Atlanta Botanical Garden, Sunday 9-25-05.

See my ABG set here.

I had to be VERY quick as I took this. The balloon was only about 6-8 feet above me and moving very fast. It had just taken off and I quickly ran underneath it to get the shot. I was lucky that my timing was just right.

Someone I should make a film with that title (maybe I will :) ), like Wenders did with Berlin in its beautiful 1987 movie Der Himmel über Berlin.

Looking straight up at the ceiling in Bath Abbey. Lining it up made me quite giddy.

The mosaic celling of the interior crypt of the tower.

So many people marvel at the views from the top. What about from the bottom?

The sky is unretouched in this scanned photo.

(October 2000)

A recent discovery (2013) for me in the Bois Briard in Evry-Courcouronnes. With the help of local people, the artist Molinari created this concrete sculpture in 1989 to mark the bicentennial of the French Revolution..

A random metal tripod thing spanning the road in downtown Astana.

The light really sucked, so I've oversaturated the colors and pimped the skies.

I love playing with perspective.

Kevin and I went to downtown Pittsburgh and walked around a bunch. We spent some time at The Point. The sky was pretty and we sat on the edge of the fountain and watched it for awhile.

(PS - 1000th upload! And I've been on flickr for almost exactly 4 years!)

What a wonderful day! Two terrific friends of ours got married. And what a pair. We couldn't be more happier for the two. Congrats!

Near the Arundel Wharf restaurant, collection of old lobster buoys.

Lights, facade, Chicago. Twilight shot, looking up with the camera propped on a tile.

Wall Arch.

Arches National Park, Utah, USA.

We were faced with a substantial wait for brunch which gave me plenty of time to contemplate this great old tree.

As seen on Brownstoner!

One of the main ideas behind the from BELOW group is to find the unusual angle. Most of the time, photos from below show angles we can see if we only stopped to look up. Video gives a new twist to this, though: I wouldn't dare look up as I skate, to see what the trees look like from below as I pass under them... simply because I'd fall flat.

Not a problem with a handy camera...
