The interior of one of the 12 cones that represented the EU members at the time at Expo 92, Seville.
Expo 92 took place from April to October 1992 on La Isla de La Cartuja, Seville, Spain. The site is partly derelict and ruined, and partly redeveloped into a Science and Technology Park. The combination of both, along with some weird music from the nearby Isla Mágica theme park, makes a weirdly desolate scene at the weekend.
Another 300+ year Bur Oak at Cantigny will fall tomorrow. There's only one left. Luckily it's in a safe place.

I love this time when bushes and trees are blooming :)
Smile on Saturday - theme: "Season's Beauty" :)
Our Daily Challenge - theme: "Uncountable".
drink up sweet decadence.
i can't say no to you,
and i've completely lost myself, and i don't mind.
i can't say no to you.
shouldn't have let you conquer me completely.
now i can't let go of this dream.
can't believe that i feel...
good enough,
i feel good enough.
it's been such a long time coming, but i feel good.
and i'm still waiting for the rain to fall.
pour real life down on me.
'cause i can't hold on to anything this good enough.
am i good enough for you to love me too?
so take care what you ask of me,
'cause i can't say no.

Last summer, a group of honey bees built a very large honey comb about 35 feet up in the neighbor's tree. They tried for a couple of months to get a bee keeper to come and get them, but the height and some health issues prevented anyone from rescuing them. The honeycomb slowly lost bees as winter approached. Hoping they all found new homes. Unfortunately, the honeycomb remains as a reminder. Pretty sure after the winter we had, any honey that remained is no longer salvageable.
In our backyard, I imagine the fence is about as old as the building itself though I know it really isn't. But in the state that it's in it must be at least 20 years old. While it's an eyesore, it makes for wonderful texture.
MelissaMorgan (see comments below) asked me to take a pic of the soles of my feet. Thanks for the project. Any more projects? Send 'em my way.
The "Maxxi" is a great inspiration for many architecture photographers - it is very interesting to have a look on the different "interpretation keys" - it is a demonstration that the same subject can be viewed and reproducted in so many ways, and each of them has an its own meaning and sense.
You could start a good "Maxxi Tour" having a look on Anna's excellent galleries about this subject:
- maxi
- MAXXI (terza parte in progress)
Many thanks to borealnz for the texture :-)
I came to see just one thing and I was glad they were still here. Not a full-on bloom, but enough to make my heart giggle.
It's only appropriate that, since the Army brought Mustangs with their color guard (see previous two pictures), there be a very nice Mustang at the car show.
And, in case you're wondering, I photoshopped the license plate. I usually just obscure them when I post to Flickr, but since it's so prominent with this perspective, I tried something different.

Baby's breath. Very tiny. X-tremely close.
Wikipedia says ~ The baby's-breath most commonly used in flower arrangements such as bouquets is the common gypsophila, Gypsophila paniculata.
