Fraction and Ba come by to harras us on Wed, Preview Night.

Christmas party at the Bowen's house. This is the only picture I took that even came close to turning out. Wah wah!

This is just a fraction of my city buildings.

This summer it goes together!!!!

A fraction of a second later..... I initially (though even that only after the aircraft landed) thought the Malcolm hood blown Perspex canopy had come adrift and struck the tailfin, then disintegrating: the shards can be seen catching the sun above and to the sides of the Mustang. Close scrutiny shows not only an impact mark on the fin (shining silver where the paint has come off) but also one on the right tailplane (stabilator to US readers) and a distortion on the left tailplane. This shows beyond any doubt that the canopy simply disintegrated in place and the bits hit all three rear control surfaces, fortunately without affecting the aircraft's flight.

i think my favorite thing about this show was that all these people who never go to the same shows were all there, psyched to be there, and everyone got along.

Last week, for a fraction of a second, the Sun was eclipsed twice. One week ago today, many people in North America were treated to a standard, single, partial solar eclipse. Fewer people, all congregated along a narrow path, experienced the eerie daytime darkness of a total solar eclipse. A dedicated few with fast enough camera equipment, however, were able to capture a double eclipse -- a simultaneous partial eclipse of the Sun by both the Moon and the International Space Station (ISS). The Earth-orbiting ISS crossed the Sun in less than a second, but to keep the ISS from appearing blurry, exposure times must be less than 1/1000th of a second. The featured image composite captured the ISS multiple times in succession as it zipped across the face of the Sun. The picture was taken in a specific color emitted by hydrogen which highlights the Sun's chromosphere, a layer hotter and higher up than the usually photographed photosphere. via NASA ift.tt/2wShbvy

Beirut, Jul 9 – A month into the battle to capture the Islamic State group’s self-styled capital, U.S-backed Syrian forces have encircled the militants inside Raqqa, breached their fortified defenses and inched closer to the heart of the city. Yet the battle has barely begun, reports...

9) I can't think of anything else I want to share with the public.

A small fraction of Disneyland employees and fans gathered outside the iconic California theme park this morning to pressure Governor Gavin Newsom into allowing all of the theme parks to reopen. All of the theme parks in California have been shut down since the middle of March and Disney, in particular, has been sparring with Newsom in order to get their park open to the public. Currently, only the Downtown Disney area, which is made up of dining and shopping, is open to the public. The ongoing public health crisis limits how many people can be in the area at any given time.

Just over 20 Disneyland employees and fans (all wearing masks) showed up outside of the park to protest this morning. They all want Gavin Newsom to allow the park to reopen. The Downtown Disney portion of the park has been at capacity for weeks now, with people desperate to get any kind of Disney fix. However, Gavin Newsom has not had any interest in reopening the park, or any of the other theme parks in California, including Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Magic Mountain.

Things have started to get a bit ugly between Disney and Gavin Newsom over the past several months. Walt Disney World reopened back in July, and the plan was to do the same in California, but Newsom put a stop to it when cases started spiking again. moviesblogs.com/small-group-of-disneyland-employees-rally...
