The mating embrace of common frogs

I'm fascinated by frogs. I the way back from the canyon I got a chance to get a shot of this little fella. I had to keep the dog on a tight leash so he didn't scare him away. Found near the little pond with the eggs.

Several of these toads were mating in a swampy area, this guy had not found a mate yet and was calling out for one.

Northern Crawfish Frog (Lithobates areolatus circulosa) Williamson Co, Illinois

I was at Springwatch's very own Pensthorpe, on Monday 22nd March for my birthday, and took some photos of the wildlife there. Me and my girlfriend came across lots and lots of frogs along the pathway, had to spend a lot of the time looking down as to not step on them! I guess we chose a good day, seemed like they were making their first 'hops' into the new world!

The Common Frog This one managed to get into a water feature pot which is nearly 3ft tall, unsure that it would be able to get out? we removed it! Only to discover it had returned by the next morning
