Successive seasons wreak havoc on the groynes at Kelson beach, Ontario. What, at first glance, might look like an ice floe is in fact part of the remaining wood structure that has been iced over.

A view of the Thames at Kingston with the disused power station looming in the mist. In the foreground is the operating base of Turks Launches and, with shades of the Fighting Temeraire, a trip boat under tow likely off to another boatyard upstream near Egham.
Shot on Ilford FP4plus with a Yashicamat 124G, around 1992/3 as the power station was demolished not long after in 1994.

I lived opposite this remarkable building for 6 years since 2007. Stupidly, it did not cross my mind to visit it and I only rarely photographed some of its outside views. The building boasts 34000 m2 (of which 15400 m2 are actually useable). Although "remarkable" (namely by its sheer size), I cannot pretend that I like it and this probably explains my lack of interest for it over these years. On the few occasions that it attracted me to photograph it, it was due to its interesting shadows and reflections of its white walls on the wet ground below.

Life admin got in the way for a bit. A big bit.
Thanks for the very kind notes and comments in my absence.
Looking forward to catching up with Flickr friends' feeds.
As you can see, things are pretty status quo on the Molly front.

coming off the same roll as the previous frame ... this one is a little more obvious that it was nuked by sunlight - but i think its ok, a manner of worthy accident that lends the space with an ethereal glow ! :-)
