New Zealand is home to over 40 native species of forget-me-nots from the genus Myosotis. There is only one true and rare Chatham Island species that grows on exposed coastal sites only on that island (800km or 500 miles off the coast of New Zealand). The Chatham Island forget-me-not grown in mainland New Zealand is not a true forget-me-not (Myosotis species), but was given the name because its small deep blue flowers are very similar.

Comments turned of because after much deliberation due to health concerns, this time more concerning Jonathan we have decided to go on holiday as previously planned as the requested Echocardiogram showed no sign of being imminent. Finalized all arrangements and you guessed it yesterday he was rang and asked if he could attend the hospital for one on Saturday...to everyone's consternation he politely declined it. They had our holiday dates in their system and he has been waiting since March so Que Sera Sera...

Have no idea if we will have any internet or not so wishing all of you the very best for now and happy clicking :))

Thought I'd photograph the last of the forget-me-nots in the garden before they fade.

Thanks for all the very kind comments and faves on my images and have a safe weekend everyone.

Today I took photos of flowers in the garden.

I took this photo just after our first lockdown. Like so many people I thought that we would soon be enjoying a beautiful summer and loving life as normal, but sad to say that didn't happen. It's been a year that I'm sure most people will never forget, especially when so many loved ones have lost their battle with the terrible virus. Let's hope the new year will be a much brighter one.

forgotten memories ....
