Bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps) are among the easiest and best lizards to have as shown here with Liam. Bearded dragons are native to Australia.
Wage 53/365.
Wage and Babo spent the entire afternoon trying to make conversation with the flower. It was sort of a one sided conversation...
There's a big friendly statue of a big friendly boar, cast in big friendly bronze, on the main pedestrian street in Munich.
Munich, Germany.
PR-campaign for the police helping foreigners in Jing An District, Shanghai China. Huge police mascottes and foreigner with Arctic Monkeys shirt.
Some details from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. This tree looks so happy! I am not sure why, since it looks like he has been chopped into pieces already..
A massive drumming band complete with brass section play in front of Central Station Hotel. One of the players recognises a friend in the audience.
A side door of one of the apartment buildings I often walk by. Sometimes I've seen people here in all the chairs and more standing around. Apparently quite a friendly, sociable group of renters.
This is probably my last PowerShot A590IS flickr picture, because late this afternoon I returned the defective camera for a full refund. The day after purchase its zoom lens started lurching uncontrollably and the playback of stored pictures often refused to work at all. The A590IS has many features I like, and a few that annoy me, most of all glare that often obscured the display (I sure have been spoiled by my the digital viewfinders in my two Olympus digital cameras). The construction on the one I happened to get felt light and shoddy, waiting for a bump or simply a little more use for the next feature to stop working. I'm sorry to give up its portability, but it didn't feel like a camera I could depend on (like my Olympus SP-550UZ, so far).
By the way, you can easily see the barrel distortion along the top edge of this A590IS shot. My SP-550UZ also has some barrel distortion, it seems hard to avoid in wide angle lenses, even those for SLRs. This A590IS picture was shot at its most wide angle, which is about the equivalent of only a 35mm lens (slightly wide angle) for a old 35mm film camera.
Friendly Beaches was named after an early meeting between British sailors and the Great Oyster Bay Aboriginal groups. The spirit of camaraderie did not last long, however...and a trading argument between local people and sailors was soon settled with musket-shot.
Despite the heinous reputation of its rulers, Turkmenistan's citizens are remarkably friendly. Few foreigners visit the country, so I suspect that Turkmens go out of their way to show kindness and generosity to strangers.
