A fountain with a story...

When you got it... flaunt it!!!

One thing I learnt on my trip to Rome is how much the Romans liked flaunting their water supply. All fountains in Rome are powered by their ancient aquaducts [a remarkable engineering feat]... and just one fountain wasn't enough!!!

This here is the Four Rivers Fountain... a spectacular fountain in itself... but with a hilarious history - I highly recommend the self-guided walk in Rick Steves' travel guide. Ok... the history may not be 100% accurate... but it made us laugh :)

Spunky bow eating hoppers!

pleasant surprises ~ one great big 11.5 oz skein (681 yds!) of 3-ply worsted smooshiness. Spun from three contrasting tops dyed by Hello Yarn, Pigeonroof Studios and Four Rivers Yarn & Fibers. One ply soft Corriedale and two plies springy Polwarth. Lots of pop and poof.

681 yds/11.5 oz - super skein!

worsted weight, 3-ply

Finally tried the new Four Rivers BBQ restaurant this past week. Verdict: it's conveniently close to where I work, but has outdoor seating, crowded, and perpetually long lines. Moreover, Cecil's tastes a lot better, in spite of being way down on the south side of town.

The Fountain of the Four Rivers in the Piazza Navona in Rome by Bernini. Taken during our European trip in 2005. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a wider shot because the base of the fountain was surrounded by droves of street vendors...
