Managed to snap this one as the sun was emerging over the horizon - the framing was a challenge with so much clutter
Another from my bouquet - I seemed to get just one of several different flowers - which suited me fine from a photographer's point of view!! I tried to present them in different ways - don't want to get monotonous do I? Lol ....
I saw this male Northern cardinal from my desk and went to the window to capture the bird framed by the encircling autumn leaves of my Japanese maple 'bloodgood'.

New York City's Empire State Building as viewed from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Clear October skies and dramatic clouds after a Norr'Easter....
Perfect light conditions on the foreground makes this a perfectly framed sunset on the Donk, during one of our walks this weekend
The Akerselva River in Oslo, framed by trees. This river, including its source, is entirely within the city of Oslo. We did a nice hike along it this morning in the rain.
On our visit to Kingsbridge we walked up the highstreet and spend some time in the sun next to this church. There was a really old cemetary hidden down a slope behind a field across the church. I remember the oldest gravestone being from the mid 17th century. Wikipedia tells me that the original church is from the 13th century and has been modified a few times in its long history. To get a shot including the nice flowering shrub on the left I went as far back as I could into the hedge but my wideangle was still barely wide enough to get all into one frame.
Sunrise is a lovely time of day.
This was taken a few hundred yards from my house... Castlecaulfield has a wonderful horticultural society and they created a lovely wee conservation area just above the playing fields, and I stepped in through the gate to get this framed shot.
I was almost deafened with the birdsong, it was awesome!!
This week, we're in for lots of rain, but hopefully the sunshine is on the cards again soon. I hope our Summer isn't over just yet LOL
Have a great week every one, and thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment :)
Sixth image in Bird Art series...
I enjoyed some creative framing here, highlighting the American Robin in an oval design.
I like challenging myself to try new techniques and styles in my photography. It's fulfilling and helps me think outside the box. Maybe it keeps my old brain from turning to mush!

Cortaderia selloana, commonly known as pampas grass, is a flowering plant native to southern South America, including the Pampas region after which it is named. There are around 25 species in the genus Cortaderia.
It is a tall grass, growing in dense tussocks that can reach a height of 3m. The leaves are long and slender, with very sharp edges. The leaves are usually bluish-green, but can be silvery grey. The flowers are produced in a dense white panicle 20–40 cm long on a 2–3 m tall stem.
The snow fall has changed the atmosphere creating a winter wonderland. Looking down the Military Canal , flanked by snow, was such a calming and peaceful experience. Nature always surprises.

A view of the Shard on my way home - the clocks changed this weekend for Daylight Saving and I'd spotted this weeks ago but the weather was poor and it was too dark - with an ND filter it has come out okay in early evening.
……Late afternoon sunshine the other day shining through the front room window - still with Christmas adornments in situ (now gone!). Hope you are having a great Sunday and be sure to stay Covid safe - protect yourself & help to protect others who may be more vulnerable. Alan;-)……

No matter how early or quiet you are on the meadow, cows will always come to see what's going on and engage in that funny staring contest you cannot hope to win :-)
For this shot these two ladies were most welcome, as they sort of framed the composition and helped to create a sense fo depth.

Fifteen bird species showed up in the back yard during our recent snow day. Most of them regulars but in higher numbers, came for the free food and drink when many of the other local eateries were closed for the day. In Webster, Texas.
