The 105 Freeway meets the 710 Freeway. A tangled knot of concrete and pavement. This is what a majority of the Los Angeles area looks like. I'll be honest, it took a few years to be able to find my way around without my nose buried in a Thomas Guide (as I moved here before the iPhone and Google Maps became ubiquitous). At the height of the golden hour, this hazy sunset begins. The neighborhood of Lynwood, in the upper left, glows under the setting sun.

State Route 1 (SR 1), more often called Highway 1, is a state highway that runs along much of the Pacific coast of the U.S. state of California. It is famous for running along some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.
This stretch is the Freeway from Monterey to San Francisco, a part of SR1.

Took a short drive to this 110 freeway overpass, looking south toward downtown. No traffic, almost surreal.
I didn't risk my life for this shot, I actually was on a sidewalk when I took this picture.

This was taken on our way back from the dunes and Mexicali trip during the thanksgiving vacation. This road parallels the U.S.-Mex border which is just a short distance to the south (left) in this photo.
