Guess he really doesn't count as a pet, though he stayed in my shower for nearly a week before I worried about how he was getting food and put him out on the jasmine vines by the porch.
Most of the frogs that I've seen out of the water sit on the grass. But everybody's got their 'druthers & this one prefers the mud.
Litoria dentata? Red eyes, not the usual tree or marsh frog. Tiny, perhaps v. young. Living in our roof guttering (as these red-eyed guys do).

Like small children, we waded through the river, peering along the edge, each time exclaiming "there's another one!". A nice way to spend a hot summer afternoon.
