f/1.8 and DOF kinda blurs the background.

AIDS no longer has to be a death sentence, medical treatments for those living with HIV exists - but it's only available to a fraction of the 33 million people afflicted with the disease. One of the people trying to change that is Dr. Julio Montaner. Born and raised in Argentina, Julio came to Canada fresh out of med school. He's recognized as one of the most important HIV/AIDS researchers in the world. Montaner is fighting the disease on two fronts. First, Montaner has pioneered a triple drug therapy known as HAART, it's considered the Gold Standard treatment for HIV today. His second battle is red tape. When the Canadian Government refused to allow HAART therapy in Canada, he called them out on it - right in the middle of the 2006 federal election campaign. HAART is now available in Canada and as the newly elected president of the International AIDS Society, Montaner says he'll start calling out governments all over the world who aren't stepping up the fight against AIDS.

Never have I hated fractions with such a passion. Those big lines

across the page aren't crossing things out, or dividing up sections -

those are the dividing line in my fractions. I have numerators four

lines long! Needless to say, I'm pretty sure there's a better way to

do the question.

Here are 4 sets of flashcards to practise the concept of arranging fractions in ascending or descending order. Remind your pupils to find the common denominators of multiple fractions to order them. Laminate for longer use. Available to download for FREE at:

The steepest part - a fraction over 1 in 10 - of the Great Orme Tramway's 827-yard upper section is tackled by car number six, St Seiriol, with a Summit Station-bound service from Halfway Station. This part of the system, a funicular railway, opened in July 1903. The San Francisco-style car was built that year by Motherwell firm Hurst, Nelson and Co. Its redundant trolley pole was used until 1990 for radio communication. It is thought car number six has never worked on the lower section, linking Halfway Station with Llandudno Victoria. The wires in the background of this shot carry cable cars on a one-mile journey from Happy Valley to Great Orme's summit plateau.

In a fraction of a second I was at his back with my excellent machine. I gave a few bursts with my machine gun. I had gone so close that I was afraid I might dash into the Englishman. Suddenly, I nearly yelled with joy for his propeller had stopped turning. I had shot his engine to pieces; the enemy was compelled to land, for it was impossible for him to reach his own lines. The English machine was curiously swinging to and fro. Probably something had happened to the pilot. The observer was no longer visible. His machine gun was apparently deserted. Obviously I had hit the observer and he had fallen from his seat

The only fraction of day that Jakartans could enjoy without any traffics in the main road of MH Thamrin. Thousands of people gather to walk, bike, jog, talk, sell things, even entertaining others with numerous costumes of well-known characters. It is quite appealing at first but the result of this activitites is the piling up of rubbish on the road - which is - thankfully - cleaned up by the workers eventually.
