This one is definitely fragile. A very thin, eggshell china cup brought back from China over 20 years ago.
It's lit with three small flashlights and off camera flash.
Den Haag - Netherlands - Louise Bourgeois - Fragile Goddess
Louise Bourgeois (1911 ā 2010) was a renowned French-American artist and sculptor, best known for her contributions to both modern and contemporary art, and for her spider structures, titled Maman, which resulted in her being nicknamed the Spiderwoman.
In the late 1940s, after moving to New York City, she turned to sculpture. Though her works are abstract, they are suggestive of the human figure and express themes of betrayal, anxiety, and loneliness.
Fragile Minds.
Why did I start this? I started this to express myself when words do not suffice. I've gotten lost in the business of life, in the desperation of being okay.
But sometimes I am not okay. A past still haunts me. I want to choose to let it shape me, not define me.
Fragile hearts lead to fragile minds.

The overall appearance from her large celluloid injected bubble head down to her satin minuscule dainty feet that were like rabbit toes left an innocent and appealing yet strangely, almost aversive, response in its entirety. Because of her eye deformity, Fragility's vision was hazy and clouded. But if it didn't prevent her from dancing in her ballet sequence at local shows and birthday parties, it didn't matter at all. The audience swooned over her more than anyone else in the world and longed to be in a close relationship with this delicate āobjectā. But nothing of the sort was ever allowed according to the staff who were very overprotective in order to preserve Fragility's youth, purity and innocence. Fragility wasnāt even allowed to touch her feet to the ground without slippers made of China silk. She couldn't go out of sight from her protector for fear that she would be harmed. Fragility wished she had been born with an ugly face, normal eyes and an oddly proportioned body. The ones with homely demeanors, and certainly those with normal eyesight, seemed to have a better life altogether.

I am simply in LOVE with her photos (no pun intended). One after the other they continue to awe me. She's such a captivating spirit and her photos carry an old fashioned glamor. Her stream is full of youth, beauty, and stunning tones (who could ask for anything more!?). I highly suggest you give her stream the once over. : )

Photography is expensive sometimes, isn't it?
Luckily after the first glass broke, the rest of the set wasn't worth anything with one missing, which allowed me to carry on shooting.
I thought the result looked kind of arty, something you might stare at in a cafe whilst trying to force down something pretentious made with asparagus, and using nothing but a cocktail stick because that's what everyone is expecting of you in there.
It's been a trying week in the office, fragile is how I feel. TGIF...
