I worked on the communications for this transmission line. Everyone lost their job. It was NIMBY from hell.

Wyoming is a vast area in wilderness and least populated of all the 50 states. You can find no gas stations, no restaurants and no people for hundreds of miles.

60 miles left in the tank, Devils tower is another 15 from here. Take a chance (lets see if we can make it and then return the same way next morning to nearest gas station in Sundance 25 miles in the opposite direction)....but wait somebody is coming this way.

For years, five days a week I am for a two hours on this freeway. I know every hole on this road.

Have a great day and thank you for visiting.

December 6th, 2023. New flooding is going on up north of me. Glad I don't live up there anymore.

Took a business trip to Houston last month and had been so busy that I lost track of the few chances I had to go sightseeing. The freeway seems to have split neighborhoods in half as illustrated by the series of arched bridges crossing the highway!

By 3pm, when I took this photo, I'd already photographed the skyline from Kenneth Hahn Recreation area, and walked around the canals of Venice, plus shot some vistas from the 70th floor of the Wilshire Grand (the second building from the left in this picture.)

One of my "destinations" were the bridges over the 110. I specifically wanted to get shots of the buildings with the freeway and clouds in the sky.

Of course by the time I got here, the clouds were almost gone, and ol' Mr. Sol decides to get center stage in my photo. I tried as much as I could to hide him with a palm tree.

Now inside Duluth, the pizza train continues down the shore of lake superior. On the left, is the beginning/end of I-35

View from the Freeway showing how built up Melbourne is. I have removed one building from the shot to get a better view. A cloudy weekend coming up - our autumnal days are now well turned towards the grey and cool.

A bit of PS magic, and with the sky replacement as well. For Definitely Dreaming week 19: Building
