This started with what is possibly a clock housing. Challenged by the current Etsy SteamTeam's contest to make a steampunk piece with moving parts, I immediately got the idea of making a steampunk version of the child's toy that has a cardboard bottom with holes and several free-rolling balls which can be put in the holes by manipulating the toy. So I used some existing holes and added a wonderful cog and several other steamy watch parts to give a more challenging terrain for moving the balls over and into. There is a protective pocket watch lens cover that has the haze of age upon it and the 3 tiny balls are Sterling silver so that they show up clearly against all the lovely old brass. The "toy" is prong-set on a vintage brass filigree and the whole assemblage dangles from a 22" vintage gold-filled chain. Some vintage chain dangles off the toy for further steamy vibes. I am a trained, if somewhat playful, silversmith and have assembled this piece to last.
I put the three pottery mini-mini heads in with my found objects collection.

These are small 2.5" x 2.0" Easter-themed molds that were sold as vintage Christmas Tree ornaments. I found them charming and plan to use them as jewelry elements.
A braze welded sculpture of recycled bicycle parts. The legs and hips are rear derailleur plates, and the tail, head, and jaw of the mount is a brake lever and housing. The teeth are chain pins on a link plate.
The rider's torso is made of two rear derailleur mounting pegs, and a brake caliper forms its shoulders and arms. In its right manipulator is a spring clip from the underside of a saddle, and in its left is a staff of a handlebar stem bolt and expander nut, rear derailleur spring, and a wheel bearing race nut.
On its shoulders is an epaulette of a brake cable guide sleeve and a head of a tube clamp and alignment washer. It wears a jaunty hat of a headset locknut.
SOLD at Cannibals, Portland Or 10/09 4"x4"x2.75" created for The miniature show at the Ghost Gallery, Seattle in July 2009
Seen in a parking lot somewhere in Montana. I had location services Turned Off so I do not know where specifically this was taken. On the Hi-Line along highway 2 generally.
This mooring ring seemed to me like a Henry Moore sculpture in minature. So you could say it's a very Moorish mooring ring :-)
Fairy bottle necklace. Thing a fairy may find as treasure. Shells, vintage watch parts, dried flowers, moss, an insects leg, an insects wing, moss, lichen and sea shells
This piece would fit well during the 4th Sunday in Advent (Dec. 20th), where we have the Canticle, Song of Mary, and hear the Gospel reading from Luke of Mary's visit to Elizabeth (mother of John the Baptist).
But I was anxious to put out some decorations, and this is one I assembled.
I have a small collection of Madonna's, and when I found this MOM shelf, I knew I had a place to showcase a few of them.
The Jesus statue behind it is a representation of the huge "Christ the Redeemer" statue that stands on the mountain top in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I think it gives a great message of how Jesus felt about Mary - with His arms outstretched to His mother....MOM!
Jesus, God incarnate (in the flesh), was born of Mary - Mary, the one chosen by God to give birth to the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
Mary had her baby boy, nursed Him, cuddled Him, sang to Him, cared for Him, taught Him, disciplined Him, soothed Him, and most of all LOVED Him. All the things that mothers do - she was His Mom. And as Moms know, not only is there great love in being a Mom, there is much heartache and sorrow as well, especially in Mary's case and all that she had to see her Baby Boy go through as an adult.
"Mary Did You Know"
[lyrics by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene]
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?
(More lyrics to this song and this song are on my blogsite robertasrandom.blogspot.com )

This piece started with a safety pinion from a long-defunct antique pocket watch. It had some wonderful depressions that once held the works of the watch. I gently filled them with epoxy resin and then carefully arranged assorted steampunk goodies, primarily more watch parts in the resin . In addition, the piece is about 1 1/4" in diameter and is on a 16" vintage chain with a safety clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat geary, silversmith and have built this piece to last. Suitable for male or female adornment.

My first piece in months that doesn't have an Aesop reference! Started this one before the Aesop book, set it aside, and just finished it.

FOUND ITEM- photo on flickr.....well, originally MR HUNK found ADDA!
Way back in the day, MR. STUD was in a BARE CHEST CONTEST at the EAGLE BAR with his then boyfriend.
Yes, a lesson learned boyfriends, NEVER let your boyfriend enter a naughty contest, unless you want to loose him.
This hunk got up on stage and brought down the house. OK. He was hella handsome.
During the contest, they asked MR HUNK several questions, just think, MS. AMERICA, except in a gay leather bar, so the answers were a tad different than " I WOULD LIKE WORLD PEACE'....
The answer was usually, 'I'D LIKE A PIECE OF EVERYONE IN THE WORLD'...
and hence, when asked about HUNKS boypal, MR. HUNK said, "UP THE BOYFRIEND, he wanted....(hold your breath) ,,,THAT GUY! and pointed to ADDA !
Well, ADDA being cool and coy, smiled back, and answered something which I have completely forgot these days...
but it was nice and sweet..though MR HUNKS boyfriend stared daggers into ADDA.
adda IS sure It didnt help boyfriend matters that MR HUNK jumped down off the stage and planted a HUGE wet kiss on ADDA...
the crowd went WILD...and of course, MR HUNK won the contest.
Well, MR. HUNK also went on to do porn and tons of 'rendez-vous' . ..
and MR HUNK become ADDA's #1 fan...
No matter where ADDA was , MR HUNK would constantly break any situation , any stride, just to come up and chat with ADDA.
All MR HUNK would have to do is see ADDA, and (gulp), MR HUNK would bee line straight to ADDA...
ADDA would spot him in a crowd, and as soon as MR HUNK saw ADDA, he would break whatever he was doing or chatting...BEE LINE to ADDA.
Granted, this happened all the time to ADDA, but somehow having a 'star' jump off stage to plant one on ADDA , always endeared MR HUNK to ADDA.
SO, MR HUNK...where-ever you are--thank you - may peace be with you....you will always be in my heart. and fondly remembered..
(geesh, of all the porn stars ADDA bagged in the day, this was one ADDA did not!)
The uranium glass piece is shaped like a classical jug or ewer with an elegant curly handle. The smoke-blackened bulb on the left contains a vertical coaxial wire, and the tube on the right contains a wiggly inner tube like some kind of condenser.
This asymmetrical necklace features a gorgeous black swan on a filigree base. The swan is brass, I added the black patina. It is securely riveted to a vintage-style filigree. The swan is wearing a small brass crown and is diving under a copper canopy with a vintage bell attached. A small wristwatch clockworks dangles below to conjure a steampunk vibe. The 20" chain is a vintage multi-link on one side and the other side features 2 different chains punctuated by a corrugated flattened brass vintage bead adorned with another small bell. The tiny bells make a delightful tinkling sound as you move. The necklace is secured with a safety lobster clasp. One of a kind! sold
