This is but a fraction of this massive double waterfall. The whole thing in frame is a kind of an awkward composition from the viewpoint at the end of the trail. I like this one and another one I'll post in a while much better.

Borgo Parrini is a small fraction of the municipality of Partinico, in the province of Palermo, characterized by colorful houses decorated in full Gaudì style.
Today very few people live there who, however, in the last ten years have decided to give the village a new life. A local entrepreneur had the intuition to make it an unusual place and started a renovation of the houses in the style of the Catalan artist Gaudì.
The facades of the houses are colored with bright colors and writings, the walls have mosaic decorations and colorful tiles and the small village has become a very popular place for travellers.

Le facciate delle case sono colorate con tinte vivaci e scritte, i muri recano decorazioni a mosaico e piastrelle variopinte e il piccolo borgo è diventato un luogo molto visitato dai viaggiatori.

Borgo Parrini is a small fraction of the municipality of Partinico, in the province of Palermo, characterized by colorful houses decorated in full Gaudì style.
The name derives from the fact that the fields around Partinico were bought by the Jesuit fathers in the 1500s. The name parrini, in fact, in Sicilian means priests.
So it was an area managed by the religious consisting of a small country church and a convent around which, later, the village arose with lodgings for the settlers and agricultural labourers.
In 1767, then, this village became the property of the French prince Henri d'Orleans who set up a farm for the production of a wine that soon became much appreciated and sought after. After the Second World War many of the inhabitants preferred to move to the city and the village remained almost uninhabited and therefore began its inevitable decline.

Moon Phase for today: Feb 05, 2023, captured this morning as the moon was setting just before sunrise.
The Moon's current phase for today and tonight is a Full Moon phase. The Moon will be visible throughout the night sky rising at sunset in the east and setting with the sunrise the next morning in the west. During a Full Moon the moon is 100% illuminated as seen from Earth and is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun. The point at which a Full Moon occurs can be measured down to a fraction of a second. The time it takes between full moons is known as a Synodic month and is 29.530587981 days long. [...].
On February 5 the Moon is 14.52 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases. Moongiant

From a slide I took in August 1983 in Aldgate bus station.
A route that started in 1934, that up until the end of the 1960s ran from Wanstead to Camberwell Green. For a few short years in the late 1930s, it was extended on Sundays all the way north to High Beech. Like many bus routes, it is a fraction of the length it once was.

Picture Lake in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest Park. Luckily it wasn't too crowded and we could set up nicely with a magnificient view. With luck we were able to shoot some of the meteors as they lit up for a fraction of a second across the night sky. This photo has two in view just above the mountain. Squint and you'll see them!
A fraction late locking on to this pair so not as sharp as I would have liked, but still nice to see the two together....taken @ Kidwelly Quay

As a landscape and nature photographer many of you are asking themselfs the same question. Should I share my knowledge of the most beautiful spots with others ore not. Opinions are deeply divided on this issue, from "never ever" to "of course". I belong definitely to the second fraction. It makes me happy, when I can show someone this beautiful places and its overwhelming to see the reactions of those who see such things, like this sunrise on mt. Winterberg, the first time. So I took along other enthusiastic photographers to my nocturnal forays through the elbe sandstone mountains, multiple times.

This is just a fraction of the number of King Penguins that were at this location. There are really no words to describe the feeling of being among thousands of penguins that show absolutely no fear of people. It was quite a humbling experience. Now I say that I should have taken more pictures but sometimes it was so overwhelming that you just had to look and take it all in. We were told that there were more than 250,000 penguins at some locations. This was the summer season in the Southern Ocean and they come here only to nest, then return north to warmer waters during the winter.
We were also told that the older penguins nest to the inside of the group and the first time nesters stay to the outside. This is because there is more risk of predators getting the chicks that are on the outside and the more experienced penguins know that. Taken at Gold Harbour, South Georgia on the cruise to Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctic Peninsula.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
a fraction of that total on a few more photography books so you can study the images therein to better use the camera you already have :-)

Going to Alaska means watching whales, and we saw quite a few of them. Here, the humpbacks were creating bubble nests to catch fish. There were several groups of humpbacks, and about seven of them would come out of the water together when they were capturing the fish, and naturally, the seagulls would go crazy over them. Still, it was difficult to get a good photo because it would all happen in a fraction of a second.

This view shows a small fraction of the tundra swan activity on Sunday afternoon near Brownsville MN. The swan staging area extends for about 3 miles on the upper Mississippi River here and those distant flying swans are about 1 1/2 miles or 2400 meters away from where I was standing on the west shore. The Wisconsin shoreline would be an additional 800 meters to the east. If you care to zoom in on this rather fuzzy photo since there's some atmospheric distortion, you can see hundreds of ducks, some Canada geese and even a few American white pelicans joining in the mix.

В пруду есть ротан и окунь.
In the first hour of the morning post-daybreak, a Saturday-edition Wisconsin Southern train T004H from Horicon to Janesville--sporting an all-red head end typical for most weekends--winds through Richfield, WI, utilizing the services of Canadian National's Waukesha Subdivision over which it has trackage rights to bridge the gap in home rails between Slinger and Waukesha. Slick autumn rail conditions and a hefty train topping over 100 cars would provide a challenge for the four EMDs powering the train and ultimately render them insufficient for the task. Things would grind to a halt shortly after rejoining the WSOR when the train stalled on the climb to Williams, requiring the crew to abandon a majority of the train on the hill and make the remainder of the journey to Janesville with only a fraction of what they started with.
The largest terrestrial animals in North America, bison once roamed in herds numbering in the millions dominating prairie and forest ecosystems. Now reduced to a fraction of their current range and population, bison survive mainly in conservation herds.
I haven't been very good at getting up for sunrises recently, and this is one that got away. I took this from the bottom of our street and is only a fraction of the amazing sky that was just on fire. If only I'd got up earlier and popped down the coast. I don't make resolutions, but if I did, getting out earlier would be one, so Wasted Time , by Kings of Leon is perfect.

Red Admiral Butterfly: -
The Red Admiral is a frequent visitor to gardens throughout the British Isles and one of our most well-known butterflies. This butterfly is unmistakable, with the velvety black wings intersected by striking red bands.
This butterfly is primarily a migrant to our shores, although sightings of individuals and immature stages in the first few months of the year, especially in the south of England, mean that this butterfly is now considered resident. This resident population is considered to only be a small fraction of the population seen in the British Isles, which gets topped up every year with migrants arriving in May and June that originate in central Europe. Unfortunately, most individuals are unable to survive our winter, especially in the cooler regions of the British Isles.
The number of adults seen in any one year is therefore dependent on the number of migrants reaching the British Isles and numbers fluctuate as a result. In some years this butterfly can be widespread and common, in others rather local and scarce. This is a widespread species and can be found anywhere in the British Isles, including Orkney and Shetland.
