Seth was kind enough to take me over to a back channel where I could get some good shots of the fish eating hoppers!

After a cafe stop for another urgent bathroom trip. At Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers). The piazza was crowded and pretty much unpleasant. Too many hawkers. The artists setup in the middle were ok, I guess, but with the crowds they just made it feel congested. People beyond were told to not sit on the fountain by police, which is against the rules, but the police also don't care about all the vendors getting in your face.

The Bible tells of four rivers emerging from the Garden of Eden. We find four rivers merging into the Shatt al-Arab at al-Qurnah in Iraq. However, the rivers “come in” and join each other here while the Bible tells of they going out from the Garden of Eden hence this location of Eden becomes questionable. Piazza Navona and the Church of Sant'Agnese in Agone, with the Fountain of the Four Rivers. The Fountain has 4 statues personifying the Danube, the Ganges, the Nile and the river Plate (Rio de la Plata between Argentina and Uruguay).

The fountain shows all of the major world rivers known at the time (between 1500 and 1600 as I recall). This one represents the Nile; because the headwaters were unknown then, the figure has his head covered.

This is one of the statues of the four rivers (the Nile, Ganges, Danube and Rio della Plata) which makes up the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi in the Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy.
