18 REASONS WHY WE ALL LOVE COX
Seniors
Club legend Greg Barras sat nervously in his house at Albury as word quickly spread that his club record of 18 goals was in jeopardy. Lee Cox under the beautiful Autumn sun treated the fans to a marking and goal scoring frenzy. Cox had a near perfect game, equalling the club record, and even found time to give off four more goals to team mates in better positions.
For the first time this season Hepburn was able to score the first goal of the match, usually slow starters, the Burras showed no signs of being lethargic and had eight goals on the board by quarter time. At the main break 20 goals had been amassed with Cox kicking half of them. Cox’s sidekick, Andy McKay unusually flew under the radar, (as was Cox’s dominance) but “ Hollywood” was still close to best on ground honours with his 7 goals , superb high marking and pin point passing to Cox on the lead.
Creswick had a day they would rather forget, but to their credit, they never gave up and had some young players who had very good games. As usually is with an uneven scoreline, most of the play was forward of the centre square, in saying that Hepburn’s backline had to concentrate harder, but when the opportunity arose, Trevor Johnson, Allan Ware and coompany mopped up and created opportunities for their team mates. Daniel Smith’s big frame also posed problems for the opposition. Smith played a very versatile game, using his body to great affect so his fleet footed allies in Baker, Rees, and the James boys could get their hands on the ball.
Brian O’ Halloran, the former star rover of the 1970’s is a proud man. His oldest son Tim is doing well in his first coaching gig at Reserves level. Next in line Dan becoming a seasoned performer, but the youngest of the clan, Liam, has settled in nicely into Shane Robertson’s structure, bobbing up linking play, and showing maturity well above his years.
Next week Hepburn takes on the big improver Gordon at the Laurie Sullivan Reserve which should be a match worth watching.
Final Scores: HEPBURN 36-12-228 defeated CRESWICK 3-4-22
Goals: L. Cox 18, A. McKay 7, D. O’Halloran 3, J. James 3, J. King 2, R. Gundry, T. Johnson, D. James
Best: L. Cox, A. McKay, D. Smith, D. Rees, A. Baker, D. O’ Halloran
UNDER 18’s
For two and a half quarters Hepburn matched Creswick, but were blown away in the end by one of the premiership favorites. The highlight reel was pretty small, but Joe Malone would have featured prominently having a blinder of a game in the middle. His strong work in tight and then classy skills to finish something his younger team mates can learn from.
Tom Conroy battled hard in the ruck, certainly holding his own and Lucas Bossinger put in his best game to date. The small brigade of under 15 players who fill in each week again performed well, with Jackson Carrick and Billy Johns being rewarded kicking goals. Next week is a big game as the boys should aim to have their second win for the season.
Final Scores: HEPBURN 5-3-33 lost to CRESWICK 20-14-134
Goals: J. Malone 2, K. Frost, J. Carrick, B. Johns
Best: J. Malone, J. Liversidge, K. Frost, M. Allison, L. Bossinger, T. Conroy

