This pooch stayed with us for the entirety of our trek. Gaddi Kutta is a breed native to Himalayan regions (seen here in Uttarakhand, India) and known for being intelligent, gentle, and strong enough to stop snow leopard attacks.
Following a Bible study for South Asian migrant workers living in Southeast Asia, Burt Gavin*, an American who has lived in South Asia for 16 years, talks with and encourages the men who are learning about Christianity. Through his South Asian language experience, Gavin was able to translate during the Bible study, which was led by Feng Tan*, a Chinese pastor living and ministering in Southeast Asia. Even without a mutual language, Tan and his church members have been working among the migrant workers. Galvin fills a need by weekly translating from English, which Tan speaks well, into a South Asian language the workers share. (Photo by Kelvin Joseph)
