Freedom isn’t free. Independence is fragile. No one I know that fought for this country has fought for socialism. Do not let slick talking politicians sell it out from under us with promises they do not intend to keep. Let us not disgrace all those that have fought and those that have fallen to keep us free.

What you burnt, broke, and tore is still in my hands. I am the keeper of fragile things and I have kept of you what is indissoluble.
How DO you move a snowflake? This is one of the better methods for getting a snowflake from A to B but there is still a chance of breakage as they are very delicate.
This is Elaeovarpus reticulatus also known as Blueberry Ash, a local native here in Sydney. The flowers are small, cute and rather fragile looking.

My impression of the Belgian crisis.
Back in December still a laughing matter but after 170 days, we still don't have a new government. A summary can be found in the article "Belgium Crisis Explained: the kingdom in three parts"

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
Breaking is way easier than fixing. Why do we dare to hurt a fragile soul?

I had hoped like every mother that none of my children would experience the traumatic loss of a friend. I had attended funerals in my youth... it was painful and unforgettable and something I prayed would escape their childhood.
Nearly two weeks have passed since receiving Victors phone call. I heard his devastated voice and I knew something terrible had happened...
He had just learned his good friend had been shot and had passed away.
The boy was 17 years old, his friend and classmate.
How I wanted to sweep him into my arms. How I wanted to protect him from all the pain he was feeling.
He said “I just needed to call you and tell you I love you.” And he sobbed uncontrollably.
I feel like every thing I said to him was a reach and search to calm him. There wasn’t anything I could say to help.
Death is incredible hard to understand, especially under these circumstances. When my boys were toddlers and would ask “why?” It seemed I had all the answers. But how do I answer this “why?”
I prayed to God to help me find the words to console him. God help my boy through this pain.
During his visit last weekend, he promised to change his course. He promised to get healthy and that he would make me proud.
Death can be the hardest and cruelest lesson in life. Life is so very fragile. Kids rarely think of it. Teens think they’re invincible. Then something like this happens and it punches all the air out of them. To realize the true pain of loss and it’s effect on everyone his life touched. It’s earth shattering.
I rarely ask for prayers from friends. In truth most days I find it hard to pray myself. But I am asking for some prayers for us. For the family of the boy, for my boys, and for Victor.
Somos frágiles,
sometemos nuestros cuerpos
a sobredosis de emoción
y distancias largas
que nos matan lento
no tenemos tiempo
no tenemos tiempo...