Step Forward transmits the principles of consciousness and neighborly love, increased through Art. Euterpe is a giant teenage girl puppet who walks and talks, interacting with Burning Man’s participants to learn from them and to, tenderly, teach them her values. A young girl dreams of a better world in which everybody loves each other. One day she wakes up in an unknown place where she doesn’t really know if she is awake or in a wonderful dream. She watches in amusement all that takes place around her at the time she gets involved in Burning Man’s experience. Contact: info@carrosfoc.com
Makinzie Allen blinks and jerks forward afew steps as Ayr falls into the very unsanitary water.her Blues wide and her mouth hanging open .
Dodeva Zapatero looks on in astonishment. "...Whoa..." Dodeva really didn't know what else to say.
Dodeva Zapatero runs pass the cloaked man and bends over the edge of the water trying to find signs of how deep down Ayr was
Shadowkat Wrigglesworth felt the water burn her nose and eyesm as tge water began to fill her lungs. Right now the tiger was almost in a feral mode so the idea that she should pull up to the water didn't affect her. She'd bring her fist back down into his body, most likely it was hard to aim due to the water blocking her eyes, and the fact that Midian's water was dark underness it. Her head was starting to grow dizzy but she would try to ingoring her, in herm ind this was the one that killed her niece or nephew and broke her sister.
Nikodemus Igaly strolled slowly to the first column, his firey gaze glued to them mutants in fronta him after he equipped at the docks for the case the shit would hit him..standing half behind the pillar, not to hide, but ta be able ta cover quickly if any stra bullets were flying around he'd eyes the scene while mutterin in a cellphone he keeps between shoulder n ear
Ayr Bosatsu He coughed out hoarsely - bubbles forming beneath the mask, even its seal losing to the pressure of the water as he hit the bottom of the small basin where the boat sat. His head rested on the sand under the water as his hands grabbed at his throat trying to get air. A confusing mixture as his body rested there - too out of it to care and too out of breath do much of anything. Looks up at kat from beneath the water - w atching another fist come cracking down on his torso, her silhouette outlined by the dim light above.
Dodeva Zapatero puts his hat on the ground "Great. I can't even see him." He puts his goggles on and took a deep breath and dived into the murky looking water
[2009/01/06 16:04] Makinzie Allen darts towards the watersedge and stares into teh blackness, searching for Ayr or Kat.With a small *mews* she backs away and stares over to Shiro and the big metal dude, arguing with herself on whether or not to help him or help dave save Ayr.
Dhalilah Dryke blinks and slows down her pace when snow-blue eyes try to catch the scenery in its whole, and with a quick step sidewards, her frail body slips behind the stony pillar's coverage as well. She's tempting to murmur something into Nik's ear, then realizing he's busy with his mobile. A quiet sigh falls from those crimson lacquered cushions as she leans against the cold column, thin fingers idly brushing the steel finishings of her corset.
Shadowkat Wrigglesworth would remember her words from earlier, she wouldn't kill Ayr he was one of hers. She grabbed him by the shirt and attempted to pull him to the surface. Her hair was in her face as she tried to move towards the edge bringing Ayr with her. She wouldn't let him die, not today.
Dodeva Zapatero swims down as fast as he could, counting his seconds. He could only hold his breath for so long. the goggles were almost useless since they were so far down. He saw what looked like two bodies trying to swim.
Ayr Bosatsu Closes his eyes over sleepily as he's drawn back up to the surface, completely unconscious from the needle shot by this point. Dreams instead. Dreams about domo kun and weetabix.
Makinzie Allen lenas back over the edge as they emerge. She would hold out a hand to Kat,though she was the one to poison Ayr,she also was holding him above the water.
Nikodemus Igaly takes the cellphone off his ear n closes it shovin it in his pocket before he'd slowly walk around the column ta peek down in the water, curious bout whats goin on down there...with a slight frown he notices Kat in the pwater with some other critter...with a quick glance over his shoulder he checks if Dha was still there before he'd kneel down at the edge, callin down without carin if he'd be heard or not "Troubles, Kat?"

I was so looking forward to eating here after reading about this place on this site:

But it was closed! And so early in the afternoon. Hopefully I'll get to go back again soon.
I don't know what I expected when I rolled into Stanford. Another interesting but halfway abandoned town, I suppose. Boy was I wrong. What I observed was easily one of the most beautiful and charming towns I have ever seen! Think "perfect, classic small town". This charming place is clean and bustling, with cute little storefronts and the town has a lovely color scheme of flowers in all planters and hanging baskets. Big kudos to the town of Stanford, they keep everything ship shape and so cute! Another big plus is it's located in the middle of sprawling, beautiful prairie yet surrounded on the skyline by mountains. This is probably one of the top 5 places in Montana I would love to live. Maybe some day :)
"Stanford is a county seat of Judith Basin. In 1880 Calvin and Edward Bower came here with a thousand head of sheep and acquired 100,000 acres. The Bowers named the settlement for their old home, Standfordville, in Duchess County, New York. Stanford was a station on the Fort Benton-Billings stage route and a meeting place for cowboys from the Judith Basin Pool and other cattle companies who stock grazed the rich Judith Basin before homesteaders and sheepmen arrived.
The Judith Basin County Museum was opened in 1967. The museum has many old time articles, old pictures and some history books. It also contains a collection of 2,082 sets of salt and pepper shakers; a collection of 50,000 buttons; an Indian artifacts display, and many more items. Charles M. Russell, a famous Western artist, lived and painted many of his paintings in the area. There is a display of some of his paintings at the museum.
For years stories of white wolves of prodigious strength and cunning grew and multiplied among folk living in the Judith. One particularly huge wolf known as Old Snowdrift became a legendary outlaw.(from Cheney's Names on the Face of Montana, Mountain Press Publishing Company) Between Stanford and the Little Belt mountains, ranged the Judith Basin area's notorious White Wolf. There he reigned supreme for over fifteen years, preying on calves and eluding the cattlemen trying to track him down. As his fame grew, hunters from all over the United States came to try their luck at hunting the legendary White Wolf. When the White Wolf was finally captured, locals found that he was as large as had been reported, weighing 83 pounds and measuring, including the tail, six feet long.
Recreation opportunities abound in the nearby Lewis and Clark National Forest, Judith River Wildlife Management Area and Ackley Lake State Park. The Judith River Wildlife Management Area, at the edge of the Little Belt Mountains is a good place to view large elk herds in late fall and winter." -centralmontana.com

It is a "different" type of monument. It was my first time to see it. In reflection, it is very powerful in that it was from a time of great deprivation and great hope. Now we seem to live in a time of great abundance and great anxiety. We need a leader who can inspire hope and a vision for better times ahead!
