I remember messing about with framing the pier with the railings. Best of the bunch.
Taken back in '09 with my old d50.

This is 'Framed', it brings together old school-styled roses emerging from a dark background, framed in, and spilling over the squared modern lines to make the flowers seem like they are floating within the space.

I love how flowers can teach us so much about life.
Free horses on the Bila plateau above Mostar, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Horses "entered" the Audi 80 through an open window. Hundreds of horses roam freely on this high plateau. Visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, visit Mostar and the Bile plateau where these wonderful horses are!
Benni is being very supportive of the Old San Juan group theme of "Framed". She may be black, eyes almost black too, but she's still a piece of cake to work with compared to my experience yesterday.
I was asked to photograph 2 month old twins, Jane and Caroline, and their mom, grandmother, and two toddler siblings were all there too. What with spitting up, crying, wiggling, time out for eating, 2 year old brother vying for attention and 4 year old sister wanting to be in the pictures too, I went bonkers. 123 photos and the mother and grandmother were pleased and I came home vowing to never do this again! Give me Benni anytime!
So I inadvertently built a frame into my Andrealphus mecha. I guess it was all the IBO stuff I've been building. Anyway, here's the inner frame of it if anyone's interested. It's got plenty of poseability, but the knee joints can fail if you're not careful. Maybe I'll use this in future builds. We'll see.
Feel free to use this in your own builds btw :)
For these people who do, don't feel bad for me "for being the only girl", I know you may have advantages that I'm missing, but I have mine that you're missing as well!
Living this way, it taught me to be independent, and then it taught me to be strong. Afterwards the best stuff came up, I found myself to be unique, rational, grandma like "sometimes", confident, understanding when needed, observing for my own good, caring, I know it all turns out well at the end of the day, only if I decided to make it. I know god had put me here at this very educating place because he loves me, and for that I'm very grateful. If I can be, I know everyone should, because we all are set in our own educating places, and once we recognize that, I think the world will be a better place.
Lately I learned that nothing happens to us unless we chose to let it happen, I'm talking about almost everything. I'm taking this as my new golden rule in life, and I wanted to share it with you guys, hope you chose it to help you ^_*
If you read all that, seriously thank you very much!
I am going to be off for a while for my finals, I'll see you guys soon enough =)

I photographed these interesting old objects at Canyon Creek Ranch in Arizona during an all day workshop put on by the Arizona Professional Photographers Association. This was during a period between workshops, and I took the time to photograph some of the colorful objects on display there.
Lighting stuff: Lit with a YN560-III in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box, hand held at camera left and just out of the frame. I used side lighting to emphasize the shapes and textures. The flash, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. The light inside the container is another flash in manual mode with a cto gel on it.
Other images that I took during the day long workshop at Canyon Creek Ranch are in my Canyon Creek Ranch Album.
.. Not posed - feel free to suggest better captions - this cat just put himself in the frame as I was helping a friend move.
