in green frosting so I had to scrape it off and redo it. And of course I didn't have any uncolored buttercream left. You can see the evidence, but whatever.
homemade white pizza. crust based on a smitten kitchen recipe. said crust was a big hit with the boyfriend, who pronounced it "fuckin' nice!"
7 individual portion's and one larger jar of freshly made and slightly thin yogurt. 8 cups total
Not bad for my first attempt.
Confession: I am not a fun Mom. At least when it comes to nutrition.. 🙈 you won’t find tetrasodium pyrophosphate, Blue FCF or other toxic garbage in our kitchen, so over the years I’ve found healthy non toxic alternatives to offer the kids. If you’ve never tried homemade marshmallows.. you’ll be blown away by the difference! We’ve been making these since the girls were little and they are always a favourite ☺️Light, fluffy, bouncy and delicately scented with honey and vanilla.. the texture is incredible, the flavour options endless and the process takes maybe 15 minutes of hands on time. You’ll need 3 ingredients: grass fed Gelatin, honey or maple syrup, arrowroot flour. Dissolve 3 Tb of Gelatin into ½ C water, and while it softens, on medium heat, bring to a boil 1 cup honey & ½ cup water. Stir honey for the first minute, then leave it alone. Let the honey get to 240f, (or let boil for 10 minutes until the bubbles in the syrup are small and very shiny), slowly pour syrup into Gelatin mixture (add vanilla drops here), in a stand mixer beat on high until thick and glossy. Spread out into a parchment lined, 8x8 baking dish. Let set overnight. Cut into cubes, toss with arrowroot powder to prevent sticking. They keep for about a week, but they won’t last that long! 😄 Bonus: grass fed Gelatin contains so much nourishing goodness in amino acids, collagen, it’s good for joints, bones, gut health, skin, hair, nails, etc! Flavour ideas: lavender, lemon, mint, chocolate dipped, passion fruit, strawberry! I may or may not have one floating in my coffee right now ❤️#wholefoods #marshmallows #healthytreats #gelatin #collagen #guthealth #grassfed #paleo #desserts #eatrealfood #nourishingtraditions #nutrition #nourishing #feedingkids #aminoacids #nosugar #cleaneating #digestion #healthyeating #feedingmyfamily #nourish #fromscratch #honey #arrowrootstarch
All of the tea sandwiches are made on our from scratch breads, all of the fillings are made from scratch in the bakery.
My house is based on the template by savvy-cafe, though I made it a smidge smaller and Christmas-themed. The roof is tiled with Golden Grahams and Cheerios, and the snowy bushes are meringue cookies. I skipped the royal icing and just went with plain old powdered sugar and water.
Yellow cakes, butter cream with chocolate cookie crumbs for dirt.
I was asked to do the cake last minute for my nephew's birthday party which was on Saturday. I basically came up with the idea on the spot in a matter of about 2 minutes. It came out waaay cuter than I ever imagined. I think this is to date one of my best yet. I'm definitely NOT bragging, but I'm pleased with it myself, and he and his mom along with all his friends loved it. Boys, the grosser it is the more they love it right?

I definitely do not encourage jumping on the counter, but I have to admit I was secretly hoping Duncan would, just this once because I know it would be the cutest photo.
And he did it! Without any prompting from me, he jumped up to try to snag one of his birthday cupcakes. Unfortunately it was over so quickly I never got a great photo, but these will have to do.
Made from scratch - puff pastry filled with some home made cranberry jam, raisins, walnuts and a touch of chocolate.
Today I am grateful for holidays. Especially this one. Thanksgiving is my favorite. I just love everything about it. The fact that family gets together to share the entire day without any expectations other than to enjoy one another's company is awesome. And the food. Who could forget the food. The smells that fill our home the day before the actual holiday and all day on the day of are glorious. I love holidays mostly because they revolve around family and there is no place I'd rather be than spending time with my family.
Pour the cultured milk into warmed jars sitting in warm water. Strain if you are aiming for a thicker final product. Here you can see I strained the cultured milk into one jar and the remainder was left unstraintd.
